No Hwoarang and having Law and Paul low in the list is just criminal IMO. Those 3 made Tekken accessible even for casuals.
For accessibility, replace Paul with Eddy.

@@1990Thunderbolt yes it was stated in Tekken 6. Jin however transformed into Devil Jin and wiped him out in seconds. Basically Jin cheated and went on to win the Fifth tournament

Wtf! No Bryan Fury?! Jack?! Hwoarand?! There must be a part 2 in the works. They've got to be on there. Also Mishima's pops was pretty bad ass too but I haven't played the games in some yrs so I don't know if he was a one-off for the game that he was in

To me I always think Hwoarang was the main character of Tekken. He has nothing special other than being a great Taekwando fighter and being a rival for Jin.

Probably because Brian is the most boring character ever outside of maybe Michelle. Nothing but a reanimated dead man turned into a cyborg by a forgettable scientist and became a lunatic that doesn't speak. He just rages and laughs. That's it. He has no purpose, no goals, no ambition....except maybe killing Yoshimitsu. He's not worthy of this list. Hworang, Jack, and Devil are though.
Very hard to use, his best launcher is locked behind a taunt. One of the hardest things to do in the entire game

@@gillateen1515jet upper can be used with -15 punisher or whiff punisher. And yeah if you master to taunt bryan becomes overpowered. You need to spend some time on training mode to realize how good bryan actually is

While Kazuya is the mascot of Tekken. I always see Jin as the Ryu or Scorpion of Tekken whereas Kazuya is like Akuma.
Hell no. The mascot of Tekken is old man Heihachi himself. Tekken bowl pins are in the shape of Heihachi. The Iron Fist trophy is shaped like Heihachi. Hell he probably has his own currency, Heihachi bucks.
I'd make an MGS comparison, Kazuya is like Big Boss, the original Snake who becomes the bad guy. While Jin is like Solid Snake, the son of Big Boss who succeeds him as the new protagonist/mascot.

I think he's one of the best characters in general. My favorite Mishima by far. I play Jin more and I think Heihachi ranks higher in terms of best Tekken character, but Kaz is best Mishima for me.

Lidia and Christie making it over Hwoarang, Anna, Bryan, and Armor King is strange. But i gotta give you props for giving Kunimitsu and Jun the love they deserve.
Gotta appreciate that not only in a world, but a family, full of demons and cyborgs, throughout all the games, Heihachi’s counter was always “More Heihachi”. A simple man with some lightning against monsters, and he’s still considered one of the biggest monsters.
Heihachi is that character who doesn't have the Devil Gene, yet, he's strong enough to inflict damage onto Devil Kazuya. Quite impressive for a normal old guy.

When playing Tekken Tag, I use Eddie and Jin because Jin is good for upper body attacks and Eddie for leg attacks making them both badass

Alisa Bosconovitch is another one of the great characters of Tekken. She is a robot, more specifically an android, who also uses chainsaws
Always loved how technical Jin is, not overly powered, takes true skill to put his style together unlike other easy characters

Hwoarang is number 1. His move in T3 when he grabs their arm, climbs up their leg and boots them on the back of the head is the best fighting move ever
That's either Falcon Dice or Human Cannonball.
Tekken 3 Hwoarang is another level. I loved doing the high kick that would shoot his opponent into the air, and then catch them with his in air triple kick.

Yoshimitsu will forever be my favorite Tekken character I love all his designs and moves and he was the very first Tekken character I've ever played as when I was a toddler

The fact that they listed BOTH of my favorite characters separately on this list, makes me VERY happy.
Jin is by far one of the most powerful and iconic martial arts characters in video game history. I put him up there with Ryu ( the goat). Amazing job on the video watch mojo. 👍😎
I never liked to play with him. I think he is overrated when it comes to gameplay. He aint really a good character to play with, law and whoarang are both way better and powerful

