Hi Robin - you have got this packing down to a fine art. I know I have told you that I’ve traveled a lot in my job with a large chemical company. When I first started traveling I packed too much and back then we didn’t even have rolling luggage either. I remember when I finally got rolling luggage how wonderful it was. The great thing about 90% of my travel is it was done on a corporate jet and most the time the jet would fly right into my companies hanger and a car would be waiting there I did not even have to go to the airport. But still if I was having to stay for a week or so I would overpack but I learned quickly not to do that. I’m so glad that you are getting to go places and do things. It makes my heart happy to think of you having fun. I’m recovering from my latest fall and continuing with my physical therapy. Thank you so much for your prayers. Love in Christ
Thank you Donna! I'm perfecting my packing each time - there's always something new to try. 😀I've been thinking about you and praying for your healing and I'm glad you are doing well and hope that your physical therapist went easy on you. Sending much love and big hugs! God bless you my sister in Christ!
Thanks for this. I also was an overpacker and am in the processing of reforming myself. I am getting better and this video reassures me, I can do this. Love packing videos.
This is exactly how I dream of packing and struggle to make it happen but it helps me to see you actually do it! I do have two kids, so that adds complexity but we managed to pack carry-on only for a trip to visit missionary friends in Brazil this year. It made the trip less stressful for sure!
That is awesome Lindie! Packing for multiple family members does complicate things, but traveling with kids presents challenges that definitely make packing light even more beneficial. As I’m sure you know! 😉😄🧳✈️💛
Excellent video!! I've watched several of your packing videos & learn something new each time. 🎉. Make them as often as you want to, as far as I'm concerned 😊
Hi Robin, thank you for sharing these very clever packing tips with us. I love watching your how to pack videos. I also love your clever minimalist outfits. Very inspiring. I find living with less clothing that can be mixed and matched is so freeing. It does make getting dressed in the mornings much easier and it makes packing for holidays so much easier too. Loved your video! I hope you have a great week. May God greatly bless you and your family.❤
Thank you so much Yvonne! I couldn’t agree more regarding a simplified wardrobe. It really can be life changing! 😄😉 God bless you and your family and Happy Thanksgiving! 🧡
Actually been last month to Paris for a 5 day trip - packed everything in a carry-on and was so proud of myself 😅. I really love your channel, you're so elegant and graceful ❤
Thank you Robin I love my Away luggage bought at your recommendation. I also love the pill case I bought two one for my husband and myself. I bought the large ones and I got a list of our meds from our Dr. which folded it up and put it in one of the compartments it made it so much easier than all the bottles. In fact we are both still using them at homes.
Hi Robin, I did not see a link for the Baggallini crossbody…is there one? The quilted fabric does lend itself to dressing up or down. I love your packing videos, but then it makes me a little sad because I think I’ll be missing a Sunday video sooner or later! I am 66 and have been a homemaker most of my life. Just a few years ago, if anyone had told me I would enjoy watching someone clean house and do chores, I probably would have laughed myself silly! Have a blessed trip.
Thank you - and don't worry - I'll be here for the next several Sundays! 😄 Here is the link to my crossbody bag: amzn.to/3R6N6kw. Have a blessed week!🧳✈️💛
Robin, I LOVE packing videos and I especially enjoyed seeing how you put outfits together with your travel capsule wardrobe. Thanks for sharing. Happiest Thanksgiving to you and your family! ~Lorice
I love your packing tutorials, Robin....you always seem to offer a new idea with each one, like the bundle folding trick. We have lived in western Mongolia for 30+ years and I am STILL learning how to pack light. (grrr....) Thanks for your great ideas on this; I AM doing better as I incorporate them in our travels! 🌏
Recently, I’ve only flown Southwest airlines, but they do allow you to take not only the carry-on suitcase, but also a very large purse or backpack. I find it’s plenty of space to pack everything I need even if I’m going for a week or 10 days.
We also fly Southwest frequently when traveling within the U.S. and find their allowances for carry-on luggage to be very generous. The only issue is getting in an early boarding group. I always set my alarm to be sure that I'm ready as soon as check-in starts 24 hours prior! 😅
Hi Robin, This video is so timely! I just purchased a carry-on suitcase for an upcoming trip to Cancun. We had gotten rid of all our suitcases when we downsized to live full time on the road. I have been watching you for 2 years and have learned so much from your videos about having a minimal wardrobe. This capsule is a great starting place for planning my next vacation. Thank you for all you do! Happy Thanksgiving!
