Those are some beautiful, straight logs. The moccasins are made from deerskin and are cut in such a way that they will stretch with her feet. I am glad you like them. She is beautiful.
The saw mill is a big part of what we do in the Woodyard but we rarely show it . Maybe going forward we will do more videos about sawing lumber and the income it produces . Thanks Jerry
It sure made some nice boards . We just got a call from a friend that saw the video and wants the whole stack of lumber so that was a quick sale . Always a good day when they stop by with lil Kimber .
It was nice seeing your son his wife and the little baby the little moccasins were great I love to see you use that sawmill it's so nice that you can produce the wood that you need and also produce stuff that can put a little money in your pocket stay safe and see you on the next one
Thanks Dale they usually stop by a few times each week to say hi . With all the free logs we get it only made sence to have a sawmill . It definitely helps keep the $ coming in when the firewood slows down .
There are some nice logs you got there. You're nice when they're free. I picked myself up some free wood. I'm picking sure, it gets some good longer out of some of them. You stay safe.Have a good day, my friend. We'll see you again another one
Big strait logs always put a smile on my face . I did some hemlock last week but it was all junk and every 2 by 4 split so the rest went into the firewood pile .
I get board doing the same thing every day so it’s fun to jump around and do different stuff . Raining today so I’m headed over to see Dana to haul home a few loads of saw logs he saved for me .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood I'm a big fan of free wood...but sometimes you get what you pay for LOL I think back to the dirty wood video. I've had some similar experiences 😉
Woodmizer has a little paper gauge that helps you figure out board feet based on the length and diameter of the log. I have few of them but forget to use them myself. 😅
Great video Phil. I guess the ,,, Grand Poohbah ,,, had the day off. 🤭🤭🤭 Great to have the visit from the family. Great sawin. I like watchin that. Big wood. Have a great weekend you and the ,,,, Grand Poohbah. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
She did Noel. Still trying to figure out doing videos in between her days off, etc. Always nice to see the kids and grandkids show up, even got some sawing done in between! Take care
Right now I can still get away with strait water for lube but once it gets good an cold I will have to swap over to washer fluid at $5 pr gallon. . Full day of sawing I will use 6-7 gallons of lube so that’s why the push is on right now . Goin tomorrow to get 2 loads of just saw logs that Dana saved out for me .
What is a re saw? So nice to have an unexpected delivery show up! Makes for some nice saleable boards. Good to see the kids too, love those little shoes, adorable! ❤💜
A resaw is the boards that come off the log that have bark still on the edges they need to be put back on the mill to be resawed to get a clean bark free board . Always nice when they drop off free logs and they can instantly be turned into lumber to sell . Jim sure did a nice job making them lil moccasins for Kimber . Thanks mom .
Thanks Todd! Got a lot done, and Karen may have been running the camera for part of it lol. Still trying to figure out her work schedule with making videos!
Starting to look like a lumber yard around there. Those are some straight fatties ya got your hands on. Nice to see the baby. Looks like everyone is healthy and beautiful.
I wanted to get a lot of lumber ahead for making pallets later this winter . I also think we are going to start spending a few days a week sawing lumber to resell . I’d like to start building that side of the business as eventually I won’t need lumber for more pallets once we have enuf . Always fun when they stop by with lil Kimber .
Thanks Tim that sawmill has paid for itself over and over. We’ll worth it. We’ve had a lot of response to the ad but many want it dried. We’ll get rid of it eventually. It goes a lot faster during the summer months
Hello Phil and Karen. It’s not quite a wash between the cost of the blade sharpening and the wood you sawed, but at least it helped pay the bill. Nice to be surprised by a free delivered load of wood. To bad that doesn’t happen every day. Sometimes surprises are a good thing. Thanks for another good video.
Wait till ya see the load that shows up in Tuesdays video . I only used 1 of the blades to saw the 3 logs so that’s not to bad I think he charges around $11.50 pr blade to sharpen them . Crazy how much you can make with a saw mill especially when ya get the logs for free .
The woodmizer has been a great asset with all the free saw logs we get . Karen was there for a lil bit holding the camera but ll bean has been keeping her busy .
Beautiful straight logs!! When cutting green boards, say 1 x 10,what is actual cut before they dry?? Nice moccasins!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
When were sawing them they come off the mill as a true 1 by 10 but once they dry and get planed the board ens up being 3/4 thick and 9-1/2 wide . Same with a 2 by 4 it’s a true 2 inches by 4 inches off the mill but once planed out it’s 1-1/2 thick by 3-1/2 wide . I prefer building with true sized rough cut lumber as it’s stronger . Jim sure did a nice job on them lil moccasins .
I wish I was living closer my 12 foot kiln would love to dry it to 6 percent and condition the lumber at 120 Fahrenheit that would be a sweet cha-ching day.
People will pay more if the lumber is dry . I’m going to try and build up some lumber inventory so that it will be dry by early next summer . Maybe some day I will have a kiln
That’s not a bad days pay good way to break up your day I think that’s what I like about the wood Business you can change it up and do different things and make money. We don’t get rich, but we make a decent living and food for thought might wanna show how you do re-saws cause some people might not know what you’re talking about. Just a thought, though enjoyed the video immensely and you both have a good weekend and be safe and happy Thanksgiving Lee Hillsgrove Trucking singing off 👍
I get board doing the same thing every day so it’s fun to jump over to the saw mill for a few days . You’re right I’m sure a lot of people don’t know what a resaw is . I should put that in an explain it in a future video . Making a living from just wood can be a tough way to make a buck but it sure is enjoyable at the end of the day seeing what ya got accomplished. Thanks Lee
Yup that fresh pine pitch on the end of the logs is just ozzing out and it’s wicked sticky stuff . Had an office type guy stop to come buy a few boards and the first thing he said was there sticky so he wasn’t interested . Guess he was expecting dry planed lumber .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood you should have sold him on the idea that he wouldn’t have to tie it on the roof of his Prius because the boards are self adhesive.
Now Phil you say that watching the saw mill is boring but there are a few of us that like watching the mill work so I'm in favor of watching the mill work unless you start loosing subscribers just my opinion
That’s good to hear . I’ve been running the mill about every day now for over a week so Tuesdays video will be on the mill as well with possibly more to come but I really want to get back to cutting and splitting .
Those are some beautiful, straight logs. The moccasins are made from deerskin and are cut in such a way that they will stretch with her feet. I am glad you like them. She is beautiful.
Thanks again Jim special gifts like that are always appreciated. I see Cortney commented as well . Gota love nice strait saw logs .
Hi what is the dimensions of the wolf ridge bagging station? Do you make 1 or 3/4 cubic foot bags? And how long do you cut your bags?
Beautiful logs! You got a lot more out of them for lumber than you would have for firewood. Take care Phil👊🏻
Better $ an a lot less work . I really should spend more time making lumber . Dana said I need to stop over as he has more saw logs for me .
Great seeing the kids and grandbaby….another awesome video! Nice moc’s, nice friend Jim!!
They are super cute 😊
Can’t thank jim enough! Something we will keep forever🩷 such a special gift
He makes some perdy neat jewelry as well .
Enjoy watching man and machine working together to produce such a quality product, thank you!