King has always been my most favorite and yes that includes both the OG King from the first two Tekken games and his successor King 2 from Tekken 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.
King is my favourite tekken fighter and from tekken 3 onwards the NJPW legend Minoru Suzuki did the motion Capture for the Luchadore

I could put Asuka higher, if only Harada takes her more serious. Thanks to the anime, Tekken Bloodline, I grew to like Jun Kazama a lot more.
Lars is actually Kazuya's half brother. And Lee is actually Kazuya's adopted brother. Making Jinpachi their grandfather as well. Which I thought was cool.
I love Jin because the guy that bridge the Mishimas with the Kazamas and his evolution change from good guy to anti hero is amazing and always memorable. But Kazuya is the most interesting character and is considered the most greatest mystery that everyone wants to solve: why he keeps acting evil, why he doesn't pursue Jin anymore in 7, what he truly thinks about Jun, Jin, and the Hachijos.
Because Jin was in hiding in 7. And Nina only found him because she knew where he was in 6. And went off the coordinates he was at. We know he is just evil, as he tried killing his son Multiple times for power. And Heihachi was in his way in 7. So either way he had no way of knowing where Jin was in the first place. He has shown a lot of times he doesn’t care about anyone.
The guys the devil, takes over and his plan for world domination is.. to modify animals like roger and bring back a dinosuar. Ok then

I can't wait to see these Tekken characters showing up in the upcoming Netflix anime show.
I've seen it. Its supposed to be an adaption of tekken 3's story but without giving any spoilers there were a lot of weird changes & Choices that left me scratching my head.
Overall i'd give Tekken Bloodline a 7/10 if i was rating it purely on my enjoyment but if i rated it soley by how much it followed the canon i would be forced to give it a 3/10.

So I feel this character has been slept on at least in my small circle but Bruce Irvin on ultra hard used to beat my a**. His combos and rushes were devastating! And to top it off he wasn’t a hard character to use. Grossly overlooked in my opinion

Literally Marshall Law is my favorite character and so fun to play with like literally I would use him everytime I play someone and they get so mad cuz I was so good with him like his entire style and the fact he’s based off the actual fighter Bruce Lee makes it the more reason he’s my favorite

Nina is my favorite ever since Tekken3
Nina is one of the most iconic female fighters to come out of a fighting game. She’s up there with Chun-Li in my opinion
And Sonya Blade and Sarah Bryant, which nina it's a ripoff.

There's a lot of omissions from this list I can live with because the Tekken roster is huge. But some of these characters really should've been ranked higher. Also... Where on Earth are BRYAN FURY & HWOARANG?
Honestly, as a Tekken fan, Heihachi and Kazuya should of been top 2. I like Jin, but he’s proven to be very overrated in the series when Heihachi and Kazuya has proven to be more well known to the franchise

The first Tekken game I played was Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on Wii U & I've LOVED the Tekken series ever since. My absolute favorite character (by far) is Jin Kazama, with whom I even managed Tekken 5 & Tekken 6 on very difficult. Since then I've played & own almost all parts (with the exception of Tekken 2). A friend of mine gave me the idea that I could try Tekken and seriously: I will never forget him.

I never got into Tekken. When i discovered Soul Calibre and how varied character design can be when you give everyone a different weapons and nationalities from every corner of the world I was an instant convert. Tekken just doesn't have the same variety at all.
Soul Calibur is basically a weapons fighter version of Tekken. The nationality variety is much bigger in Tekken than Soul Calibur.
@@lonewander6772 okay so firstly they are both in the category of Beat ‘em Up games, so it’s quite cheap to say “sc is the weapons version” of Tekken. Both and SC are made by Bandai/Namco and therefore stand next to each other as products of the same developer- this benefits SC because the creators are able to improve on what they learned from making Tekken by adding a vastly improved range of fighting styles and also variety of nationalities. Admittedly both feel Asia-centric, but SC to a lesser extent with much more European characters.

No. SC is basically a weapons version of Tekken. Obviously they're not exactly the same. But the base concepts is the same. Even the character designs.... at least early on. It's like Capcom making their fightings games. Similar base, but different mechanics to differentiate.

