Winning is not necessarily surviving cancer. Winning is living your life regardless of how bad it gets and not throwing in the towel at any point. Winning is not letting cancer define what you want to do. Mark is already winning.

I didn’t know not now was about someone who’s dying that’s such a sad song
good news is, is that chemo is definitely working for him. his cancer is not terminal even though it is at stage IV.

luckily his mom got diagnosed with the same form of cancer (same stage too) and beat it, as well as breast cancer. if that resilience runs in the family; he's hopefully in good hands

People take for granted the fact that they just feel like getting up in the morning or something like sitting down and playing your guitar... when you're sick the last thing you want to do is pick up a guitar, so the fact that he's feeling good enough to do that is a big deal
I completely agree. I was just saying this to myself after the video ended, how I wake up every day and just pick up my guitar whenever I feel like, without a care, and I just take it all for granted. A video like this really makes me stop to appreciate everything that I have because anything can happen to anybody and any time.
@@juscratchinmaballs the thing is even if we try to be super appreciative all the damn time we get used to our surroundings and even physical pain (i suffer from several chronic severe health conditions) and once u kinda settle to a level u gotta get real low again to see what u had before. But i also try to be grateful as much as i can for how great my life actually is. Good that u try too! :)
@@ms_needle I know what you mean by settling into a low and sorta getting used to it, I do that myself. I often tell myself though, that things could always be worse and that my pain is only relative to what others may be going through, that helps me to appreciate what I have in the moment. It kinda sounds like you do the same. :D

@@juscratchinmaballs Yeah I try my best to do the same. I ve met so many people that went through much worse shit than myself (esp in hospitals) it always grounded me and it gave me such a different perspective on life even if I've been really close to dying (acutally was dying from a sepsis before I realized I was not gonna last much longer if I dont go to get help). I am acutally grateful for being sick haha because it made me so much stronger and brought me together with so many people who inspired me and helped me through even though we were total strangers. And aww thanks thats sweet its okay!! I make music to cope (feel free to check it out haha u dont have to ofcourse) I hope Mark finds strength in his music too

Ah man music / being creative can be so exhausting sometimes. I cant even imagine being in ur shoes tbh. sometimes you just need a break. Playing shows must be fun tho. I feel like u r3ally miss it. maybe u could cover some of ur fav songs, u know, take it easy, no need to rush back into things. Honestly tho thanks for all the amazing music uv given us over the years. Cali and nine especially have helped me get through the last few years. U r never alone. 🖤🖤

@@suburbanindie I think he was just saying in general but I can totally relate. It’s like an addiction. I take a break for a couple days and I crave going back to my guitars and my drumset. Sometimes I’ll drop everything I’m doing just to go play for an hour or two

Cancer sucks I had it as a teen, smoke lots of cannabis or edibles I’m still here after going into remission at 16 years old I’m almost 38 now and I had make a wish before cannabis which they don’t just give to anyone only terminal. Keep your thoughts positive and don’t even think about having cancer sending you healing vibes!

An acquaintance of mine a great musician (passed away recently) was put through the Cancer ringer for 4 years and looked like a walking skeleton, was playing "Canon" on his 12 string guitar not long before his death...Now Now is a song i teach my 13 year old student thats been playing for 9 months.
