“Cycling is a fucking nightmare”…sums up my sentiments exactly. Well said Sir Jules!

Cycling is the greatest thing EVER. It gives you exercise, transport and saves a tonne of money..Especially if your bike is your ONLY form of transport like it is for me. And I have the KING of all folders. The mighty Tern Verge X11. Nothing compares. Its fast, light, super stable .Climbs steep hills like a boss. Stops on a dime. And is the best looking folder of ALLTIME.. Had it for 7 years now. And it's saved me over £25,000 in travel expenses. And got me in the best shape of my life at 59 years old. A Brompton is like a toy next to the X11. Brompton can't even get their gearing right..

I for one cannot wait for you to buy and ride a unicycle , all the best content creators do this I believe and you don’t even have to faff about folding one.

I can ride a unicycle but despite the fact one was ridden around the world, they really are inefficient. Brompton is a better choice. It would be interesting to see how Julian would get on though!

Aww no! The 'Bye now' exit with the wave... Noooo! I shall start an online petition to make -the old bloke there- Mr Hutchings bring back the pointy finger.
You sell the Brompton very well there, make a very good case for them indeed. As I no longer own a motor vehicle, I could even make a case for owning one myself by taking one on the bus and beggaring off to someone else's town (further away than my current riding range)for a ride around.
I really do get the design classic/iconic brand bit, as some things are just darned good to own, look at, and use. Things that have been around and made by the same people in the same factory since God's dog was a puppy. If I was going to collect cycling bits and bobs, I honestly would start buying ancient Carradice saddle bags and old Brooks saddles. I do own two Carradice bags and love everything about them. I also used to own a Harley, but we won't go into that here!
I'm with you all the way on slow riding too - just bimbling along and enjoying doing nothing much at all other than being outside on a bike. For me, the lower my average speed for a ride, the better. It means I was enjoying myself - stopping to hang my nose over a farm gate, take photos, poke about in some woodland and so on. All that chasing PBs and KOMs, fretting about cadence, heart rates and VO2 maxes... Oh no no no... I can't count how many shits I don't give about all that stuff.
Lastly, I also agree about not fancying Fiona Bruce.
Sophie Raworth though... Oh yes... ding... dong!

Just watched your other video . Call me mad but at 64 I want to buy my first Brompton to get about and exercise. Any advise which model to go for. Thanks love your videos you tell as it is :)

I thought of buying a P Line but they weren't available. I looked at the Black Editions but decided the price premium wasn't worth it. I bought a 6-speed model with M handlebars and a rack. I'm happy with the M bars but wish I'd tried the S bars - I suggest you try both.

@@JulianHutchings thank you . Today I tried the C-line electric and also the Tern Verge S8i which has some serious specks . Now cannot make my mind up . 😦

A Brompton is to a road bike as an inflatable boat is to a proper boat. Neither is great at anything but convenience.

A Brompton is to a real bike as Boris is to a leader.

I really didn't need to see this video. I've been hanging my nose over a Brompton for several years and decided that this year I'd get one. Then I changed my mind. Now I've changed my mind again damn you!

@@JulianHutchings I watched the alternative view then went and ordered a 6 speed in black paint. I now regret that decision and think I should have gone for the green. Are six gears too many on a toy bike? Thanks to you I do know what clothing to buy but I’ve been plunged further into uncertainty when it comes to buying the right bag. I’ll make do with a Waitrose carrier bag dangling from the handlebars until you produce the definitive bag video. Yours in anticipation, Befuddled of Leicester.

Anyway I was going to try and make a joke about your dropper post, but now I'm worried you'll try descending with it like that.. probably won't flap about so much.. so give it a go?

You should poll your subscribers about content for the channel. You have so many subscribers and comments on the channel that you should consider hiring staff. It will only be a matter of weeks until you're in over your head.

You are fun to watch but have been half joking in recent times. I can’t see any real reason to buy Brampton unless I need a folding bike (to take it in the boot of my car to some other place). I cycle on my fairly basic flat bar road/commuter bike and can do slow rides just as well. Actually I don’t give damn about all these parameters and equipment, and at 64 my speed is mediocre at best. And I am actually scared of rising on an open road. I don’t deny all these sentimental reasons but I do prefer some efficiency to get from A to B. Thanks anyway!

I do like to listen to you but mate, when you do your 'low' voice half way through your sentences, I can't understand you, could you move away from that? When you talk normally it's great.
