Hi Phil and President Karen! That’s great looking firewood. Our days in Alaska are numbered to 6 hours and losing daylight until 21 December. At least you’re not buried in snow YET ! Keep the sawdust flying cheers Jeff and Jill.
Thanks you guys . We’re at about 9 hrs of light now but it’s getting shorter every day . No snow here yet but up north they have had some . With any luck we will have a mild winter like last yr and we can keep making wood and lumber all season long . Take care an stay warm
The life of a small business owner, until you have run your own people do not realize how difficult it really is. John Doe public just sees the money you bring in but doesn’t realize what it takes to earn that money and how quickly it goes to all the operating cost, great video very satisfying to see a hard working couple!
It’s definitely a challenge to bring in the $ faster than it goes out . I’ve worked for myself for over 30 yrs and enjoy the challenges of keeping everything afloat an profitable .
I need to get back to splitting . Perdy much been non stop on the sawmill making lumber so we can build more of our pallets and have some lumber to sell . Thanks Arne
Well done, to you both 👍🏼. That was a great load first up, wow. That second green load was a ripper too, 😆. aTwo very hard working lovely people. Looks like it’s starting to get cold there now, stay warm. And the third load! Oh my goodness……
Thanks Wayne perdy rare we do loads of green wood but he’s a regular customer . Been in the mid 20s in the mornings but it warms up to the 50s in the afternoon so great working weather for me . Gota love the sound of dry wood being dumped .
It’s getting there we still have about 30 cord of dry wood left . Had to stop splitting so I could work on sawing lumber so we could build more firewood pallets. Thanks Todd
Gota take advantage of the daylight we have but I’ve got a light over my splitter so I can keep going when I want . Always puts a smile on my face when that load of dry wood dumps out and hits the ground . Been non stop busy lately but I’m gaining ground I think lol . Thanks Kenny .
I won’t cut under lights either it just ain’t worth the risk . Once I get caught up inside on building pallets after dark I will be having the light on and splitting for a few hrs every evening .
Phil glad you did not cut your "OH HEll" moment when you thought the trailer door might hit the car.. We all have been there! But you still are fleet at foot
I was wondering if anyone caught that lol. Scared the crap outa me when I saw that door swing towards that fancy car lol . I can move fast when I have to .
Hello Phil and Karen. That was some great looking wood you delivered. More of a premium quality should be charging more for that. Looks like you might have to get a garage stretcher that’s a tight fit for the trailer. Thanks for another good video.
We get $50 more pr cord than anyone advertised on Facebook and 60-70 more pr cord than the local guys sell for . Usually after everyone is outa wood our sales pick up . Next time I’m at the rental store I’m gona look into renting a garage stretcher . I should take down the back wall ware I had my failed attempt at a kiln . That would add another 14 ft . Never enuf space
Just echoing what others have observed...firewood deliveries=$$$. Looks like winter isn't faraway eh? Down here it's never surprising but it always is a slap in the face. Our springs and autumns are generally very short-lived. Always enjoy your videos. Fun watching others work, LOL.
Love seeing that cash come in this time of yr . Fall can be hit or miss here . One day it could be 65 degrees and the next we could get 6 in of snow or any thing in between. Definitely makes it hard to plan what we’re going to do each week .
Green wood delivery. Got one more to go. Nice load of wood. Yeah winter upon us. Supposed have snow sometime this week. When the shed going up? Keep you all warm and safe
We’ve been thinking of having a woodyard shed so we can keep the saws inside and sharpen em . Be nice to also jump in and get warm instead of running the pickup truck to stay warm . Just gota find time to saw the lumber and then find time to build it .
Great one. So that was about 3.5 hours of driving. ? To do the deliveries. Big loads of wood. Sounds great dumping out the trailer. Have a great week. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
Bout 45 min each way so a hr an a half drive time for each 2 cord load . When we go to pick up logs from the tree guys it’s also about a 45 min trip each way . Lots of driving but it keeps the $ coming in .
Thanks , how’s things going . It’s been awhile since I’ve been over to your channel I will make some time and get back over to see what ya been up to .
