Yeah, we could do that! Definitely learned some lessons. - don’t use a K&N filter - they let water straight through. The factory filters are paper and will absorb some amount of water. - a snorkel is worth it for the added protection - make sure your fender liner is attached properly
Did you notice on the hinge end of the air box, the box isn’t sealed 100%? I’ve been debating getting a snorkel for my tundra but wondering if that not so water tight air box defeats the purpose..
Yeah, it's a pretty basic rubber seal, but I'm not too concerned about it being 100% waterproof. I don't plan on fording water such that the water line is anywhere close to that part of the airbox. I just wanted to ensure that once the front bumper is installed and the inner fender liner is modified/cut, it won't funnel water up into the airbox. That's what happened to the old Tacoma - the fender liner detached and funneled splashes right up there.
I'd recommend the snorkel just to better protect the engine anyways. If you're wanting to ford deeper water, you should probably go diesel or a very custom air intake setup.
Love it Eric! Full size life is king!
Hell yeah brother! 🤘🏽
Great video!
Thanks, Matt!
love the teamwork and seeing this come together!
Thank you! It's been a fun project and can't wait to get into the bigger systems!
hey guys what brand is the aluminum bracket for the electrical components?? great video!
UA-cam won't let me post links, so best thing to do would be to watch Part 1!
Is there a video covering what happened to the Taco? If not could you go into that sometime? Sounds like there may be some off road lessons learned.
