You remembered correct, the celestial vindicators are more turquoise where the celestial knights are the blue ones (so are the Tempest lords and knights of azyr if I recall correctly).
I actually go out of my way to paint my Stormcast without any Gold. My current color scheme is black-grey armor with burgundy robes and shoulderpads, white decorative aspects like the little symbols and Sigmar faces on shields, and silver for the metallics. I really like how it looks, and it's inspired me to make a whole faction backstory for them.
Hey thank you for this. Not only did it give me a good idea to pain these guys but just the manner in which you show painting broke it down pretty well. Thanks.
I love these videos. I used one to help me decide my Tyranid scheme for Leviathan. More Skaven and Stormcast options please! I’d love to see the turquoise!
Fantastic work Andy! Great content as always! Could we possibly get a quick video on the more steel coloured scheme potentially a bit darker and dingier
I use grey seer and celestra grey myself. Its a great tip. On the regular gold stormcast i base the white parts on the shield /pauldron grey seer and then go over with white scar. Great video series thanks.
cool video the blue scheme reminds me of the Tempest Lords and yes there are a red one the Celestial Warbringers i remember a green scheme it was green armour with a white shoulder pads cant remember the name though.....keep the videos coming they awesome
Brilliant as ever. We've been talking about painting Stormcast armour so it reads as different textures and materials. One of my group wants to paint them as terracotta warriors. I want ones with armour made of marble, old stone, granite or looking like samurai wooden armour. We're going to have fun experimenting!
I'd love to see the Ratling Cannon..thing be done with various tonal changes between the different pieces of wood, make it like a class on different wood filters and washes to make it look cobbled together.
The Astral Templar was definitely my favorite. Those colors were just fantastic. I always thought Celestial Vindicators were turquoise too. They definitely look better that way. Painting them that dark just makes them look like fantasy Ultramarines. Still excellent work on all three though.
Your recipe for white armor looks great. It does read a little gray for my tastes but it’s a solid color scheme nonetheless. Do agree with the blue shield though, a white and gold shield for the Maelstrom would be more striking. Great content, thank you for posting these!
I would love it if you did a turquois paint scheme for the celestial vindicators. Maybe you could do a character in the more turquois color scheme. I love turquois and I love painting against the grain as it were. Doing something a little different just because no one else seems to be doing it.
Marlstorm is probably my favorite. Id like to see how other colors than blue would look on that scheme. But they all look greats. My favs in order were probably 3, 2 than 1
That's the first time I've seen a Celestial Vindicator that blue. It's not a bad scheme, but it feels a lot like they're fantasy Ultramarines. Teal is definitely my preference. As for lesser known Stormhosts: the Stormblood Guard. They're silver and red and their lore is that they bleed lightning. They're a nice blank slate to do whatever with.
Hi great video but I definitely prefer the turquoise scheme for the celestial stormhost and would love to see another video where you do the celestial turquoise scheme
I love these videos. I used one to help me decide my Tyranid scheme for Leviathan. More Skaven and Stormcast options please! I’d love to see the turquoise! My old Stormcast I painted Gold with a Gal Vorbak Red for the pauldrons, shields and capes. I really like it but I want to change it up with the new models and want lots of options please! I’ve also not decided on Skaven theme yet, thinking I might do 2 or 3 to break up the hoard and make them look more ragtag.
Cool stuff! I'm guessing at this point I'll get a tiamet painting scheme once you've painted every single other warhammer miniature in all their potential schemes. 😉
Since you mentioned green stormhosts, I'd love to see your take on one of them! The most "green" that come to mind are the Sons of the Gladius, who have pure green armour with white pauldrons and gold trims, and the Ghyran Guard, who have slightly green-tinted gold armour with green pauldrons and shields. :)
I think on the Maelstrom of Light with the new Liberators, the shields would be a GREAT spot to reintroduce the red they're suppose to have in their colour scheme.
Have been planning to paint up my SCE as Astral Templars. I've seen a few method videos but never one using Volupus Pink, so gonna have to give that a try with a tester model and see how it comes out. Also there seems to be a move to make the Celestial Vindicators just the SCE equivalent of Ultramarines, and where's the fun in that?
I for one would love to see that turquoise scheme. Does each faction's Reclusians stay within their faction, or are they transferred to a special Reclusian faction to make it easier to tend to their specific needs?
Weird when I'm googling the Celestial Vindicators most the images coming up are the more Torquoise. Always thought it was weird that the Astral Templars are so similar in colour to Celestial Warbringers stormhost.
Oh I absolutely love the lore of the celestial vindicators so I am going to have to go with this faction thank you! I'm going to go with turquoise so what paint(s) would you recommend?
I've seen some people do a pale blue, like the blue used in the official example of this scheme online. There's no rules, you can go with what you liked best when there's very little artwork, check out what other people have done with their astral templars and see what you like best!
Yeah, that Celestial Vindicators scheme looks so wrong. If I did mine in them, it would be the Sotek Green method I did for my old army. But now I've moved to the Iron Thanes with their red, silver, white, and teal colour scheme. Yes, it's busy but I like it. Out of these I like the last one you did.
The colour scheme for my stormcast eternals are leadbelcher, 2 coats of nuln oil original formula gold trims and orange pauldron. Ther r called Templars of the Forge. A Chamon realm base of operations they believe in the great forge of Grungni.
Love the video, but that's not a Celestial Vindicator (they're in teal , and my favourite scheme / army I run). You've painted a 'Knight of Azyr', Andy, which has that blue and white scheme. They're still in teal on all image searches. The only change went from having Sotek Green to Incubi Darkness as the base style colour - but I stick with the Sotek scheme for the bright colours! I Am onto my second iteration of the army with a slightly updated, and cleaner painting style. Also a fanboy like yourself!
During the first and second edition they had different shield markings to different the hosts. Maelstrom of Light had the Hammer with Lightning (to mark them as one of the first hosts) while Knights Excelsior had a sun.
My Celestial Vindicators are a strong Sotek Green, I googled them and most of the ones I saw were similar to mine. Your blue one looks nice but it's not quite like any Celestial Vindicators I can see on the googs
I’ve done a few videos on white armour now, it’s no bother once you get the right tools for the job! Get the right white paint for the tone in your head, that’s the most important step!

