If only this video existed when I was first learning Korean! So simple, so straightforward. It boggles me why Korean teachers like to overcomplicate this grammar form by explaining it as "the act of doing something," which sounds so unnatural and awkward for a beginner. Just say "to verb" or "verb+ing" makes it so much easier imo.
Yesss, I know not many teachers explain it this way, but I found this explanation is the easiest for beginners to understand hehe :), I'm glad it was helpful for you ✨✨

wow! Last week I started studying this lesson and was really struggling to comprehend how to apply the 는 것 grammar. You made it so much clear for me to understand it. Thank you for the simple sentences teacher!
선생님 빈이야, 감사합니다! ☺ This video is super helpful, great stuff indeed! very clever to use color coding in the sentences. that makes it even more clear to me😉 i'm looking forward to part 2! thank you for your hard work❤🙌
Hello thanks for this video I needed some reviewing of the verb modifier 는 것. I learned it months ago with another verb modifier 기, I know they aren’t interchangeable because I heard 는 것 sounds more general and 기 followed by an emotion verb(or adjective) sounds like it’s in the near future,or like an unfinished action. I had a lot notes for that grammar point but it’s all lost and I don’t want to watch hours of videos on that grammar point. So I want you to check these sentences I wrote and check if the fixed expressions are correct. 매일 운동하기가 좋아요. It’s good to exercise everyday. 매일 운동하는 거 좋아요. (Correct or not) I like to exercise everyday. 심심하기가 쉬워요. It’s likely to get bored/easy to get bored. 심심하는 거 쉬워요. It’s easy to get bored. (Correct or not?) 설거지하는 거 귀찮아요. It’s bothersome/annoying to wash the dishes (more general) 설거지하기 귀찮아요. It’s brothersome/annoying to wash the dishes./I’m too lazy to wash the dishes. (More specific to that day etc not every time) 가기가 힘들어요. It’s difficult to go. (Specific to that time/ difficulty in preforming that action or unfinished/or ongoing action) 가는 게 힘들어요. It’s difficult to go. (wouldn’t be correct unless there’s more context? Bc it’s talking about the difficulty in a specific context related to going?) So am I correct in their nuances and differences in meanings when used with the same verb. I would also greatly appreciate if you make a video regarding 기 or provide me English sentences I can convert into Korean sentences with different nuances in that sentence IF my sentences are wrong. If they aren’t then you don’t need to provide me sentences or make a video.. Anyways I thank you a lot, it was nice to review and a lot easier. Also is there another grammar point 는 것 is used in or is it the same? Cause I heard that 는 것 can mean ‘the thing that verb’ and I heard that verb modifier 는 (것) other nouns can replace it like 는 사람 ‘the person that verb’ or 는 곳 ‘the place that verb’ etc.. sorry for writing a lot and asking a lot of questions I’m just really happy that you made this video thanks again! I really appreciate your work they’re very helpful..
I’ll be making videos soon about the grammar for 기 and the comparison with 는 거. I recommend my students to memorize certain verbs and adjectives for 기 매일 운동하기가 좋아요. -> 는 거 sounds better It’s good to exercise everyday. 매일 운동하는 거 좋아요. (Correct or not) -> Correct I like to exercise everyday. 심심하기가 쉬워요. -> 심심해지기가 쉬워요 (get bored, 지다 grammar) It’s likely to get bored/easy to get bored. 심심하는 거 쉬워요. -> 심심해지기가 쉬워요. It’s easy to get bored. (Correct or not?) 설거지하는 거 귀찮아요. -> correct It’s bothersome/annoying to wash the dishes (more general) 설거지하기 귀찮아요. -> correct It’s brothersome/annoying to wash the dishes./I’m too lazy to wash the dishes. (More specific to that day etc not every time) 가기가 힘들어요. -> correct It’s difficult to go. (Specific to that time/ difficulty in preforming that action or unfinished/or ongoing action) 가는 게 힘들어요. -> correct, 가는 게 힘들어 and 가기 힘들어 have almost the same meaning; they are interchangeable. Also is there another grammar point 는 것 is used in or is it the same? Cause I heard that 는 것 can mean ‘the thing that verb’ and I heard that verb modifier 는 (것) other nouns can replace it like 는 사람 ‘the person that verb’ or 는 곳 -> This is a different grammar, another very important one. I will make videos in future as well
@@StudyKoreanwithSol okay thank you! I had some fix expressions for 기 written down, i think for now 는 것 is more safer option than 기 since 기 gives a more specific feel. I thought for a bit 는 것 only had 1 grammar form thanks for correcting that I really need an answer.

Nope, here 고 is functioning as 'after,' and 는 것 doesn't have the meaning of 'after.' So using the 는 것 grammar would be incorrect if you want to say 'I will go after eating.'
Basically, 'I will go after eating' is the same as 'I will go after I eat.' or 'I eat, and then I will go'. We use the 고 grammar to express 'and then.' So 'I eat, and then I will go' becomes '밥을 먹고 갈게요.'
Hi, Sol, I hope you're doing well! As a teacher , you must be very busy and I'm embarrassed to bother you but I was wondering if you could help me understand a sentence with 는 거 that is giving me trouble. It seems like something is missing ((A word like 어때?) Or is the end of the sentence intentionally left hanging? Also, I wonder why the particle 에 is not used (유치원에) since it is a destination. Is it optional? So many questions! :) Thank you in advance! Have a good week!
