It is not called glacial because it is frozen when it is cooled and looks like ice. Almost any colourless liquid or even gasses when frozen would become white ice.
Glacial acids are almost pure, they give off fumes... visible fumes in European temperatures.
Just like visible vapours coming out of our mouth and nose in very cold places like Glaciers.
All acids which show fumes like this are called glacial for this resemblance
