A lot of people asked about a gofundme to support me and I just want to say, 1: Thank you all so much for the support, kind words, everything!
2: You don't need to donate a thing. Ill figure it all out and ill manage. Watching my videos is plenty of support already! I added one with a 5 dollar goal for all the people that asked for one (lol) in the description
I love yall so much and thank you all for helping me make my dreams come true and honestly I have one of the most supportive communities I've seen on YT in a long time so thank you all for that.

Dude, pls make a course or something where you jump in to play with folk and they pay you to teach or whatever
Many people would be willing to pay for it (not me i'm broke and on south america)
And it will help you get better at coaching, identify more problems on players and all so you can get even better content
There's really only pros to it
You get content, knowledge, meet knew people and get money
      They stop being garbage
      Win win situation

When i was 20 i lost my grandma. I grew up in an abusive house with 4 other siblings and her and my grandpa always did their best to help when they could, she was the person i could talk to about it an not feel judged. My siblings and i would go every holiday for dinner at grandmas and spent every summer with her and honestly they were like our real parents. When she passed it was a huge loss and i struggled with it for years, drinking and eating to fill a void that was just neverending. But one year i finally decided to talk about it with my family and i found out they were all dealing with the same thing, she was their rock too, and we had all been just ignoring it feeling like noone could ever understand us like she did when we all understood each other the whole time. I'd love to hear about your grandma dude, tell people how much she meant to you and let the tears flow, cause the tears are just our way of letting out unexpressed love for a person whos no longer here.

Same thing happened to me, I’ve played competitive shooters before but never far into them, then I started playing rivals and fell in love with the gameplay and actually wanted to get better at the game, I was bronze and could barely even touch silver in Season 0, and then in Season 1 started looking up videos on how to improve and really started loving the videos shotty has put out, he’s honestly been super helpful and having the right mindset of becoming a better player and I just reached Gold 2 last night and climbing. Hope he’s able to figure everything out. If shotty reads the comments, love the videos man, you’ve genuinely helped me.

I am really sorry about your grandma, but I will keep on supporting you regardless on what you do next. This channel is reaching to its full potential and I really do hope that this can be your main source of income. Maybe soon enough you can get a really nice place for yourself and keep making educational game content for us noobs who simply wants to get better at the game. Im sure your grandma would be really proud of you if she was still with us right now. If you need time for yourself, its completely understandable but the momentum that your channel carries has been insane!! Dont give up on your dreams and I hope you will be okay! I wanted to take the time to thank you for this channel and your videos. I found this channel while looking for marvel rival guides because it was the first competitive game in a long time I was enjoying and I cannot tell you how thankful I am for that. I came to learn to be better at the game, but, I wound up staying because of your refreshing take on aim science and your truly thoughtful advice on how to improve. Moreso than trying to achieve a high rank, I've always been more motivated by seeing myself improve, so watching your videos ignited a spark in me to really try to dedicate myself to improving my aim and becoming as good at marvel rivals as I possibly could. As a result, I've found myself taking better care of my health and making so many positive changes in my life all for pursuing this silly little goal of mine to see how far I can go with my aim and this game and that's all thanks to you, Shotty. You and your channel have had such a tremendous positive effect on my life and I'm sure I'm not the only one, so, I wanted to make sure I thanked you properly for that and express how sorry I am about your loss. Your nana sounds like she was an incredible woman and you have my full support as you're navigating what comes next. My thoughts and prayers are with you that everything works out well for you.

I’m 40 years old- former cal-i cs1.6 player…. Grew up, had kids, so I don’t get to play like I used to. I’ve had a UA-cam account for 20 years, and I’ve subscribed to maybe 5 channels. You’re one of them. I share your videos with my friends that get into the game or want to (or need to lol😂) improve on something…. You’ve got a phenomenal grasp on teaching people how to improve. You even taught me some things and now I do eye and wrist stretches before every play session and it helped my accuracy improve further.
People tend to blow up when a new game comes out, and then the game dies, so does the channel. But this game isn’t going anywhere. It’s a smash hit with endless beloved characters to draw from. It’s here to stay.
I really hope that you are able to keep making content. There are so many videos on UA-cam that are just simply bad advice. You’ve got a real talent and this game is allowing you to reach people with it.
    Never give up