Robin, you look beautiful in all your outfits. I wish I could wear wool and cashmere--I am sadly allergic to both. We also just use carry on bags--I have the Away bigger carry on and it works well for a trip to Europe.
@@FaithandFlour Yes, traveling light is great! I also bought the backpack you linked and a pair of mary janes from the shoes you showed. Thank you for the ideas. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
On my last trip I used a carry-on suitcase plus a backpack. It worked well until I had to store my suitcase into the overhead bin. Being short and not that strong made it difficult. I did have help from a flight attendant and another passenger, but I don't want to always rely on others to help me. Though it was convenient not having to go through baggage claim, I'm not sure I would travel this way unless my husband is with me.
I understand that completely Cynthia! I have noticed many people struggling with that on my flights and there has always been a helpful passenger or flight attendant nearby. In fact I’m 5’9” and don’t mind helping if I can. 😉 Thanks for watching! 🧳✈️💙
Thanks for sharing this wonderful tutorial with packing tips. I bought the travel backpack on your recomendation last time and it's been great for overnight and longer trips - Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi Robin. What a great idea for packing so you get less wrinkles! I will definitely try this and the other tricks on my next trip! Thank you for your videos! Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy your trip!❤
Hi Robin, love this video. The capsule wardrobe is perfect and so chic. Where is your trench coat from? Do you have any recommendations for places to find a similar one. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃💛
Thank you Teri! My trench coat is from Land's End and is no longer available. I think there are similar ones at J.Crew, but I haven't shopped for one in quite a while. Mine is double breasted and lined, so you might want to search using that criteria. Let me know if you find one that you like! Happy Thanksgiving and God bless!💛
Hi Robin.... lovely video as per usual. 🐒 Please could I ask for prayers this week! I'd really appreciate them. Thank you! Have a lovely week ahead.🙏🙏🙏 I know that sounded a bit off topic sorry! 😥💌
I still can’t pack for a cruise in carryon only. My next cruise will be around South America in December. I am taking a cruise from Buenos Aires to Santiago. I’m packing my small Monos carry on with a backpack and checking my Away medium suitcase. I could maybe do a seven night cruise with just carryons, but not a 17 night cruise.
Hi Lynn! Yes - 17 days would be hard. I’ve heard that some cruise ships have laundry facilities. That would help if it’s available in yours. Have a wonderful trip and God bless! 🚢🧳💛
We did that cruise a few years ago. Loved it. Hopefully you are stopping in the Falkland Islands. The emperor penguins there are amazing and they close all the schools on the island when a ship comes in so everyone can help host the visitors.
Hi Robin! I have used several of your tips in my packing when I go away; I tweak it a little more each time. ☺️ Do you still use your Calpak items, or do you prefer these a bit better? Great job on the capsule packing outfits! Im still trying to streamline my choices when I pack as well; but I must admit that I am still not quite at your skill level on this ~ lol~ but I think I’m getting there! Happy Thanksgiving my friend! Blessings! 🥰~ Audrey
Thank you Audrey! I’m glad you have found these videos helpful. I love traveling light and sharing all of the benefits. I guess I do have a preference for the Away luggage and using a backpack for my personal item currently, but the Calpak ones are great too and I’m sure I will use them on future trips. Have a great start to your week and God bless! 💛💛💛
Thank you! It is from Land’s End, but when I looked for the link it was no longer available. Sorry about that! I hope you are enjoying a great start to your week! ✈️🧳💙
Hi Elizabeth! I wash them in my washing machine on the "hand wash" cycle and then lay flat to dry. My favorite detergent is the Wool & Cashmere Shampoo by The Laundress. Thanks for watching! ✈️🧳💙
Hi Tara! My trench coat is from Land's End and is size 6. When I checked for the link it was no longer available. Sorry about that! Thanks for watching! ✈🧳💙
We are able to leave things like ski gear with our family which really does help. I don’t have duplicates in my wardrobe, so I still need to pack everything I’ll need. Hopefully this will help most people who are traveling to places where they aren’t staying with family or friends. 😊💛
Ugh! 😩 That has happened to me as well. I was still happy to have packed light because I only had one small piece of luggage to lug around once I got there, but I was frustrated too!
Oh dear, this is the third video in 7 months about how to pack. It must be tough coming up with new ideas at times for a video, hence the need to repeat aspects. Are you going away for Thanksgiving?
