I recently completed by F2P path to unlocking Sloan in the Section 31 store and I'm here to break down why everyone should take advantage of this fleet commander. Waves take coordination of a good alliance, but the rewards can be huge! So, let's discuss why he is one of the best routes for F2P to go in Star Trek Fleet Command

I’m sorry with all the grinds out there and the issues people still have doing waves, I’ve stopped doing waves, I just find it takes to long to do
between waves and MU its almost a 45m timesink. games long since gotten out of control as far as how much time they are asking for in these grind loops they seem to keep adding monthly.
I rarely do waves either. Good rewards, but I also feel it takes too long to do too often.
Which is fine. I appreciate they have enough to do that I can pick and choose what works for me.
Could they consider a 3 person Wave with less ships. That would be easier with my team vs getting 5.
Do 1 wave to finish your WDBP event. Often you get paid double for your efforts. And yeah, MU and WD are the worst grinds in the game for sure.
I do waves religiously... Everything else has suffered.
It's the skill points that are the headache.
Yeah, I wish I could get the skill points like all the other FC.

I think the need to run a FC upgrade event !!
Still working on him myself... 94/100... He wasn't super high on the priority list since I have FC Locutus and Seven so I didn't pull him every day. But I made it a point to pull him as much as I could because I did hear he had some nice abilities like cost efficiency for FT upgrades.

I got Sloan already but never leveled him up or put on the chair. I got Spock & Kirk, but now after watching this video, I'm thinking of switching Spock to Sloan when I'm not leveling up OPS buildings. Thanks Rev!

I like Sloan a lot. The stuff I focused on was rep increase, hostiles loot, and particle and tradecraft efficiency. I also have 1 in QuickDraw Raiding.
I have Sloan and agree he is an excellent FC. The discount on FT tier and level ups is very helpful as the costs here are huge!
Another week to go before I get him. I went for the tally skin first which looks pretty but obsolete as I don’t farm probes anymore. Wish you bought the video out earlier then maybe I would have already 😂
I have 19 Sloan shards. I can't imagine how much I would have to hate myself to do enough wave defenses to unlock him. I hate waves more than probably anything else in the game.
Haven't done a lot of waves. I've barely started, but I think he looks good.
Sloan is great, had him for a while and makea upgrading FT a lot easier. We really could do with an extra FC slot though than what's currently available since we've got more than originally offered

Good tips thanks. Been trying to figure out for some while which FC to level next. Main is Kirk. But just unlocked the second Command slot. So will use Sloan as per your advice. :)
Question: After the 6H timmer for on duty is up. Do you always have to un-seat the FC then pick the FC again and press the green Confirm button? That's what I've been doing. But if you play a lot it's several times a day. Including now if you have more than 1 FC it will double up the number of clicks.

Brilliant abilities. Sooooo hard to get enough wave credits to get enough skill points... In the meantime, at least the initial levelling up gets you enough to max out the most delicious things, like the Forbidden Tech efficiencies! Mmm. He overtook Spock as my second slot. Good stuff.

Sloan has his uses, but I rather keep Spock next to Kirk so I don't forget to reduce when building my station for example. Thus I only use his always-on abilities. Sadly the Iso-damage isn't available because of that 😢but it's worth not needing to switch often.
Pretty close to unlocking Sloan. I would love a FC upgrade event!
I waited forever to upgrade everyone and finally since this like like 3 month is a row without one just pulled the trigger and got them all leveled

Only lvl 45 here, but there is so much things to do in the day that grinding Waves (which are pain) is not always on my priority list. I do "daily", but then only spending currency on building and rep. Sloan was not near on that list. If I would push building, rep, Sloan, particles and Talios skin I would spend too much time on one thing daily. Not sure how much time in the day I should have.
DS9 is number 1, I agree about SNW having a good shit with a good run
I still have trouble with wave Defense and the whole Store... I keep avoiding the whole thing entirely as often as i can.... But because of that i did not got anything in the Shop
unlocked Sloan a few weeks ago. Have not really upgraded or unlocked much with him. Kinda waiting for an FC event
doing the research first in that faction tree, and it's hard to play wave unless on PC which is not always available with busy life style so Sloan going to take forever for me

