Here in Calgary there's a bylaw mandating that the fire department must be on site in order to reset the panel. Also, my friend lives in Iowa and apparently his school immediately silences the system upon activation, and security will investigate and activate it again if there's a fire.
@@Twentythree33 Exactly. I work privately armed/unarmed security and one of my contracts is with a large hotel that is seven floors (148 guest rooms including two private suites in total) where if the fire alarm should activate, I am charged with donning my turnout gear/SCBA (this equipment I'd bought myself), placing the elevators into PHASE 2 and with guest list and fire extinguisher in hand (in the event it's a small fire) I then take and hold the elevator two floors below the fire floor and begin sweeping the floors and checking rooms while the rest of the staff gathers/assembles guests in the lobby. Once I've reached the reported fire floor and have conducted my sweep, I would then relay to management via radio as to whether things are all clear and that they can reset the panel or that the alarm is indeed verified and then I would give the evacuation order and return to the lobby to wait for firemen to arrive and give my initial report.
@@michaelomalley592 What is 'phase 2' for elevators? I'm surprised you actually need to do something yourself. In The Netherlands, every public building will send the elevators straight down to ground zero as soon as a hand-alarm is pushed or a smoke detector senses smoke and will than stay there with the doors open, rendering it useless as long as the alarm is not reset. Usually, the fire-department will call the company to verify what is going on while the crews are getting ready for turnout. As they've had a bit too much false alarms by now, this has become standard procedure (in the past, they would just turnout fully, to find out at scene it was a false alarm)
@@weeardguy In the US, many elevator systems have what is called "fire mode" in which an elevator can be operated by trained personnel or the fire department. Typically you would have a key operated switch in the lobby to activate it, after which all elevators will go down to the lobby and wait with the doors opened. You will use another key operated switch inside the elevator to arm it for fire mode. Then, there is somewhat of a "manual" way of operating the elevator, meaning that you can select a floor, but the doors will only close if you keep the close doors button pressed and if you release the button before the doors are fully closed, they will quickly open again. The same goes for when the elevator reaches the floor, it will stop and remain with the doors closed. You will have to hold door open button for the doors to open and if for some reason you let go before they fully open (like say if there is a fire right there), the doors will quickly close again. Needless to say that the elevators will not respond to any calls from outside while in fire mode.

What you did sent the fire department to the hospital for no reason. Congratulations, you just won an award of paying a $500.00 fine & getting arrested for 1 year, find something better to do buddy. Please DO NOT attempt to reenact, recreate, or attempt ANY OF THE stunts/actions you see or hear in this video. A huge thank you to the nurses & doctors for responding immediately to the false fire alarm switch pulldown. This is NOT accidental fire alarm pulling at all. Thank God/Allah you will NEVER pull down the fire alarm switch unless there's a fire in the building.
The most incapable thing EVER done.
Again, Where was the bed alarm? If he had one this wouldn't have happened. Obviously this young man has some mental issues. The fact that the nursing staff wasn't watching the patient mind boggles me.
You little Rebel! You should never EVER pull a fire alarm in ANY Place! Especially in a hospital! you're lucky the hospital has Speakers instead of Horns. I hope you learned your lesson!
Its still unacceptable to pull the alarm no matter what the devices are, the FD still gets notified especially with modern systems
In some states, rendering a false alarm in a non-healthcare facility is a misdemeanor. However, rendering a false alarm in a healthcare facility, or a place where there are handicapped people, is a FELONY. YOU rendered a false alarm in a HEALTHCARE FACILITY, and that is a FELONY, and YOU should be either locked up in JAIL or even the hospital’s MENTAL HEALTH UNIT.
At least, the staff took action. They threw him into his room and called security.
That's no joke but I never heard the message Please do not pass through fire barrier doors before. Where and how do you evacuate then?
You Know Doing Something Like That Can Get You Into A Lot Of Hot Water For That Buddy.
Was it a false alarm or a drill
False alarm , he pulled it no fire
He pulled the fire alarm and got in trouble
You guys can’t tell by the sound of his voice he’s not in the right state of mind
I mean, you can quite obviously see he’s in a psych ward as well
@@TriangIe ok and I was just saying cus people saying he deserves to be jailed 💯💯💯
Why would you pull a fire alarm at a freaking hospital? The title of this video is accurate. This is the stupidest thing anyone could ever do. And you knew exactly what you were doing. Not cool
I’m on the autism spectrum and I’ve been into fire alarms since 2011. What he did was wrong but I do feel some sympathy due to the fact that he’s probably in a mental ward.
'into fire alarms' - clearly one of the young mans issues too. We hear he understands he has done something wrong (police), yet desires to be allowed to video outside his room 'doing this for YT' and the excitment in his voice of the strobes and the chime alarm, and his full understanding of the entire situation.
Overpowering urges can affect us all - take a minute - have you ever had one drink and drove - taken an apple from a street stall without going inside and paying - lied on your tax form !, and we don't have his condition.
You are in big trouble now
I would like to see the court session regarding that 😂
Not gonna be a court session he's disabled has issues they won't prosecute him