@ thanks. Things are going well, It’s been a busy firewood season this year. Finally getting some time to get my own done for the outdoor furnace. Take care.
Back when I hunted I always took the whole month off and nothing got done . Now I got friends that just bring me venison so I can keep the Woodyard going .
Well I’m gona need them ones in the spring when I stack the 12 cord I brought to my house . I’ve been building a few pallets every night at the shop after it’s dark outside
That was a lot of deliveries, I'm tired just watching. I'm actually trying to move away from a lot of my deliveries to free up some time. I've got to spend more time making firewood especially with these short days. Take care, Ben.
Thanks Ben we set up a light over the splitter so that I can keep going into the evening. We deliver about 90% of what we cut an split but it would be nice to have more people show up and load themselves.
That was a great video. It is getting chilly and the days are getting short which stinks but we do what we have to. I have two questions you mentioned something about doing hardwood bundles wondering if you’re gonna start doing them down here they sell as good as pine bundles and also how did you make out on your tick bite Phil you both have a safe week, Lee Hillsgrove Trucking signing off 👍
We’re going to add a few hardwood stands next yr along side our reg pine stands to see how they do . I’m still taking the antibiotics got another 4 days left . Legs and knees havant wanted to go like regular but I just keep pushing . Hopefully they come out of it that was the reason they put me on the pills .
@ awesome that’s awesome. I know I got bit and did the same thing you’re doing and I think what helps to which I might be wrong but staying real active I think helps work it out of the system so knock on wood. I’ve had no long lasting effect and again knock on wood lol
Why is the front row only like halfway full on those pallets? Doing something different? Really nice having deliveries to do now more work to do to fill the pallets back up.
I think when they cut the plastic wrap off they hand bomb some in the trailer first so it doesn’t catch on the top rope of the first stack. Hope that helps. If you look closely at the first pallet you will notice some wood in the trailer.
The pallets are 100% red oak splits . I can lift em an drive around with a full pallet but I lose a lot of lifting power when it’s up that high so we hand bomb a 1/3,of that first stack so the tractor can lift it up high enuf to get it in the trailer . Maple or any other kind of wood is no problem lifting but that red oak is some kinda heavy . We are doing away with the 4 by 4 pallets with 3 rows and going to the 6 ft wide pallets with 2 rows . It keeps the weight closer to the tractor and makes it easier to lift . The 6 ft pallets also have a 4 in air space between the rows that makes the drying process faster than the 4 ft pallets that are just stacked tight .
I’ve always had scissor hoists in my trucks and trailers . I have folded up 2 scissor lifts yrs ago in a truck but I was way overloaded. So far I really like the single lift the N/N trailer has . It lifts anything I put in it and yes I have way over loaded it also . Not sure if my experience will help but that’s all I can tell ya .
We get them from quadel industry’s there in Oregon . There great folks to deal with and actually make the material right there . Let ‘em know you saw there bags on our channel. . Thanks Arthur
So that tralier hauled 6 cord? If so whats the demisions of that trailer? Thank you. Now I see it hold 3 cord u took 2 loads. Still like demisions please. I would not want to pick that 6 cord up lol
The state of Maine says to the top of the sideboards is 360 cu ft so 2 cord but we deliver a true cord that once stacked will stack out to 128 cu ft pr cord
Welllllllllll it’s still there but it’s full of crap . I’ve got a bunch of empty pallets there and a dozen or more empty ibc tote bladders plus a bunch of other stuff . It’s also washed out ware I drive in because it’s on a hill . I think I’m going to build a new loading ramp in the new Woodyard that is on flat ground so it won’t wash out every time it rains .
My advice would be to build em 48 by 38 so you have 6 in of air space between the rows . We found it drys a lot faster with that airspace between the rows .
6 cord is always a good day no matter how you split it. Good job and you are right these short days make it hard for sure!
Won’t be long an I will have the light on over the splitter so I can keep splitting into the evening. Thanks Russ

