Thank you so much for this video! I'm moving in a few weeks a I've hardly been able to find any videos of what the rooms looked like! I'm super excited to live here now
Awh, your room is so cute! I love the photos you put near your desk. I'm so happy you showed us around the dorm because it helped me decide that I want to apply for exchange to this university instead of one in Nagano! I'm excited to start my application now, haha. Thanks for the videos, Karina! I hope you keep making them. ❤
@@pya1176 I am applying to study for the next academic year, so starting from fall. If I don't get accepted, I will apply for the Spring 2020 semester, though. I know about 3 students from my uni who are heading to KG this next semester, though!
Thank you so much for this video! I will be attending KGU next semester, and I hadn't found any videos of people staying at YUI (just ones of the seminar houses). I had a couple of questions. How are the washer and dryers at YUI? Is it better to just hang dry my clothes? And what are some items you would suggest getting before arriving to Japan? Thank you so much for your help!
Heyy! Thank you for watching my video. I usually dry my clothes and afterwards hang dry it, because the dryer does not work really well. Also, washing cost you 200 yen and drying 100 yen, which is quite expensive in my opinion, so try and find a friend that would like to do the laundry together and save some coins! Do not forget to bring the adapter piece that transfers your adapter to the Japanese one (idk how you call that haha). Also don't forget to bring a towel, they do not provide those at YUI, they do provide bedding. Furthermore, like I said in the vid, there are plenty grocery stores and convenient stores in the neighborhood so, you don't really need to bring like toileterries. Let me know if you have other video requests! I am thinking of filming a follow me around Hirakata vid soon.
@@karinakuswandi7454 No problem! Thank you for sharing your experience abroad with us 😊 I'll definitely start looking at adaptors and converters now. Thank you for the tips! Are you studying for just a semester or a full year? I would love to see you vlog around Hirakata or just more vlogs in general!
Did you need to bring any blankets/bedding/pots and pans etc? Or could you make a video about what you brought withy ou?(I'll be studying at KG this coming september!)
Hi Maria, You don't need to bring any bedding. They provide you with those and they also wash it every month. Same for pans/pots/cutlery, the kitchen is fully equipped. I did bring my favorite blanket and mug from home, to remind me of home haha. The only thing you need is basically your clothes and the items, you can't live without. I do not recommend you buying your school supply beforehand. KGU has a school supply store where you can get all those necessities. I hope I answered your question and I wish you an amazing time at KGU.
I am loving these videos!!! I had a question regarding your phone. I am planning on studying at KGU fall 2019 and spring 2020. Did you buy a SIM card, or are you only using WiFi? I’m a little confused as to what I should do. (I’ve never left the USA so I’m a little lost on everything 😅) If you could share your experience and what you did that’d be awesome! Thanks!
Heyy Sandra! Thanks for watching. I used a sim card. At the beginning of the semester, there are people coming to the campus that will help you with choosing the right sim plan for you. If you have any other questions, let me know!
Hii! I haven't been to a local onsen (bath house) but I have heard that there are some. My Japanese friend goes there sometimes after her basketbal trainings.
Hey! These videos are great! I have a few questions if you don’t mind :) Are you guaranteed a spot at yui if you are accepted at the university or did you submit some sort of request? Have you had time to travel? Do you feel any notable difference between studying in Japan and the Netherlands (difficultiewise)? Easier/harder. From what I’ve heard the classes are relatively easy compared to the ones held at home. Do you have finals week like they do in the states, or are your exams split over the semester?
Hii Simon! Thank you for watching my video. When I enrolled for KGU I had to submit a form where I had to choose if I wanted to stay in a Residence Hall or Homestay. I choose residence hall and I immediately got into YUI. So, I am sure they have enough space for the amount of international students they accept. I have plenty of time to travel. I only need to obtain 14 credits at KGU for my home uni, so that are only 4 courses. I even have Thursdays of. You can make your own class schedule when you arrive here. You are right, classes are relatively easier compared to NL. I think it is because of difference in the level of english for local students and international students. And yes we have final weeks. 1x midterm exams and 1x final exams. I hope I answered all your questions, if you have any video recommendations, let me know!

Do you know how much is the tution fee?
Hi! Thanks for watching my video. I don't know unfortunately.. I was on a exchange program, so I only had to pay my home uni's tuition and not KGU's.
Did you have roommates and just have your own rooms? Or is it your room straight from the main door ?
All rooms are individual, you do have floormates!
@@karinakuswandi7454 Hey! How sound proof are those rooms? Did you ever have a problem with loud flatmates? Thx ❤️
@@annamars9611My floormates were all very chill. The rooms were medium sound proof.