For those who have 4 FC slots, what are the "go to" that most people use?
The answer to your question: I have not been pursuing Sloan because I’m not really a fan of Waves. Also, a video idea: how exactly does the game change when you level up to 40. I prepped for months to level up. Met all my goals for the level up except 1 (I didn’t unlock the ISS Jellyfish). Used the 90 days to upgrade final levels and research. Thought I was prepared. Realized in about 10 minutes how different game is at level 40. I don’t remember any video about playing level 40 with new numbers and new currencies. Just a thought for a future video.
Compared with others, how is this months Battlepass? I don't spend much on the game but have a $20 Google Play giftcard and was wondering if I should wait until another month or if it's worth it now?
Save it for the beginning of a battlepass unless you have done all you battlepass events. Otherwise this battlepass is roughly as good as any other and will help with your mirror universe research.

People on my server only do waves. when the waves events come up
Def something you have to organize with your alliance/server, but benefits the players who do!
Maybe if we could ever get another Fleet Commander event I would get excited for Sloan, but since the last one was over six months ago and they've obviously decided to just heap on content instead of developing what's existing, I'm pretty sure they've just abandoned Fleet Commanders.

One of the most bizarre things of the FC trees are that they all have a power associated with them, but none of them actually increase your overall power. I wonder if this is intentional or just another bug?
Sorry haven't touched this tree since it was launched tried for the first three weeks when it didn't work and just never payed it any mind after that

I would like to get Sloan, but I cannot do Waves. Maybe one day that will change, but I cannot go into a piece of content relying on others to help me score.
Since i hate waves, i stopped pulling him at 21 shards to not waste credits.

I do agree on the FT Part though. Apart from that i like Locutus as second.
I got that Tally skin and like 2 days after i unlocked it was worthless because i had the resources to max my Tally. Now i just do low or middle pulls and the skin ends up just being cosmetic.

I know i should work on this, but waves irritate me and now we add in a 20min mirror run per day on everything else so it a pain.

The real part that hurts is his skill points. I'm Ops 36, so I can only do the first 3 rows of his skills, but just to get the Always-On skills to their ops-max will cost me 4750 points, which is ~150k S31 Credits.
Don't forget you get sloan points for levleing him up!

Comment section to me is a little hot. Didn’t realize there was so much hate for waves. My alliance was into waves virtually Day 1. I’m almost halfway to Sloan.
Overall I don't think there's that much hate, but like in any situation those who are upset will make it known.
I miss silent hostiles and swarmadas….

DS9 was on its way to cancellation.. if it weren’t for the cross interest in Babylon5… and the Dominion war mirroring the war vs the Shadows.
TOS is the best series. I much prefer stand-alone episodes where you can just catch one on and watch it without having some large season-long story line to keep up with.
Ugh see TOS is SOOOOO hard for me to watch. Super campy.
It is impossible to consistently find 5 folks for a wave defense that won't kick you out. So, no...I don't have Sloan.

@@thehawk5141 he got the g6 account from a whale who quit. Doesn’t talk about it bc that’s against TOS, but I’m sure he cleared it with Scopely. He gets the rare officer, $20 battle pass, and $100 “drip” pack free from Scopely each month. They didn’t give him Sloan, he grinded for him. I’m just teasing him because he doesn’t like doing Waves and it took him a while.

Unfortunate for me there's just other stuff there is to do I will just have to be patient until I catch people doing waves , easier when you have other members of other allies including your own if that's going to be done , the game does have other stuff that has to be work on before too many people can really get to the waves at this time , plus we all know they have another Park to this mirror 🪞 because this is just part 1 there's bound to be a part 2 possibly a 3
