    Another superb video Aubrey, as you know, I've just got some of the Superblast and, after doing 35 miles in 4 days in them, can say that they are in another league, expensive but worth it for the comfort and versatility!

    Not sure how i missed this video the first time around, but glad i found it now! Great work once again Aubrey my friend. I got a pair of these back in April and I love them! they've slotted into my weekly rotation well and in fact I use them for anything from slow, easy miles up to interval sessions. The responsive yet cushioned ride is a joy :) Keep doing what you're doing mate.

    I think FF Blast+ Eco is an EVA blend and EVA based foams often take time to break in. Also, many brands tweak the formulation of the foam for different shoes, even though they put the same name on it.

    • @AubreyRunning
      @AubreyRunning  6 місяців тому

      Agreed! Hence the confusion that some have. I am fully aware of this but this was my first time running in the Novablast and experience the difference first hand.

    Done 122kms on the version 3 and it’s been amazing. Getting a friend who is getting into running on these now- hope they find it good too! Good to know about the break in period!
    The outsole seems better than my 3 though. At 122km I am starting to see some wear on the fine details of it but nothing too serious! The 4 seems to have better grooves that show fade slower or more depth to fade/give grip for longer. Let me know if you feel the same!

      There are some people that prefer the 3s and unfortunately I have never ran in the 3s to give a comparative view. I will definitely get it to that 100K and see how it’s coping.

    Asics definitely makes great shoes. But it seems that their marketing strategy makes them go Hoka's way. I mean, to create shoes that are really enjoyable to run in but with an outsoles durable like a kitchen sponge.
    In order for you to buy more and often because you are going to really like the shoes. Even though they can make a super durable bottom anytime with the same kind of performance.

    Expecting a shoe to deliver on its true character and ride - immediately out of the box? You literally said it’s a ‘bad thing’ that it took a little more than 10 miles (two 8+km runs) for that Asics shoe to ‘come into its own’. Aubrey, that’s by design and applies to most shoes and the makers will tell you that. We're not talking about opinion, these are facts. Here's what Adidas says about their shoes, word for word from their website, “There’s not a whole lot to breaking in your new shoes apart from getting your body gradually used to them. With fitted sweat-wicking socks, your shoes should feel good on your feet, and after you run ten to fifteen miles in increments over a couple of weeks, your shoes should be nicely broken in and ready for your typical training or racing schedule”.
    Love you Aubrey but 8K a 'long run' & 10 min/mile speed work? Bruhhhhhhh get ya weight up...

    • @AubreyRunning
      @AubreyRunning  6 місяців тому +1

      😂😂😂😂 Love the last section… but sadly sir, I’m coming back from a spinal injury and that is my best currently! I had built up to 3:50/k pace on my speed work but sadly the injury means taking it easy on both the distance and the pace.
      As for the breaking in, I have ran in shoes that have felt amazing out of the box and then got better. The point in my review is that this shoe doesn’t only break in and start feeling better, it actually feels like a different shoe. It’s very firm and very distinctly different as you break it in. That’s very different to the wording in that adidas wording.