Nothing better than binge watching Allen family Firewood on a rainy day with my sick granddaughter asleep on my chest
Thanks for your support! Sorry your granddaughter is sick but that’s the best feeling in the world 😊
What a delivery day now you got to gettterer done back at the yard you guys are the best

Thanks Jerimia them dry splits do have a nice ring to em when there getting dumped .
Awesome video, I love the sound of wood coming out of your trailer. Thank U for sharing your day. Dave from Maine.🥸👍🇺🇸
Wood dumping outa the trailer means dollars in my pocket so I gota agree . Thanks Dave
Great job and video!
Thanks Sue!
As always a great 👍 pleasure watching your videos keep them coming 😮😊 ❤
Thanks Todd we appreciate you always taking the time to watch and leave a comment.

Thanks John folks around here like them small splits .
The woodyard is emptying out fast! We have had a great fall for lakes here too! Take care Phil and Karen👊🏻
It’s getting there we still have about 30 cord of dry wood left . Had to stop splitting so I could work on sawing lumber so we could build more firewood pallets. Thanks Todd
Got to admit, Phil. I love seeing you make big dumps in people’s driveways! 😁
Them 2 cord loads always make me smile when they get dumped .
That sounded like a load of bowling 🎳 pins, some dry. Ya these short days sure do suck the big one. Good to see yas busy. Take care Phil and Karen.
Gota take advantage of the daylight we have but I’ve got a light over my splitter so I can keep going when I want . Always puts a smile on my face when that load of dry wood dumps out and hits the ground . Been non stop busy lately but I’m gaining ground I think lol . Thanks Kenny .
Nice trailer loads wood. Awesome stuff Phil and Karen.
Thanks we don’t usually sell loads of green wood but we had this customer from last yr . I like to focus on the dry wood side of things .
Super nice loads of wood there, guys! It's a good feeling to move out some wood like that and have a pay day. 👍🍁
Gota keep them pay days coming in . Always busy doin something to bring in the $
That sounds of clanking firewood sure is lovely isn't it 😊
Puts a smile on my face every time we deliver a load of that nice dry wood .
Love that screech cos it's money in the bank. David UK.
Absolutely David!
Lights are already on for me at night. I just won't run a saw with flood lights..😉👍
I won’t cut under lights either it just ain’t worth the risk . Once I get caught up inside on building pallets after dark I will be having the light on and splitting for a few hrs every evening .

Nice days work guys! Wood goes out $ comes in ! Hard work pays off !❤
Thanks mom if hard work pd off I’d be a multi millionaire lol . I just keep going because I don’t know any better .
Hey Phil and Mrs Karen , 6 cord delivery is one heck of a productive day . Especially with all the driving . 👍🏻🇺🇸🪵🔥
Definitely a lot of driving but that’s just part of the wood business around here . Thanks Dell
Beautiful Firewood. Makes me want some. Keep it up.
Last time you stoped by you had said you just scored a few trees to get cut up . How did ya make out .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood Nicely. I have a stack of 16 unsplit and a pile cut to 64 inchs.

@ thanks. Things are going well, It’s been a busy firewood season this year. Finally getting some time to get my own done for the outdoor furnace. Take care.
Nice load of bowling pins. But I have a rule no splitting during deer season unless I need more to cook some up 🙄
Back when I hunted I always took the whole month off and nothing got done . Now I got friends that just bring me venison so I can keep the Woodyard going .
If you need pallets, gather up the empties at your backyard...
Well I’m gona need them ones in the spring when I stack the 12 cord I brought to my house . I’ve been building a few pallets every night at the shop after it’s dark outside

Do my eyes deceive me or is that hot rod Lincoln at 8:25 in the background?!
I didn’t ask him but I belive you are corect . It was lowered tight to the ground .
I ve been selling green wood to a guy with a dump truck.
Firewood all split up
That’s a good deal. Especially if you can split it right into his dump truck. Quick money!
@ well I used our farms skid loader . No conveyer here yet .
I’m curious about your experience with trailers and the difference between the scissor hoist and the single cylinder hoist you have.
I’ve always had scissor hoists in my trucks and trailers . I have folded up 2 scissor lifts yrs ago in a truck but I was way overloaded. So far I really like the single lift the N/N trailer has . Hi ,l have been following you guys for a couple yrs. Since you gave away the chainsaw. I would like to know where you get the yellow bags
Trailer is 7 by 14 and holds 2 cord of loose thrown wood . We did 3 full loads for a total of 6 cord . Hope that helps .
@AllenFamilyFirewood yes thanknyou!! So how high is sides?
So 4 ft sides @@AllenFamilyFirewood
How much wood does that trailer hold
The state of Maine says to the top of the sideboards is 360 cu ft so 2 cord but we deliver a true cord that once stacked will stack out to 128 cu ft pr cord
Whatever happened to your loading ramp
Welllllllllll it’s still there but it’s full of crap . I’ve got a bunch of empty pallets there and a dozen or more empty ibc tote bladders plus a bunch of other stuff . It’s also washed out ware I drive in because it’s on a hill . I think I’m going to build a new loading ramp in the new Woodyard that is on flat ground so it won’t wash out every time it rains .
Great deliveries!!! Ive got to build some pallets 48 x 32 for 1/3 of a cord to dry faster! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
My advice would be to build em 48 by 38 so you have 6 in of air space between the rows . We found it drys a lot faster with that airspace between the rows .
