Scorpion is another cool Spider-Man villain, But to me, I will get the 2021 Spider-Man the Animated Series retro carded Sandman figure because I really need a Sandman action figure as well as getting Supaidaman because he is cool while going in my very own Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse shelf, Great review David.

I'm *so* tempted by that Supaidaman, even though I only have a few Marvel Legends with zero overall theme.
Sandman is disappointing in hand because they messed up the headsculpts 🤦🏻♂️ giving the alternate head w/ hole a neutral expression when it should have some type of emotion displayed on his face 🤷♂️
That backpack tip was actually very helpful

Liked this one quite a lot.
Usually i don't buy two of the same character like this guy especially one thats essentially the same figure. buuutttt i made an exception, i like both designs of the character almost equally so i might as well have both!
He justifies it!
I was satisfied with this figure. It's a great, average Marvel Legends. The color and tail make him worth it. An extra set of hands, and some paint added to the grooves in between the bands of his costume would make this better though.
That would help the look a lot!

He’s a classic for sure!
I like the first costume much more and here are my arguments: First of all, I really like this shiny darker green that looks very interesting alongside the rest. His whole mask, which is already iconic and unique to him, resembles him and I bet it was based on the typical balaclavas that were worn by bandits with holes for the eyes and mouth and apparently the mask is also put on his mouth so that they stand out so tightly because it is tightly applied to the face XD. And it is an absolutely classic costume that appeared most often in comics even in newer series like Nick Spencer and later. This one really seems to be fine too. The bright green and visible mouth. But I will say I do expected more. New bodymold or at least two fists and two claw hands. And even tho if he has bendy wire tail. For me it's something he should have. We shouldn't be glad they add this because IMO it's very important for scorpion. Same with ock no bendy wire in tentacles is such a pain in the ass. I would like to get this scorpion someday but for now I'm happy with my classic one.
We're in the minority. The darker green covered mouth look is the most iconic and my favorite. Completely agree. Also wasn't he mutated / genetically altered with an actual scorpion? Trying to make him something like Spiderman to be able to keep up with him plus the armor suit. Made him go crazy and he bonded with his suit to some extent, had sharp teeth, and his skin turned yellowish? The mask thing I compare to Green Goblin. It's a special nano type techno suit mask that is like fabric and conforms to their face or their lips in this case 😂
The original definitely has its great aspects!
I hope they make one with a lighter green and the non exposed mouth

I think it’s a more than fair grade for a figure that’s 4-5 years old now. When I found the original in store, I passed on it because the face bothered me too 😁
I’ve heard this is going to be one of or possibly the last Spider-Man retro figures w/ plastic blister packaging so I’ll be keeping him mint on card.
I’d like to see them update Electro ⚡️ on a newer buck with butterfly joints because we know how much they like to rerelease figures to tempt us to buy them again! Cheers Dave 🍻😎

Wish we got alternate hands, or at least a matching pair on the figure, but the tail is what I'm here for, and I love it. The Lizard was great, but you basically needed to use his tail as a third leg and couldn't do much else with it because it was so heavy. Scorpion's looks a lot more fun.
Yeah new hands would have made a big difference

Great review Dave, j had this one, he's cool looks just like the animated version but wanted a comic version and picked up the previous version. I agree his green mouth makes as much sense as Batman Beyonds mask.

Oh the 90s where cartoons can’t say sinister six but can say Mr. Sinister…. Gotta love it.
One thing I will say is that at least with my two copies, this new Scorpion feels A LOT less loose and gummy than my original release, which I always had problems getting to stand up. This one with the brighter green has no problem holding a pose though, even with the tail going all over the place.
Yeah, not so gummy over here either.
I have to have retro Scorpion. I'm going have to buy him just to replace the older version. A "stinger" of a review, Dave, awesome as always.
He’s definitely a worth upgrade
The only gripe I have is his tail is inaccurate to the show. In the show, his tail had a rounder nozzle shaped tip since he shot acid out of it. And the pincer was retracted inward at the top of the nozzle tip. Also, Scorpion's original mask is like that because its grafted to his skin. Original comics scorpion suit was permanently attached to his body and fused to his skin. Modern Scorpion wears more of an armored suit that as far as I know isn't grafted to him
Probably went with 'Insidious Six' since Mr. Sinister hit the TV screens first.

Great review Dave, yet again! For me, this Scorpion would be 4.5/10, because it's just a repaint - a very nice repaint though - so the bendy wire tail and body have already been engineered. Also because the bendy tail should be standard for this character.
Like a Doc Ock with toe joints, bendy tentacles, and individual joints in the tentacles' fingers would be 5/10 because that is what I consider the bare minimum for a Doc Ock figure.

The rogues villians is incredible once you line them up! Kraven def is next and hope we get more!

Personally I love this figure. I think his colors are amazing and he looks soooo good! Behind lizard he was in my top 3 for figure of the year.

Very small for a 6' 2" guy, especially if you want to have him next to Spider Man who is 5" 7'. I guess for photographs it would be ok
I love him so much more than the older scorpion we got the colour really makes him pop. Now if I could just find the lizard than I can die happy lol

It was the height that ruined it for me. Animated series Scorpion is massive. I would of liked to see a new mold. Colors are great to be fair. 6/10 is a great score👌

But Dave....Doesn't Batman in the movies put on mascara? And no one said anything about that. So the Scorpion decided to do his own thing and paint his mouth green.😂🤣
They should have added some tail accessories. There is one comic that he uses his tail to pogo jump onto a building. I'm staying with the metallic version as I'm more of the comic version fan.

Hey Dave what are the flight stands you always use for airborn shots? The bases are smaller than GSC simple stands and the arms aren’t engineered like the various Bandai stands so I’m curious
He said he gets his stands from eBay, which I've never found, but I have found them on Amazon. You're not allowed to post links on here but just look up "1/12 scale figure stands," sort by cheapest, and look around until you find them, there's also square and hexagon bases too. The stands are a bit low quality though, I've had about 2 of them break though
It might be due to my region but being here in the UK I just type ‘Gundam standsz’ and they come right up in packs of 4. Shipping from China.

I don't mind reused parts/sculpts if it makes sense, especially for a more niche character. In this case, anything Hasbro could do would end up being pretty minor improvements. I'm good with this, and I agree, this is one of the few times the cartoon improved the look of the comic.

I have 25 Spidey villains in my Spidey collection. I do not have a Scorpion yet and the two available both disappointed me tremendously.

My copy has the left hand stuck in place and unable to bend.. really annoying.. I would also add that I feel like the plastic Hasbro is using lately is getting more and more gummy.. feels really cheap..

I have never liked any outfits that have the underwear on the outside of the pants. I know that was the style back in the day but I'm not into it. I'll be waiting for a newer updated version and hopefully its pin less.

@@DisplayingModelBehaviour its the size more than anything. Scorpion should be bigger, more muscular. This guy looks like a wimp with a big tail (not like that, dirty boy!).
An extra head and some hands would have been nice too. Maybe the 2nd head could have been like the head from the last Scorpion with the weird both lol

I think he has a all green face because the suit is fused to his skin, still looks horrible

My one criticism, no alternate hands? Doc Ock got a rerelease with new hands AND a new head. In my opinion, they should’ve made either a new head sculpt with a different expression, or give another of the exact same sculpt with the mouth painted green. And maybe they could’ve given us 2 fists and two action hands, or two fists and the Vulcan open hands.

The EYES are different for sure, put em side by side. There is a slightly diff shape and positioning of the EYES
