You can use one of many apps that records audio (including ours, like iRIg Recorder which now also does video) and typically you can export the audio. iRIg Mic Lav retails for $/€49.99
Neither the iRig Recorder app nor the IK website would accept my serial number ("invalid"). Unable to register. And the iRig Recorder App refuses to even start, only popping up an "in-app purchase" prompt, making it completely useless. Not exactly clear whether my iRig Mic Lav 2 Pack is supposed to include the iRig Recorder app? Or whether it is just a link to the (useless) "free version"? And the space to enter the 20-character serial number is too short by half. Apparently the people who design the app/website and the people making up the serial numbers don't talk to each other. The design, with the switchable in-line monitor/chain dongle, is brilliant. Good show! I presume the mics will work OK, but I'm underwhelmed with their software and website.
At 1 min we can see he's recording with the camera + external mic lav, why i can't with my LG G4? I can do that with usb mic but when I try with irig mic lav + irig recorder, then i launch the camera ta record video, the phone tell me i cant record a video when audio is used... Help please :-(
Live monitoring would depend on the app, not the hardware. Smule Sing would need to support live monitoring via microphones plugged into the headphone jack (analog) in order for it to work.
iRig Mic Lav is not made for camcorders so even if your camcorder has a TRRS connection (like those on iOS devices, which serve as both input and output for earbuds with a microphone and similar) it likely would not work.

ikmultimedia but I’m not using that app I just ordered it by the way I’m using a app called movie pro that recognizes external microphones becasue I need it for video purposes not just sound I hope that works

Do I have to download an app that goes with the mic? As in, I want to record videos on my phone, but want the mic to pick up the sound..
iRig Mic Lav will work with the built-in Camera app to record videos on iOS and most built-in video recording apps support the analog input.

There is very low noise but you can use apps like iRig Recorder to reduce noise and otherwise process the audio.
