I'm a new basketball fan. I'm in Canada and basketball was never really big here until the Raptors came into the league around 1995. In 1995 I was 42 years old and I don't recall ever seeing a basketball game on television. Our biggest sport was NHL hockey, followed by football (CFL and NFL) then baseball. Basketball and soccer were not important here. All I know about basketball I learned from UA-cam watching the older generations play. This is how I became aware of Magic and Larry. I know a few of the big names of players playing today, but not many. To watch basketball in Canada today, you must pay monthly to a sports network a minimum of $20/month which I can't afford to do. If you start doing more basketball videos, I'd be interested in it.

Larry Bird was the only reason I ever watched basketball! Lol. I can't watch the way they play these days to me it's not basketball. Sadly, over 90% of the players these days... don't even know the fundamentals of the game! I also think that these players should not start off with such a high salary. It doesn't give them any incentive to work to get better as a player! Imo

Larry doesn't look it. He doesn't fly through the air and do 360 windmill dunks. He was strong but he wasn't a muscular beast. He wasn't slow but he wasn't fast either. He didn't jump from the free throw line to the basket with "hang time". Nope none of that, cause he didn't need it. What he did have was complete mastery of the fundamentals of basketball. He could not only put the ball in the basket, he could see it in the basket before the ball was even in motion. He could tell you why it went in. He had every fundamental tool in the tool box and he mastered them all - and again he could tell you why they worked. Court geometry.

I go back & forth with the goat as far as overall or generation. Only because the game is different with each generation. When I played defense was my best attribute and I played Varsity. Outside shots weren’t a go to in the 80’s. So you needed strong defenders, rebounders, shot blockers who could dig in & go to work. I stopped watching in the Kobe era. I tried watching it this year & I watched one maybe two games and that was it.
I’d say Bird over Leflop. Bird would wear him out mentally.

I love these videos! Especially because I came from the Jordan times. The problem with the "All Time" is that the game itself has changed over time. These videos are trying to show what might happen if a player from another era were to jump into the era from the other player.
PS, anyone who claims GOAThood for himself, has lost that GOAThood IMHO.
So, this wasn't the video I thought it was (still liked it) but I love those videos that show highlights and stats to make the case for certain players GOATedness. There is a Bird one of those. Really, it's just amazing to see the talent that has come through the NBA.

Bulls21 we are now officially family👊🏽 had Rose not went down Miami was toast. Lebum was getting super lucky and bailed out by bosh a lot....we were this close to beating them. That's when I really looked at lebrons game and came to the realization that he was more hype than skill(athletic physical prowess yes but skill no). And his "cry baby" face started irritating the f out of me🤦🏾‍♂️ man up and play def! So yeah for me he around that 6 or 7😆 so yeah with those similar thoughts Bulls21 I think we kin👊🏽❤️💯

10:30 your younger brother is a real lakers fan. None of us wanted him here. We don't care for bubble year. We've always been called out for big market money but when we had all that young talent and said we didn't want bron and wanted our core they said we're haters. Lol
We like real winning. Not gs dirty dynasty or injury rings. They always hate who's on top. I miss zo ingram and everyone but randle

Now I'm curious. Why are you a LeBron hater?

Bunny I would need a whole video to explain...but ultimately, I more hate the generation of Lebron fans trying to compare him to the greatest to ever pick up a basketball...got the nerve to ignore Kobe too smh. And second to that 1st reason, his cry baby face when he doesnt get a call...play defense 🤷🏽! So thats the light version of my answer...but i love basketball so i can deal with it, i guess lol

@joeesparks7 I understand. I was an avid hater his first 10 years in thinking he was so arrogant going by the chosen one and king james. Then I just had to come to terms with his talents and freakish genetics and respect his story, like Barkley says, is the greatest sports story of all time. Going from homeless/couch surfing to being the chosen one and never been in trouble or had controversy and is essentially the reason this era is getting these huge contracts. Bird and Magic saved the league. Jordan made it global. Lebron gave the power to the players at the same time as getting them all paid. So I can't knock him anymore and just show him the respect.

@@joeesparks7 When one says he is the GOAT, one is probably NOT the GOAT. There are about 15 others (on my list) in front of him.
