#1- You have a beautiful home!! I'm envious of your garage! I can't get single modern vehicle in mine- my house is 85 years old! #2- its is breathtaking watching the parents care for their eggs-then fry! Their colors are electrifying! And how they hover over them, protecting them is amazing. They are a good example for all of us! #3- Is that Gorgeous Dovii trying to bit your right shoulder? He is the most handsome Dovii I've ever seen! That blue shimmer is the envy of the fish world! Its obvious why he's a blue ribbon winner!! I'm new to the channel, by way of your friends John and Lisa of KGT. So glad I checked out your channel!!! Later, dude!
Great video ! I imagine it was quite an effort to get that footage. So relax and have a Corona .... “tank water that is ...” yellow jacket gold, Cichlid tea ! :) Stay healthy, creative, and retain a sense of humor, Jim
LOL Ty James for stopping by and supporting us! The footage was a bit tricky but thats the fun of making videos and I am always looking to bring something you might not have seen before. Again ty for all the support
This is extremely crucial that I dont see many UA-camrs discussing. Kept cichlids for years. I have a 220 gallon acrylic tank with a very large male caquetaia Krausii show fish. This is key, when doing water changes change the water with the same temp water or real close to it everytime. This will keep cichlids strong and healthy with no disfigurement. And also of course, always double the tank size, heaters and filtration that you think you will need for optimum fish health.
Beautiful Freddy's!!! Every time I watch King and queen cichlids, it makes me take a good long look at my basement which is empty... I want to buy some lager tanks, and try breeding some more elite cichlids as you have done! I'm like wow! The whole presentation. Thank you very much😀
Brother that means a lot to me and PLEASE follow your dreams- Start with one tank in that basement and I promise you in a few years it will be the fish room you dreamed of! If i can help in any way please let me know!!!
Great video man! I have kept large an small mouth bass and these guys remind me of those days...just saying a small mouth bass is a rival to your dovi all respect love it!!!!
No doubt brother- in fact one of the reasons i got into keeping fish is because of all the fishing trips my Dad and i took when i was young. Thanks for your support!
Ooh Scott, absolutely loved this video! My favourite fish group are the Parachromis, and I have a male Dovii (my absolute favourite!) of around 11", two small Jaguars about 4" and 2" respectively, and one Friedrichsthalii maybe 2.5"! I did have two Friedrichsthalii, but (stupidly) I put them both into the quarantine tank with the larger of the Jags (he was under 3" then) and overnight one disappeared, and the Jag was very fat, plus he'd roughed up the other little one. Friedrichsthalii are pretty rare to come across over here in Australia, as are most Parachromis, so I was sad and really annoyed with myself that I let this happen, and the shop is five hours drive away and I never got back to grab another one, or two. Your breeding pair of Friedrichsthalii are gorgeous, and the footage of them spawning and then the eggs progressing to fry over four days is amazing! Love your videos, and you have many beautiful fish! Oh, and you could do a video on the Motaguensis, another species I'm interested in keeping and on the lookout for! Cheers, Jimmy. :)
Jimmy I will absolutely do a video on the Red Tiger Motto! I love those guys too and my male is stunning! Thank you so much for your kind words and support. It means the world to Liz and I!
@@ScottMclaughlinJ That would be very cool! You don't need to give them to me though. I'll absolutely pay for them and the shipping, no worries. You'll have time and money invested by the time they're ready to go. Can't expect you to give either of those away. Just let me know when you (and they) are ready. I can hit you guys up on facebook with a PM for pertinent details when the time comes.
Amazing beautiful fish. I don't have the space for the huge tanks you have. Lovvvvve your channel, an would love you to look at smaller fish that I could possibly keep. Keep safe everyone 💖💖
Love you right back my friend! Stay tuned i have some new projects with some smaller fish i just to keep in my youth. I am really looking forward to revisiting those fish that i loved so much back in my teens. Stay tuned!
My only question is this the original Parachromis friedrichstalii recently known as Parachromis loiselli or the fish that was formerly known as Parachromis friedrichstalii but is now known as Parachomis multifasciatus?
I love your parachromis videos. I have been wanted to get some yellow jackets for the longest time but I can’t find any. Would you happen to be selling any of these fry? I would be more than happy to purchase two or three of them. I understand how the shipping works too. I have no problem with shipping prices.
Hey scott just wanted to let you know they weren't combined the old freddy is now multifasciatus and the old loisell is now the friedrichsthalii. So they're still seperate species the loisellei just stole the freddys name lol. Awesome freddys by the way.
Jamon I appreciate that and you are 100% exactly right! And 6 months from now they will probably go back to how they had it LOL. You just never know. TY so much for watching and your support and info. Greatly appreciated
Beautiful video. Just a note on scientific names. Your intuition that the Loisellei and Friedrichsthalii are different species is correct. Just their names have changed. @@ScottMclaughlinJ really? That's awesome I've been looking for one that's like 5" my male is 6" also I'm wondering what you use for a divider and where you get it 😊
Awesome!! So beautiful I've become totally intrigued by any of the paracromis species mainly from your vids. Great video thank u
David not a finer compliment you could have given me!! I really appreciate that! If there is ANYTHING i can do to help you please let me know!!

Thanks...how long are the fry safe with mum and dad?
What are your thoughts about having trumpet snails in tanks with breeding cichlids. Do trumpet snails interfere with the eggs in any way?