The part where you spoke about people saying "I am a strategist, not a healer" is basically bad people regurgitating some comments from top 500 strategist mains. I am a strategist main and watch a lot of these videos, and many of them say stuff like "You will rank up the moment you stop calling yourself a healer" but what they mean by this is that your job is not just to heal, but the part that the bad people that are regurgitating this are missing is that you have to be good at the healing part of the role unconsciously before you can start focusing on the other aspects of the role. If you are not yet unconsciously competent at the healing aspect, you will throw games by focusing on damage or flanking etc. The point the pros are making is once you have the healing portion down to an art, don't stop your learning there, start improving at the other aspects of strategist as well in order to keep climbing. I am tired of my fellow strategist mains saying they can't climb because bad teams, similar to what you said, I feel that the number next to your healing done is not even half the story of how good a game you had on support.

    • @zekromblitz
      @zekromblitz 2 дні тому +1

A strategist gives the team opportunities, whether it be cc, helping FINISH kill (not solo killing playing dps and leaving your team with one healer) or helping your team stay alive so they can do more and have more opportunities to help you win

Hey boss, I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds like she was an amazing woman.
On the note of the video, I REALLY appreciate that you're telling folks to look inward. It's a much needed thing. Every lobby I'm in at the end is "Healer didn't heal, report." Or "Tank didn't cover" or blah blah blah. It's like they say in AA, change the things you can and let go of the things you can't. Ranting and pointing fingers isn't gonna do anything. Look at what you can do better.
I know i suck, that's a fact. Sky is blue, water is wet, I suck. But I try to improve on something every match. That's all I can do. That's all any of us can do.
Anyhow, hat tip to the video my guy, and again, my condolences.

  • @SavRagesAt
    @SavRagesAt 2 дні тому +1

Your video is full of sound advice and logical explanations for why things are the way they are, etc. However, I do want to point out something I rarely see many people use which is a factor of someone who is inherently skilled at video games (they pick up on things much faster) and someone who is not, and similarly, the difference between someone who is a born carrier and someone who can only truly shine when they have people they know and trust at their back. Synergy with another player or players, IMO, is sometimes even more important than the synergy between two characters. Obviously coms are important in high level play for ANY competitive game, or at least can make a huge difference, but what I'm talking about is more confidence in knowing and understanding the people on the other side of that mic. You begin to anticipate what they're thinking, what they're going to do, even before they say it or do it. A carrier might excell at queueing solo and have an easier time moving up the ranks even if they DO have bad teammates, because they're a just that good. Whereas other people (like myself) can't "wake up" or "lock in" to give it their best unless they're in a team with someone they know and understand and can put some faith in. It's how I can personally tell when on one match I'm doing okay but can't find a groove to do better due to other teammates and another where one player is that carrier who gives me opportunities to gain momentum and get a better groove in a given match. Some people are leaders and some are followers. And I think that needs to be addressed more. Not everyone can reach that potential on their own. It's the concept of "you're only as strong as your weakest link," like if THAT'S true, then it means being the weakest link also has value if they're utilized correctly. That might not be the best way to put it, but some of you will know what I'm trying to say here. Regardless, it IS just a game and even if you wanna seriously become a GOAT, it still shouldn't be taken THAT seriously. Just try to have fun, and if you aren't, don't sweat, find a new game and move on.
And P.S. I am so sorry to hear about your Nana... From the sound of things she probably knew exactly how far you'd go with a little help. Subscribing to you now just to help prove her right, even just a little bit more. Keep going brother.

I like the idea of these videos but they are 100% bs ill be honest lol. "The ONE thing youre missing that can help you rank up" lol sounds like all those get rich quick scams that used to be all over. Like the alpha bro packages. "The ONE thing you need to do to pick up women EASY"😂😂 In reality past a certain rank its 100% a RNG fest without a team. Ive been in gold 1 solo que for days now. I have over 100 hours and 15+ hours on the characters i play in comp. Ive been playing ranked/comp games for 15+ years. PleaseTrust me when i say There is NO ONE THING you're not doing to rank up😂 just play and practice over time its that simple. If you dont see improvmwnt over time the games not for you. Simple as.
EDIT: The assumptions, ego and projecting in these replies clearly show why im 100% right in the single statement that SOLO que'ing out of gold is absolute rng hell. At no point did i ever state i couldnt not possibly be better or that i dont make mistakes or that i believe i should be a higher rank than i am (Gold1)😂 A lot of you need to grow up fr.