Love hearing that, thank you!

Brilliant colour schemes Andy. So happy that there are more options than the standard gold.
Yeah it’s cool to see something different!
More interesting schemes. Keep up the good work Andy.
I'm so looking forward to Skaventide, it will push my clanrats number near to 300 (going all the way back to WFB days!) Great content as always :)
Fantastic work Andy! Great content as always!

Cheers Andy! Think I will start Anvils of the Heldenhammer!

I love them gold. The golden sigmarines is what caught my eye and got me into the hobby :0
I do them gold as well, purely as competition to who is the better golden warrior between Stormcast and their 40k variant in Custodes
Mine are all gold too!
Thank you for doing the white, God Bless you
Haha thanks
I'd love to see the Ratling Cannon..thing be done with various tonal changes between the different pieces of wood, make it like a class on different wood filters and washes to make it look cobbled together.
I would love to see how you paint the prosecutors in the anvils of heldenhammer scheme
The Astral Templar was definitely my favorite. Those colors were just fantastic. I always thought Celestial Vindicators were turquoise too. They definitely look better that way. Painting them that dark just makes them look like fantasy Ultramarines. Still excellent work on all three though.
thanks mate! love your astral templars
Thank you!

I'd like to see your take on the older style Celestial Vindicators
I would love it if you did a turquois paint scheme for the celestial vindicators. Maybe you could do a character in the more turquois color scheme. I love turquois and I love painting against the grain as it were. Doing something a little different just because no one else seems to be doing it.

Which paints would you use for the turquoise? Akhelian Green and Sotek green? I would love to see more Skaven and Stormcast.
I like 👍 all 3 , but white more. I want to see the silvery ones, with the faith. And the turqoise.
Cool stuff!
I'm guessing at this point I'll get a tiamet painting scheme once you've painted every single other warhammer miniature in all their potential schemes.
😉

Just got my Vermintide box, and i plan on using teal for my stormcasts.
Nice!

