Pop had the good sense of running everything through Timmy who got doubled on every possession. Pop was yet to become the offensive mastermind we know him to be today.
Timmy went through the Marbury - Marion - Rookie Stoudemire Suns, the Nowitzki - Nash Mavericks, the Kobe - Shaq Lakers, and the high flying Nets headed by Jason Kidd to win that championship. He put up 24-17-5 in the playoffs with 5.3 blocks (Still a playoff record). Give him his respect!

Shaq would either just dunk it on Tim or shove him aside for the layup or jump hook. Kobe would either shoot it over timmy, say "f it" and dunk on Timmy. Blow by Timmy for the layup or the dunk. So the optics were never in tims favor when it came to those two.

Gil made a very compelling point. Given that Gil was the black hole of a team. That guy was straight up grab and just shoot lol. Him picking MJ surprised me. Jordan didn't have a reference to chase. He just wanted to be a champion known by his peers. In doing so He just kept setting the bar higher and higher into his own atmosphere. Plus when you are on a team with Jordan like the 96 Bulls, the whole team was considered rockstars. For a guy that “shoots a lot” that type of player usually dominates stats that doesn’t translate to team wins. MJ kept his high octane scoring while still able to have Scottie be considered the 2nd best player in the league at one point. You can bet your ass every bulls game were jammed packed and sold out. I seen lbj play live in CLE and I don't remember against who or the year. I just know he didn't make it memorable for me. LBJ plays to chase another man. MJ played for every fan who bought tickets to watch him play.

MJ really played only 12 full seasons he had the foot injury the knee injury at 38 & the first retirement. I agree with Gilbert. MJ is too competitive. Also MJ told John Thompson in an interview that he never played for stats or he would have try to break Kareem record. He said he just plays to win & collect ring's. It all the guys ahead of him to play 18 plus years to catch him in scoring. If MJ just played 20 year like the other guys an average 25 a game for 8 years along with his 32,000 points he's at almost at 50,000 points. At age 35 he was the NBA Finals MVP the all-star MVP all defensive player all NBA player & regular season MVP. So if he did all of that I don't believe he would fall off. With the game being so soft & the guys being able to come in so young the scoring title will be broken sooner than later. The guy who does that won't be better than the previous players but the rules make the game easier for them. Just like Jim Brown doesn't have the rushing yards as Emmitt Smith but Jim Brown was the best running back of all. The rules change made it possible for Brady to be able to play as long as he did. But really Payton & Elway & Montana were better and Montana is the GOAT in quarterbacks.

Gotta agree with Gil here. People don't seem to understand how insanely competitive MJ was/is. If you could magically bring MJ in his prime into the NBA around the time LBJ came into the league, the LBJ narrative would be completely different. 1) LBJ's Cavs don't make the Finals for all those battles with Steph's warriors with Jordan in the East with the Bulls. 2) this also means that the the years with the Heat wouldn't have resulted in Finals appearances/championship. 3) Jordan would have set the scoring record so far out of reach for LBJ because LBJ would have had to keep pace with a guy who could legit drop 40+ anytime he wanted for 20 years. 4) people don't seem to understand the wear and tear the physicality the old NBA had on some of the legends of the game. In the modern NBA you got guys who would struggle to get 10 or 20 points in the old NBA who put up 40, 50 even 60 points like its pick up baskeball....you put Jordan in this era where physical basketball is not just regular defense, and he had to do what he did in an era where you could legit get close lined going to the basket and the story is way different.
Just put it this way.....look at the Jordan fade away era, so after he retired and came back....the average defender would defend Jordan by digging their heels in so he couldn't back them down and just resting their elbow in his back. Remember how virtually unstoppable that shot was with the guy pushing his elbow into Jordan's back. In the modern NBA that kind of defense is a foul which means that people would have to guard that move without the leverage of the elbow preventing him from using his superior footwork to just turn on guys and get layups. Also since there are no major shot blockers in the league now whose gonna stop him from actually taking the fade away or pump faking defenders and going to the basket for dunks.
I love LBJ and what he's doing and has done for the game, but Michael was a different type of beast! You can't manifest that level of competitive passion, high level of skill and athleticism in one player and let him loose in an NBA where defenders can't touch the offensive player....MJ would be the cheat code in the modern NBA and while I love LBJ, if prime MJ played in the same era as LBJ, we'd be talking about LBJ the same way we talk about Charles Barkley, he will always be an all time great, but he would always be in the shadow of the greatest player to ever lace them up.

Listen to how his competitors talk about him! He was a stone cold killer where Kobe’s mentally come from… Jordan! Rip to the legend! 5 Reasons he Picked Jordan over Lebron...
1.) Availability - Played at least 80 Games 11 times in his career
2.) Doesn't need a Superstar to Compete - never had a Teammate average at least 20ppg consistently
3.)Better Scorer - Averaged 30 8x in regular season and and averaged 30+ in playoffs 12x along with being 10x Scoring Champ
4.) Better Defender - 3x Steals Champ, Defensive player of the year
5.) Can will his team to Victory
Reasons why he didn't choose Lebron
1.) Availability - He's good for at least 60-70games those last 12 games matter
2.) Needs worlds of Help - Dwade, Chris Bosh, Kyrie, Kevin Love, Anthony Davis, Rondo, Dwight Howard, and Carmelo... All Hall of Famers
3.) Not everybody can play with Lebron... - we saw what a team that only has Lebron looks like and it was not pretty... 1st year with Lakers he had Caruso, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, Jordan Clarkson and Lonzo Ball and was fighting for his life... Meanwhile Jimmy has a team full of Undrafted free agents and is in the Championship wow....
4.) He picks and choose when to be aggressive instead of in full fledged attack mode from the Jump thats why he put his teams in situations they shouldn't be in like the Nuggets for example nobody on that team could guard him... it took him game 4 to be Aggressive when he should of been Aggressive since game 1...
5.) He's a Coach killer... If Lebron has a bad season its not Lebron fault its whoever the 2nd, 3rd, or Coach is... When he wins he takes the flowers being thrown at him perfect example when they was losing with him towards the end and he got hurt and AD started winning games Lebron came back quick fast and in a hurry because he wants to feel like they winning because of him and Not AD... But when they lose he puts pressure on everybody instead of Taking blame for an L... thats what Kobe and MJ do... hell thats what Jimmy do... Matter fact Everything Jimmy is doing right now is why he picking Jordan over Lebron if he was building a team... You can say Lebron being Elite for 20 years and going to the finals 100 times and winning 4 is GOAT level... But with MJ we gone get these 6 Chips quick fast and in a hurry

