Here are 3 foam roller exercises I use to relieve symptoms of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome:
    0:00 Introduction
0:33 Side of ribcage - up and down
1:02 Side of ribcage - forward and back
    1:36 Back/top of shoulder joint
Please please please use a soft foam roller in order to prevent more tension being created.
I also like to roll out my upper arms and lower arms if I have time.

Just what I was looking for. Muscle knots/triggers in my thoracic outlet area/shoulders pinching/compressing nerves. A God awful syndrome. Thank you!

Can you explain more why you need soft foam roller? What's the biological explanation?

Great question! So the goal with foam rolling is to gently compress and release the tissues so that interstitial fluid gets moved through the system more. Ideally we want our tissues as soft and relaxed as possible so that the soft foam roller can get into nooks and crannies a little better. The challenge I've found with a harder foam roller that most people use is that it can cause pain and therefore increase tension and stiffness. It's hard to compress something that's all tightened up!

Do you have any recommendations for a soft foam roller on amazon? I got a hard one at home so i figured i might order a new soft one, got it today and its way too hard aswel doesn‘t feel comfortable at all at the ribs area

Yes I absolutely do! I use and LOVE the one I put below. Although I bought it in the half size 18" x 6" instead so it's easier to move around. Hope that helps! Let me know how it goes!

What about massaging/ trigger point release of the scalene muscles where this compression takes place.

For some bodies that can absolutely work! However many people with TOS that I've worked with have a lot of cervical spine instability so pressure directly on the neck ends up creating further issues.