Hey Man That’s Not Good You Can’t Do Something Like That You Get Into A Lot Of Hot Water For That. It’s Scare People Makes The Fire Department Show Up And You Could Get Arrested Two For That. So You Can’t Pull It Unless There A Real Emergency Or Unless Someone Gives You Permission Ok.
Why Would You Do Something That.
I hope you went to jail, you might’ve not been in a good mental state but it was still wrong.
Do you think he could have got arrested afterwards or not ?
(As he didn't get arrested in the video)
@@psirvent8 Honestly if he didn’t get arrested his parents or guardians would’ve received a fine, but if he’s 18 or older then he most likely got the fine himself or he eventually did get arrested. Who knows
7:15 Why Do They Have To Wait Until The Fire Department Comes To Turn The Light Off.
Because while it's possible to silence the audible alarm without resetting the panel it's not possible to turn off the strobes (And also the horns outside that are wired to the nonsilenceable circuit) without resetting the panel.
And I think the latter can only be done when it's absolutely sure there's no fire anywhere in the building but I could be wrong.
@@psirvent8 I Know That I Did They Have To Wait Until The Fire Department Got There To Turn Off The Strobes.
Bro pulled the fire alarm for no reason 💀
There was probably a fire in his Head
@@joechiarappa6807 maybe 🤣
The doctors failed big time because they sat on their lazy desk and should of stopped the kid from pulling the fire alarm
They should replace it with key operated ones...for safety. Im not too mad at the dude but still, this isn't good to do this obviously. If he gets better i would hope he can buy one.
You know when I was a little kid I did not pull the fire alarm but when I backed up I felt the pull station and I saw it and It also made me back away from it that was a close call and good thing I didn't pull it on accident.
Morgan Please Don’t Ever Do That Again Ok Buddy.
Everyone: Yeah, we're totally sure he won't be doing that again anytime soon.

I think it’s pretty obvious from the video he’s not in the right mental state. Why do you think he’s in the hospital? Also the title literally shows that he knows it was a bad idea
Lol it’s funny but don’t do that

Blue clothes - nursing staff
Black clothes - security
Grey clothes - maintenance
Yes, maintenance personnel are the ones who have access to the simplex switchboard. They are responsible for locating the detection device, silencing alarm and resetting the system. Then paperwork. Then resetting all the fire doors, one by one. A lot of the air handling units shut down and need to be reset. A lot happens behind the scenes when someone pulls the alarm, a lot of work, and if your by yourself it takes a while and your adrenaline is going because it could be a real fire!
The guy in the black clothes it was public safety you know how I can tell. It’s because it’s soled on his jacket he may or may not be armed because he’s public safety means his safety for the public. He is probably not armed he probably has his own car usually with amber lights, not siren because he’s not a cop only public safety.
Are you mentally disturbed that laughing i scary