This video needs to be tagged shared and pinned everywhere. I’ve been an athlete and an individual sport athlete most of my life.. no body likes to hear they’re the problem which is why I loved individual sports. I know I’m the problem, I know I needa work on things, and each time I go out I get a little bit better because of that. If you don’t take that mental switch you’ll never grow in this game in sports or your own life. In a team based game sometimes instead of putting the blame on I’ll get on the mic and try and tic people off to try harder for giving up on the objective to soon or whatever the case may be. Good reality check vid.
Updated after watching the whole thing.. dude sorry for your loss, nana’s are the purest thing on the planet. Just like the game you’ll bounce back just keep holding strong.

Hey man, first of all, my sincerest condolences, truly.
And 2nd, I've been playing comp on higher level for most of my life and you legit have been the first youtuber that I discovered that EXACTLY thinks and verbalizes things exactly the way I do. I always wanted to turn this into my career too (next to getting into the film industry as an actor), but I have always severely struggled with discipline, and now watching your channel I feel like: well theres already another person that thinks exactly like me, so I wouldn't add anything new, but, mainly its my pure lack of discipline and the pressure of people in my life always telling me I would make it big, could've turned a few things into a career and turned them all down, now I'm close to 30 and I'm here with my **** in my hand feeling helpless. But for some reason your videos are funnily enough reminding me of who I am and what I have in me, and that we share soo many similarities, I feel like if we would talk it would be literally like talking to a mirror, I don't think (online at least within the gaming community) I ever discovered someone like that. I have irl friends like that but they pursue completely different things.
I have no idea where I am going with this but why I am telling you this, I just discovered you a few weeks ago and just hearing your voice and using exactly my thought processes to help others is... I don't even know, I don't know if I find the strength at my age to become disciplined because I haven't done much with my life except help people psychologically and been always the mentor for others, but never as a career, always put everyone before me, which now cost me a lot.
Still, no idea where I am going with this, but you are amazing and you deserve all the success, and I hope I can channel that inner me/you and make something similar happen, because I truly swear, you're like another me.
Hit GM last season and wanted to become a streamer and maybe partially youtuber, and I think I got everything I need to make it happen, just the discipline I don't, but all I can say is I will truly miss your videos while you figure out your life, but I can tell you are such a genuine soul and life will turn out greatly for you, your ethic and genuine no bullshit attitude, just straight not dancing on eggshells approach is what people today need to hear, it's what I do with friends irl and online friends, though I never rly had anyone on my level in the same game, so I've been just a solo Q player through and through.
I'm just writing a wall of death here but I don't know, I don't open up like this, especially not in a comment section on youtube, but I do wish there would be ever a chance where we could just chat and I could pick your brain, because as I mentioned before, you remind me of an irl non gamer friend thats just another version of me, and you are exactly the same, my content would essentially look like a copy of yours without wanting to copy it but because my personality type and teachin style is just so similar.
I don't think you'll ever read this, but one more time my sincerest condolences and I know you will make this your career because you are extremely wise and knowledgeable and people that know that 'blaming' themselves only is the only way to improve. You have no control over the actions of others, but you have the control over your own actions and how to play around a team that seems suboptimal together with a healthy mindset and remembering the 30 30 40 rule, its all statistics. If after 100 games you're not improving, it is for a fact your fault, most people should know that beforehand, and most don't realize that even the best players can have a 15 games lossstreak, its just statistics.
Anyway, you're amazing, I probably wrote all of this out for nothing and to myself, and you are griefing and dealing with difficult times, and you clearly had a wonderful grandmother, and I swear you're gonna stay pretty much my favorite youtuber.
In the hope some day some time we get the chance to chat, but probably so many want that, but it would be so fun to bounce ideas and worldviews of someone so fucking similar to me.
Keep up your amazing work, I will closely follow all of it.
    True and genuine appreciation.