The nuances of a kickboxing vs Jiujitsu fight is far outweighed by an epic gigantic axe vs snakesword battle. If you boiled SC down to - it's tekken but with weapons- I would still take SC.

Depends on the person. I prefer hand to hand combat over weapons. To each their own. It doesn't take away the fact that SC is basically a weapons fighter Tekken. Same company, same developers, even borrowed moves. Just look at Maxi/Law and Hwang/Yunseong/Baek/Hwoarang. Not saying one is better than the other as I like SC as well. Just that SC clearly came after Tekken and was inspired by it's gameplay though it switched limbs for H/V/K attacks and uses the eight way run system.
Great idea for a list ! Lili’s name should be pronounced « Rosh-for » in future lists if you want to approximate the French prononunciation (I’m French). I’ve mainly played Tekken 3 but all the Tekken characters have interesting backstories and motivation. My favorites are Xiaoyu . Nina and King.

Tekken 4 was the first Tekken game that got me into the franchise and I had a crush on Ling Xiaoyu

Lars in my experience wasnt easy to play, so idk what WatchMojo is talking about. I've grown away from Tekken, not because of the characters, but cause the story mode for each game after 5 just was not for me.
My characters that I used were Hwoarang, Xiaoyu, Eddy, Christie, and Lili. I actually managed to consistently use Lili's 10 hit combo, which was a major achievement when I was into the game.
Oh Lars was easy, I don't know what your talking about. He was specifically made to be easy for beginners in Tekken 6, with alisa

I played the franchise since 3, and I just hated Lars. Like I said, I'm done with Tekken.
@@stevefox6536 If he was made for beginners, then he wasn't made for my playstyle. I managed to learn Lili's 10 hit combo, and Lars' combos weren't for me. That's what made him hard for me specifically.
My favorite character has always been Nina Williams… she alone is responsible for making me love video games, she’s the first time I’ve ever taken up a controller. And I still play as her now

King and armor King are one of favorite tekken i seen in Video game plays they have cool wrestling moves like Tombstone piledriver and throw kicks🥊🥊.

Jin kazama and king oh my two favorite characters. I feel like who rang was a character that dropped from the popularity board. A lot of people actually like Miguel. Raven was actually also surprised that he was not on the list. The Ninja Master that works with the military. Maybe another list is inhuman characters that has mainly human characters for roster in fighting games. Like Gor that was a unlockable character in Tekken 3. Also Alex, Jack's, Kuma and panda just to name a few. But still Jin kazama and King are best striker and grappler in the game. You might have Craig modak and Armor King forever grapplers, but King will always be the main grappler King in the series. But which one is better Jin kazama or devil Jin?

Kazuya Mishima is the GOAT, The dude came so far, first a protagonist, then a villain, then good guy again, and now villain once more.

@Ali J Agreed, I like Jin Kazama, but I love Kazuya even over his son. Kazuya just has so much history.
And yeah, I didn't agree with how that last fight between Kazuya and Heihachi went either, but oh well.
I still do hope Heihachi comes back, tho, somehow, lol.
@Ali J Yeah, they'll definitely keep these games coming, it's TEKKEN, as for Heihachi, yeah, he might not come back in the story, but if he is atleast playable, then that should be good enough, I guess.

I'd prefer (if they do happen to conclude the Mishima saga) that they simply focus on another story with many brand new characters all set in the same universe, with some appearances from some of the older characters just for the sake of continuity, similar to what they did in Tekken 3.

I just wish alot of Tekken characters got plenty of character development it seems the creators and devs care mostly about the Mishima family.
I've never heard of "Tekken". But, I've seen people play a Tekken game on a livestream! I can't believe Heihachi Mishima would do those things to his own family! All the ladies in the game are good-looking and I like how some of them have bangs! They all have nice voices!😍 I'd go out with them all. Why did Ling Xiao say "oops" when she won?