I like watching your videos I don't know but it's so relaxing watching you do all the work 😂🇮🇪
Ha ha we’re always busy around here doing something with the free wood we get .
Hey Phil , grand daughter is precious . That was some nice looking lumber you got out of those logs 👍🏻🇺🇸

Thanks Frank going to go get a few loads of saw logs today while it’s raining . That snow melt off yet I see ya video pushing snow with the bobcat .
I got some nice hemlocks like that last year. 20” plus. Straight. Very little defects. Makes for nice lumber. 👍🏼
Big strait logs always put a smile on my face . I did some hemlock last week but it was all junk and every 2 by 4 split so the rest went into the firewood pile .
Great work, Phil 👍🏼. Those are some lovely cuts.
Thanks Wayne 1 by 12 s are always an easy sell already sold that pile to someone that watches our channel .
Hi Mrs. Karen O and you to Phil, Thanks for the great video keep up the good work. BYEEEEEE
Thanks Jonah!
Nice looking boards Phil, bet that was a nice change than making firewood.

Good sawing, nice looking pine 👍
They were some nice logs . Didn’t take long to sell that pile of lumber .
@AllenFamilyFirewood that's great you didn't have to sit on them long, you mentioned the price and it was a great number 👍
Love it, the way it was 👍🚜
Thanks len . Always a good day turning free logs into cash . Already sold that stack of lumber .
I like coming home to surprise log deliveries. It's like Christmas 🎄 🔥
All the wood we get is free but it just seems like it’s extra free when they drop it off for us .

Must be dirt stuck to the ends . The logs were just cut an the pitch was ozzing out and everything sticks to it .
