Elevator recall typically doesn't occur until the detectors in the elevator lobby or elevator shaft detect smoke, or the fire department activates it manually.
it sounds like a old school Edwards 8500 EVAC in first stage. The college i went to had one when i was in class there and it made the exact chime sound as this . the EST3 chime sound is different from this athough the sound could have also been loaded on to a EST3 as a custom sound as the previous system could have been a 8500 evac and they wanted to keep the same sound to avoid confusion
Code red is the hospital term for a fire emergency. A slow whoop tone would startle patients and surgeons which will mess things up such surgical complications which is why they use a chime tone. Horn strobes are a bad idea in hospitals for the same reasons above but, worsened.
That is the exact same fire alarm system at my Dad's hospital here in Cambridge, Ontario. It's 2 stage and has a different voice obviously, but the chime is exactly the same.
I was there for a drill, and I got to help reset the system! It's a GIGANTIC EST3 system, with SIGA-270P Pull Stations, 202-5A-TW Strobes with LKC-1 ceiling lenses and 965-1A-8RW speakers.
YYC's Random Carbon-Based Life Form I have seen the fire panel. And when we're you there. And there are 2 or 3 panels in the fire alarm control panel room
I believe that all voice evac alarms are programmed by a computer and controlled by a panel, but these new fire alarms now like Simplex for example you can use your phone or computer to also control the fire alarms.
elevators are usually not recalled during a fire alarm unless it is caused by a detector in one of the elevator lobby’s or in the elevator shaft or in the elevator machine room or by some manly recalling it with a key

From my knowledge this is what “CODE RED: LEVEL 0: CLINICAL GENETICS” Meant when it was paging over the EST Intercom: Code red Generally means fire (from my knowledge), and Level 0 was LL (Because M is the main floor) and Clinical genetics, I’ve researches it, and it seams to mean a doctor who provides a diagnostic service for family’s who have/may be at risk of having conditions from a genetic basis. With that in mind, i think that it was saying Clinical Genetics because it was in the office/area were they do clinical genetics diagnosis’s. I’ll give you that, I am not sure about the genetics because they are all over the hospital (FYI) I am not on the LL (lower Level) that much, so I don’t know he whole LL
The children were scared of the alarm all that one did was a bell with the announcement. I can see how those kids would react if those were SpectrAlert Advances.
Gary Beltz specter alert advances are so LOUD I've heard them in person and they are loud. Also these were kinda loud because of ecoing through the hallway. But the sound is interesting. And I have simplex truealerts at my school and they are loud to the little kids at my school. They are loud even though I'm not scared of them LOL.

Elevator recall typically doesn't occur until the detectors in the elevator lobby or elevator shaft detect smoke, or the fire department activates it manually.
cpj5694 I knew about the manually turning it on. Sometimes the detectors in the elevator lobby can be a bit confusing.
Elevator machine room devices also activate recall, as do pit devices (if there are any).
I like this alarm it’s quieter than I thought it was going to sound. 🙂🙂🙂🙂
This because they are using chimes instead of horns since it's a hospital.
Hospital alarm are different then most buildings
Now replaced by Spector alert advance and I believe they are all over the world
Matthew Gregory Probably L series speaker strobes. Canada mostly uses EST or Mircom. Mexico primarily uses Roshni Sounders.

Hahahaha my place uses Simplex Continuous Whoop. It sounds like a bloody siren and it terrifys everyone each time they test it.
It's awesome you Canadians use the same type of system us Americans use.
In Canada, there are voice evacuations too.
That’s the nicest fire alarm I have ever heard, here in Queensland and Australia in general our alarms are scary
The tones sound like ones from the Scotiabank Saddledome but a little lower pitched and both of these systems are EST 3's
wish the fire alarm sounded like this at my local hospital

Would inspector sands please go to the CLINICAL GENETICS AREA?
Was the chime coming from the PA system speakers?
Christian Oshiro yeah I think
No it was coming from the EST3 ceiling speakers, the one you see at 0:52 is the EST speaker. At 3:42 the one on the left was making the noise chime
