Oh YES Alex what a fabulous little lane. First trip out in our newly acquired vw camper was 19 days in Scotland - this was 1987 - and we discovered a little road around the back of Loch Lomond though it wasn't your narrow one!! Wonderful ride video. 5stars from me xxxxx
Great memories Peter, there are many hidden gems around the area but it does get busy in the summer period. It great to hear you enjoyed this one, it was a bit more involved with the three cameras but the Glen was worth the effort.
@blearyview2254 Ah the Trossachs... Our first stop was at a campsite in woodland operated by the forestry commission . Rather basic and it was late June so of course we were massacred by the midge.
@@Lanes-Explorer5733 The good old Scottish midge, the good news I never get bothered by them. I have no idea why they don't come feasting but am very thankful they don't.
Morning Dave, there were parts on that road that were not so relaxing at the time🤣all those blind bends and summits but does make for a decent ride. Take care Dave.
Beautiful run through there , she's holding onto those last few colours of autumn. I love riding through somewhere with mountains either side, makes me realise just how small we, and everything we have, is compared to mother nature. And who knew those NT's had a reverse gear with anti-slip feature😉😉
Morning Nige, there is something special riding through mountains in the autumn and am hoping to do a lot more mountain routes in 2025. Mother nature on a motorbike seems to be a great combo. Haha, what you do not really get to see was how steep that bit of road was, if I went a few more yards over the brow of the hill then the van would have had to reverse.
One of many stretches of road that needs covering Alex. Shame about the weather obviously, but warrants a return visit. The Tarbet Hotel was another one of 'mine', and Glen Douglas was a haunt of mine on my rest-day, with my mountain bike. I used to cycle across to Arochar, down the shores of Loch Long, and back via Glen Douglas. Sitting with my sandwich on the grass opposite the missile silos raised the interest/hackles of security patrols though! 🤦
Evening Martin, great memories of times gone by. It was very busy around munitions depot with lots of work ongoing although it must have been below the surface. Rain is a constant when you head off on day long adventures and just got to get on with it. I will be heading back that way inthe better weather as there is a lot of great roads.
Beautiful. I can imagine it gets rather bleak up there in mid-winter. We used to live in the _middle of nowhere_ but that takes _the middle of nowhere_ to a different level! Oh, and we had no passing places on our road. One of you, whomever was closest, had to reverse back to the junction or a farm gate! Sometimes ~500 metres...
Thank you 👍 It certainly feels remote but it not too far from civilisation but I bet it gets a lot of snow. reversing for 500m must have been a joy, thanks I had only to go back a few metres.
Morning James, hope all good at your end. I am waiting for a break in the weather as not had the NT out for a while, but it is a terrific bike. Thank you regards the 900. I am surprised I have stayed over that number because as soon as I get a couple of new subs, I seem to lose more, but that is YT for you.
@@blearyview2254 Ah the disappearing subs 😂. Where do they go to🤔,. When I gain one and then lose two I can't help but think of the poignancy of those young women who sang "Will you still love me, tomorrow" 😂
Another cracking scenic little road Alex though like you say it could do with a few more passing places. For someone who tries to avoid the rain you've not had much luck this year. What make is your rain cover all my son could do with one as he takes his bike to work everyday. Heated gloves are already on their way from Santa.
The weather been so bad this year hard to avoid the rain. I will have a look and see the name but they were cheap from a stall at the scottish bike show a few years. An old bloke like me trying to put an all in one waterproof is a sight to behold. So embarrassing haha
I throughly enjoyed that Glen and plan a good few routes up the West coast in 2025. If you thought that was busy then you should have seen the bit beside the munitions site, there was clearly a lot of work going on by the number of cars and vans parked outside. When I was heading out of the Glen, an idiot in a Golf came hammering along the road, thankfully I was able to see him coming.
I do enjoy riding these little golf cart roads 🤣 The UK sub base for those big projectiles you used to specialise in is just a few miles away so the main roads do get busier but the Glen is a bit remote.
Very nice place Alex, Relaxing ride with music to match. I can imagine what this would look like on a nice summers day. Cheers
Morning Joe, you just need to add this one to your list when heading North.😁
very tranquel what a peaceful place 😎😎😎😎😎
Spot on Howie, although I was unlucky to meet several vehicles, but what a lovely place.

Morning Alex. Nice relaxing adventure. Enjoyed scenery and nice music..thank you..the old fella

Wait, where's that great Scottish weather?? 🙂Beautiful scenery, just can't get over the narrow roads!
Haha, those three words never go together, "great Scottish weather" Aye, this Highland track is as small as a paved road gets.

Its a nice glen that, thats the most traffic ive ever seen on it lol. You should have came back over Glen Fruin its nice too and just along the road.

The light rain and overcast conditions add to the scenic ride. The road (golf cart path) was a bit narrow 😄😄 Not many people living around there.
