I'm on team Trail, I'm not a football fan that first 10 minutes was torture for me to listen to football talk. I still love everything GOHUNT
I really appreciate this discussion. As a NR, sitting on that PP range for a GENL tag, appears one will need to dig deeper and do the special draw. Dang.
Amen on the Wilderness Area non-resident gripe. It's ridiculous
Can you explain your bonus point vs preference point discussion?
another great podcast thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Michael!
Lorenzo needs someone in the office to talk football with!!! 😂😂😂
Don't worry! He's got a lot of people. He just loves talking about it that much 😂
Thanx fellas
Any time!
Open up the wilderness area, help ease point creep
That won't do much for creep, but it will give everyone more breathing room.
@@arttrumbo9496 if you can go into the wilderness area without paying 12,000$ for a guide. All of us are fighting over the same little chunks of area to hunt. If you expand the playing field,,,,, the points will disperse. Think about it you have 15points and you can hunt a wilderness area without paying 15,000 for a guide. Lots of ppl would burn there points
They won't. The outfitter association holds too much power in the state.
Wyoming content starts at 26:14 :-)
Thank you!
They do need to reduce non resident tags in every western state imo. I’m a Montana resident and I have a big decrease in nicer quality bucks as more and more non residents show up every year. I get that some people want to hunt for meat well cool come and hunt but don’t shoot a fork horn or three point buck just to shoot a buck. Shoot a damned doe. I live here and I shoot a buck maybe every 3 or 4 years and I archery hunt hard. But if I can’t find what I think will go 170 or higher I let them walk in the hopes they live to get that big. If I want meat I shoot a doe or a cow elk. Part of this is all because of all these hunting shows. It’s all been commercialized and romanticized. Montana is next. Already talk of making most of the state special draw even for residents. I hope they do it cause the deer herds are suffering.
Wyoming already catered to nonresidents for tag allocations and even with that rule numerous out of state hunters break that rule. If you lived in Wyoming you would be happy that the state gives the residents a secluded place that only you can go instead of any Jo blow.
If you want to do that then make some units resident only. To say that a nonresident cannot legally hunt federally designated wilderness areas without a guide is so absurd the only reasonable explanation is greed on the part of the government and outfitters. I can go fly fishing in an area but I can't carry a bow and an elk tag on the same trail? That's ridiculous. Wyoming has been generous to nonresidents with their tag allocations, but their wilderness rule is the single most selfish and insulting hunting regulation in the country.
@@arttrumbo9496 Take it a step farther, you can small game hunt in that same wilderness area that you CAN'T big game hunt in. Proves it's all about greasing some pocketbooks.