I know what it's like to lose grandma, and I know what it's like to not really know how to feel when it happens. I recently lost one of my dogs and I had to thank her for teaching me how to grieve. I want you to flourish because I think you deserve it, and you seem like a really smart guy who understands humility. A little out of my pocket isn't much to ask so a good guy gets back what he's putting out.
Good luck man, you can only succeed with a mentality like yours.
Oh and actually on top of all that, I didn't even have to pay you when my aim got like a thousand times more consistent when I watched that video about sensitivity training so a few bucks is only fair lol

Your comments on stats not mattering are spot on, especially with the damage example. It's actually why I don't play moon knight as much now because I found my damage numbers were huge but I never secured kills since it was super spread out damage often into tanks so I clearly wasn't playing him well enough. What really matters is where are those numbers going. Dps that only pick off healers and dps and and barely hit tanks will often have lower damage numbers. Healers that keep up the top performing dps will have lower healing than those keeping up the tanks that are positioning poorly, but they probably carried the fight if it let the dps wipe the enemy team. I've often found the final hits vs damage ratio to be telling since lower damage with higher final hits means the targets they shoot aren't living to get healed typically (with obvious exceptions).
Your videos have been great also, though its understandable if you have to step back some with what's happened in your life.

We love you Shotty! I listen to your yaps almost every day on the way to work and they provide great advice and inspire me to help my team stay calm and honestly inspire me to make my own videos. I just lost my Papa on the 4th and he was one of the toughest men I ever knew so I understand that loss and know it isn’t easy. What helps me the most is reminding myself that I knew he loved me and he knew I loved him. Another thing that has helped is looking back on all the good times we had together. Anyways now I’m yapping so I’ll cut it here. Peace and love bro, keep up the good work.

I agree about the Strategist vs healer yap session, and I was once that healer. I was like this when I started my hardstuck plat 1 journey. I just started to really focus on positioning and risk vs. reward that sort of thing, and I had some frustration with healing too much and losing.
Back then I watched some of Coach Mills's videos and he went over how heal-botting can lose you games, the argument is: as a healer your job is to make the room for error bigger for your teammates right? If you just heal while your teammates stay in the open or are constantly being harassed by off-angles, then you can do something about that too. And I wouldn't say that's by flanking or being like a damage, most of the time (mantis is an exception and as Luna you can make some plays). If you focus your strategic abilities to help the one teammate that can go clear that off-angle or go kill that iron-man throwing the sun at the backline, then you make your team's job easier by releasing pressure from your tanks. With these plays you can release that pressure from your tanks or other support, and you increase the healing where it counts, when your tanks are being aggressive and effective taking the necessary pressure.
Now when I play support I think of it like dealing with rates: I heal at this rate, that Iron man or punisher deals damage at that rate, my tanks are open or are taking pressure at this rate. When I sense that a flanker or a damage at an off-angle who vastly changes any of this rates is going to get in position, then I have insight on what makes or breaks the next fight in the game. That's when it's necessary to weigh the options of splitting with one of your duelists to an off-angle or if you're really talented, taking care of it yourself.

I personally love this channel and think it is so unique, I have never seen content like this in any game ever let alone marvel rivals, like people talk about stuff like this here and there but I love how you always put it in one spot and go into so much detail. I hope your living situation works out and you figure that stuff out. Will be waiting for your next video since I’m always excited when you post new stuff! I'm sorry for your loss man, there's nothing that can really capture the feeling when you lose someone so important, but I'll be here to listen to you yap whenever you have time. Only just finished the video. Bro I am just so sorry to hear about your Nana, her support of you will forever live through this channel and you will always have that memory of her through every success this channel brings, I am sorry for your loss and make sure you take the time to properly process things and look after yourself.
In terms of your youtube stuff, phone mics are good enough for yap sessions, if you have a laptop or iPad or even your phone probably, download some of your old gameplay videos and you should hopefully still be able to throw out a yap session once a week to try to keep the momentum and growth going until you get settled somewhere new and can go back to making more in-depth content. Truly wishing you all the best in your wellbeing and success.

i was a gm tracer in ow back in 2016-17 and here’s just some things i have to share. overwatch and marvel rivals are mainly about planning, positioning, communicating, and execution. if you choose the right character on the right map, position yourself in the right way, and execute your play, over and over and over again eventually you’ll have an understanding of what works and what doesn’t at a higher level then others. rinsing and repeating this is the formula to getting better at hero shooters in general. but staying alive is what wins games. if you’re constantly dying make sure you know WHY you’re dead and not HOW you’re dead. anyone can tell you how you died but if you know why, you can fix your mistake and become better. grandmasters and top 500 players are just people who did all of these things more than anybody else successfully. long story short, if you work on understanding the game and putting time into it, success will follow but the line is long. but another tip is learning how to play every role efficiently, i’m not joking if you’re solely playing dps and try tanking/healing for a week i guarantee you will be better as a duelist after that week
