Love the new intro, great video, and I love the yabby / fishing video. you should do more of these. great idea! I hope you and your family is doing well. can't wait for the next video.
One of the more fun things to do before you fish is "reconnaissance". I call this exploration and this is where you can do whatever you want until you find out that certain techniques or methods are limited to or suitable for that fishing environment. Another great video!!!
Great channel I been watching your back catalog of videos. I use the drop net & bicycle wheels here in Guernsey for catching spider crab the same as you use for crayfish & yabbies. Its great method and that anticipation of what will come up in the net 👍
Great new intro there Robbie. You've been taking me better go yabbying this weekend for a feed and bait. Hopefully the missus can peel them later. Enjoy.
Nice yabbies, I like the new intro and extro?. Went gold detecting other day, bugger all gold but I found a dam with yabby holes as round as a longneck and I spooked some fish in the shallows reddies I'm thinking. Time for a recon mission.cheers Craig
Well done mate good size yabbies especially the first one wow Robbie's deadliest Catch Love the new look of intro and final to the video great format Well done mate.
YEAH!!!!!!!!! so glad for you (big smiles) on the yabby how beautiful moon light to bad you are alone your family would probably enjoy seeing it with you. good catch with the big yabby come back and get more for appetizers for another day. good job robbie have a great day hoping as always to see you tomorrow (thumbs up)
Thank you so much Phoebe. I hope you have a wonderful day too. I have a fee videos lined up, but over the next 4 to 6 weeks things will really start to slow down for me as everything cools. I will still be making videos, just not quite as many.
it is quite alright one of the homestead families that i watch has taken a week off to get there things in order. things like that happen and i understand. just know that i will be waiting for everyone that comes out. (big smiles) @@robbiefishing
Good going Robbie. Caught a heap in a friends dam not long ago including my best yabbie ever. This dam is hardly touched so it is full of them. I have a picture of me holding the big one on my facebook page. It is funny because it came up upside down.
G'day Greg, In my part of Australia these small ponds in paddocks are called dams. On outback New South Wales they are called tanks. Basically they are just a hole in the ground, duh by heavy earth moving machinery designed to catch rainwater or run off during time of rainfall and store the water so that cattle, and other domestic stock have access to water during the dry summer months.
Hey robbie im stunbling on this video 4 years after its relief because my mum and dad gifted me thus bait trap for chrissie havent had a chance to try it out til now, what bait did you use mate?
Hi Doyle, WOW thank you so much for watching me all the way from Texas. I hope to get over there some day. I was on California and Nevada in 2001 but havent been able to make it back there ever since unfortunately.
They never go far mate even if the dam gets flooded. Whenever there is flooding generally a lot of grass and branches and what not wash in and puts too much oxygen in the water so half will head out of the dam for a while or dig down in the mud till the oxygen levels lower a bit. Used to happen all the time in our dams in flooding haha had to wait a month or two to get back to yabbying but the where back in full force.
Thanks so much Charlie. The content wont be this regular forever. Once things cool down so will the fishing. I will still be uploading videos just not as regularly.
Got a Fenix HL60R after losing my Black Diamond Icon and it's hands down the best bang for your buck. Metal casing, shock proof, water proof up to a metre, USB rechargeable and on the highest setting you can feel the sheer heat coming from the lens if you touch it. Only downside is you only have 40 minutes of battery on the highest setting lol. Fishing the river at night you can spot all the possums hiding in the trees on the other side, love this thing. While the Black Diamond was good, it had half the Lumen rating but a more focused beam on the highest setting but having that giant battery pack on the back of my head that fitted 4 AA batteries would give me headaches if I wore it all night fishing. You could detach it from the headband to wear on your shirt or whatever but I never really bothered with it.
Hi mate it depends on a number of things. For example, in this case I wanted anything of any size just to show me what was in the dam. Small yabbies can climb through the nets with the open top nets, so it made sense to use these nets.
I like the new intro and outro, are they permanent or are you just trying something new? Good to see the yabbies are present and active in the dam again mate that's awesome.
robbiefishing how do cook your yabbies ol mate? Any secret recipes or anything? Normally i boil mine, into ice water, peel then pickle the tasty little buggers!
Hi mate they are signal crayfish in a lot of ways, they are the Australian version. Different genus and species but basically the same thing. A small freshwater crustacean that dogs into the mud.
@@robbiefishing Thanks for replying mate I'm in the UK and our native crayfish look completely different that's why I was asking, the signals here are an invasive spieces here and there's thousands of them I can put out a net like yours for an hr and have 30+ signals in it my mate even caught 1 on rod and line fishing for red fine perch

Hey Robbie fantastic video again. I saw a video from Florida where they used a whole fish for bait and they had tons of crawdads in their traps.
Hi Lisa WOW that sounds interesting. I have used carp for bait plenty if times but never a whole carp. Perhaps I should try it.