Heck yeah!
🙌
I for one would love to see that turquoise scheme. Does each faction's Reclusians stay within their faction, or are they transferred to a special Reclusian faction to make it easier to tend to their specific needs?
I see they might want to leech from the ultramarines fame and success here, but the turquoise would be much more unique
Reclusians are in every Stormhost.
Weird when I'm googling the Celestial Vindicators most the images coming up are the more Torquoise.
Always thought it was weird that the Astral Templars are so similar in colour to Celestial Warbringers stormhost.
Celestial Vindicators are turqoise. He painted the Storm Lords.
How do you varnish metallics?
Oh I absolutely love the lore of the celestial vindicators so I am going to have to go with this faction thank you! I'm going to go with turquoise so what paint(s) would you recommend?
You should put a Bretonnian Helm on the Stormcasts. That make them look much better :D
😄
Agreed, Turquoise for the vindicators is better than the dark blue. Also your lore is correct.
Thank you!
There's something about the full on gold warriors that i really like. so while i stick to my gold scheme, these look great too
Yeah it’s cool to have options, mine are all gold too 😄
@MediocreHobbies I started making them gold before I even saw this video, so maybe if I get more at some point will i change scheme
These look great, it must be true, I saw it on the Interwebs.
What color would you do capes for astral templars
I've seen some people do a pale blue, like the blue used in the official example of this scheme online. There's no rules, you can go with what you liked best when there's very little artwork, check out what other people have done with their astral templars and see what you like best!
You should do the Turquoise one

But now I've moved to the Iron Thanes with their red, silver, white, and teal colour scheme. Yes, it's busy but I like it.
Out of these I like the last one you did.
What colors did you use for the bases? Plays off the blue very nicely, and I've been struggling to base my blue Knights of Azyr
Basing scheme is in description!
@@MediocreHobbiesoh I'm dum
I have the old citadel how to paint stormcast and the celestial indicators are turquoise. I like the turquoise better than dark blue
Same!
The colour scheme for my stormcast eternals are leadbelcher, 2 coats of nuln oil original formula gold trims and orange pauldron. Ther r called Templars of the Forge. A Chamon realm base of operations they believe in the great forge of Grungni.
Suggestion for Skaven minor faction colour scheme, Clan Volkn!
Come back again tomorrow 😉
I feel like a 1/2 n 1/2 white and blue shield on the maelstrom of light could be cool too
Oh yeah it would!
Love the video, but that's not a Celestial Vindicator (they're in teal , and my favourite scheme / army I run). You've painted a 'Knight of Azyr', Andy, which has that blue and white scheme. Did they chamged the name of the stormhost? I thought the wihte/blue/gold were the Knights Excelsior.
Knights Excelsior is still the same color scheme.
During the first and second edition they had different shield markings to different the hosts. Maelstrom of Light had the Hammer with Lightning (to mark them as one of the first hosts) while Knights Excelsior had a sun.
Hallowed Knights next?
I like the actual turquoise more then the blue.
Last one is my favourite but after painting my space wolves in grey seer i got bored of that real quick and now selling them!
My Celestial Vindicators are a strong Sotek Green, I googled them and most of the ones I saw were similar to mine. Your blue one looks nice but it's not quite like any Celestial Vindicators I can see on the googs
Reikland?
The don't need to be gold... But they will
Firdt to be forged, never to fail!
👍
THEY DONT NEED TO BE GOLD WWWWWWHHHHHHHAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTT that's heresy fr
But also cheers this was a fun watch
I want to do a White armour army, but white scares me :(
I’ve done a few videos on white armour now, it’s no bother once you get the right tools for the job! Get the right white paint for the tone in your head, that’s the most important step!
Stunning dude and will be attempting the Astral Templars. Add me down as a +1 for a turquoise Celestial Vindicators please.
"Sounds like were collecting the power rangers"...
You know you need to do a set of power ranger inspired Stormcast now, right?
Damn it
Literally every image I've found other than yours is turquoise. Where were you looking?
No idea 😄
Great video, now show us turquoise!! 😀
Mooreee Anvils_of_Heldenhammer
Did them last week!
@@MediocreHobbies Yes, I know, I saw it and it was great:) so reed more blackkk :):)
Blooded Dawn. A Storm Host that have been fighting children since they were children.
I think they ruined colours on stormcast for me, they look so strange without metallics. Nice work trying to break that mould though!
Fair enough!
They don't have to be gold? I know Heresy when I see it.
Hahahaha
