    Didn’t know Sansevieria bloomed. Learned something new during insomnia. Thank you for sharing.

    This was a good video. I did exactly as he suggested and I am having great success. I had 9 out of 10 seeds germinate. The nine are about two to three inches tall. 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

    Both of my sans cyclindrica/boncels are blooming and someone suggested I try to pollinate them. Finally punching in the right words, I was brought here to learn that it can be done. First night complete. Will do more while they are still blooming. Thank you!

    Mine has grown stalls with honeysuckle-like flowers. I was wondering if they had seeds hanging off like lilies or something. They even taste sweet and drip just like the suckles do.
    I had no idea they did this.
    I'm collecting the ones that naturally fall off.
    No idea what to do with them tho.
    Still haven't seen what they're good for yet.
    Every video I've seen are different sprouts from a different type of snake plant.

    Thanks for this! My mom's snake plants have fruits so I really wanted to grow them from seed. The fruits are still green though and there's a chance that it might be a hybrid as two kinds of snake plants next to each other bloomed prolifically at the same time! Can't tell you which kinds though as I don't know the names. My mom has too many. She even offered that I just propagate by division but they're everywhere that I don't see much point in doing so. I'd rather raise one from a baby. I'm definitely the kind of person who cares so much about the plants I deemed mine while not giving much thought to other plants.

      I think I'm seeing my plants flower more frequently now because I put them outside for the summer months. Seeds used to be so foreign to me. Now I'm going to try cross pollinating when possible.... maybe I'll get something interesting sometime :)

    2 of my sans, Lillian true and Bantels, sprouted flowers indoors. Once their flowers grow enough I just que tip them together and that’s it?

    • @PlantzNThings
      @PlantzNThings  3 роки тому

      Yes, Dance around in the flowers like a drunken Bee 🐝 . Going from one flower to the next. If you pollinated your flower you should notice the flowers fade faster than normal... the seed development takes a few months so be patient

    Today is July 8, 2021. How did you plant the seeds in December 2021? Interesting video though. Found out the seeds I ordered elsewhere are NOT Sansevieria. Looks like grass.😞. But again, very interesting. Thank you.

    Cool video, I'd love to try this. Q: will sans seeds ripen if they've been removed from the parent plant/seed stem? Thank you for the demonstration 💚

    • @PlantzNThings
      @PlantzNThings  3 роки тому +2

      To be honest... I'm not sure... they take a few months to ripen on the plant... I don't think they would produce the seed correctly if removed too early. the seeds have a short lifespan so once they're removed from the plant its all downhill...

    My snake plant is is about to bloom but it's been weeks and the pods have not opened yet. How long do the flowers take to bloom? and how long until they form he seeds?

    • @hana1664
      @hana1664 Рік тому

      It felt like forever for the buds to open, just wait. My plant bloomed for a week or two and was very fragrant (very similar to a lily). It may depend on a variety though. I heard that the blooms produce sweet nectar but mine didn't. It blooms at night by the way. It blooms in sections and each bloom lasts only one day if I remember correctly.

    Does the new plants have yellow streaks or will it be just green snake plants?

    • @PlantzNThings
      @PlantzNThings  2 роки тому +1

      The plant that I the seeds from don't have the yellow edge.... so they won't have it... I'm not sure if that trait would continue from seed... I know it doesn't continue when grown from leaf cuttings

    Hey Bill,
    Very nice this one..
    Can you tell or recommend from where to get those fruits in order to plant their seeds?
    Or even a trusted source of seeds for Sensiveria seeds?
    Appreciate it a lot!
    Avi

    • @PlantzNThings
      @PlantzNThings  2 роки тому

      The seeds are short lived... so they really should be planted shortly after harvesting. It's best if you have a friend that has a plant that flowers... I haven't seen seeds for sale unfortunately...

    Great video, interesting about the seed coating affecting germination.
    I'm trying to find seed to mitigate any potential risk of bringing in foreign viruses/diseases and spreading to my very rare or very old plants. Growing from seed harnesses your local biology if using some kinda natural farming like JADAM or KNF etc, helps them recognize local pests better with a fresh start in that specific environment, even if it comes from the Amazon but you're in Canada instead i.e.
    But I can't find seed for this plant from a reliable source, could you help me out @PlantzNThings ? I only want to get a handful of these started