Not trying to change anyone's mind but a gentleman discussion.
To me basketball isn't a sport you win alone, like how "superteams" formed usually struggles during their first one or two years. Chemistry is a real thing.
Then you need to have a decent coach, role players and everything.
To me MJ's career is straight out of a storybook. Everything just fall into a really ideal situation.
As to your question, he only got Wade and Bosh a couple of season.
It was post injury Wade not the same old Flash we actually know, he himself said it on multiple pod and all. He just wasn't feeling like that anymore like he acknowledged that hey he's a 2nd option kinda guy post injury and he just don't feel like he's on the level of Bron and Kobe during that period anymore. Bosh has his health issues too and I'm a fan of Bosh but I don't think Bosh is the type of player that you see and be like oh he is THE ONE.
K-Love and Ky, injuries and a lot of unfortunate timings. Plus you gotta know they didn't get to play a lot A LOT together you know what I mean? Love falls into the category of Bosh for me, yeah dude can put up crazy number on a bad team and that's that (not discrediting how good of a baller they are).
Davis wise, c'mon everyone would hold their breathe every time he fell. The season he was healthy and with the right pieces they won.
To me the coach actually plays a huge part, you're just screwed if your coach decides to play 3 guards non-stop etc.
That's how I feel personally and I honestly don't think LeBron has the most stacked rosters for 9 times. They're automatically labelled a contender because he was there.
I feel that if LeBron got a Wade-esqe player (Scottie Pippen) after 3 years in the league and actually develop together and play alongside. His "finals" record will be a lot nicer + if he have Spoel for as many year as MJ has Phil and we all know Phil > Spoel.
Also I honestly feel that the role players of those Bulls dynasties aren't getting credit enough. Horace Grant, Toni Kukoc, Ron Harper, BJ Armstrong and Steve Kerr (Yes, Steve Kerr) etc. are extremely valuable to the team.
Like once MJ was being torched by Rex Chapman and Phil had to ask MJ to NOT GUARD Rex and get Kerr to guard Rex instead. Kerr was not as "useless" as people might think.
      Have a good day sir!

We can’t be blind to Jordan’s individual efforts alone. The man averaged like 38 and damn near a triple double while shooting over 80% from the line and had the most free throws made that year.
      That’s with no help.
So Give him a wing, that can give you 10 - 15 points, play D, and rebound. (Pippen).
Then give him a Big that can give you 10-15 points, and grab about 8-10 rebounds. (Horace Grant).
And give him 1 shooter! (Paxxson).
That’s all MJ needed to win 3 straight championships. Just think of that.

@@StCropper you’re proven my point one man can’t do it alone he was getting called god in tennis shoes and getting knock out first round . Don’t minimize Dennis Rodman defense and rebounding Tony Kukoc drawing bigs from the rim and Ron Harper coming off the bench. No player can win unless the right team is around him no matter the star.

@@gabetv6355 lol I don’t think you see how you proving my point. Maybe this will work better…
Overrall where do you rank Kucok and Rodman?
And Reminder they was for the second 3 peat.
Rodman average less than 8 points. Bout 13 rebounds. Under 60% Ft. Superb defense.
Kucoc average less than 15 points, less than 5 rebounds, under 70% FT. Average defense.
      Add Pippen. 15 - 20 points. 7 rebounds. 70% FT. Superb defense.
That’s a 3 peat Championship team WITH Jordan at the Helm.
You mean to tell me you can’t put better pieces around prime MJ to be more successful than that??
      Like let’s be honest 😂😂😂
The pieces he had weren’t all that great man 😂.
Without MJ Scottie barely averaged 20 and 70% and lower FT.
Without Scottie MJ was averaging over 30 and shooting over 80% FT from the line. Averaging 2-3 steals. 5-8 assist.
That’s your starting piece…. If you CANT BUILD AROUND THAT, then you shouldn’t be an OWNER.
And that’s the MAIN reason why Jordan got 6 titles in a decade and is part of a DYNASTY. It’s easy to build around.
Look at Shaq. Gave him a player like Kobe and instant 3 peat. Easy to build around.
Even Kobe in 09 and 2010.
Gave him the right pieces to BUILD around him.
When you break everything down, it’s easy to see.
      Lebron is not that 😂
We’ve seen the effort, and it’s not there.
      Give me MJ or Kobe.

I'm going LeBron just because he proved he can kind if make it work with a lot of players on a different team, idk if that's a good thing...
Jordan main 2nd guy the whole time was Scottie with good glue guys around then each time.
Imagine if LeBron had a healthy Wade, a little younger Wade.

@MikeBNumba6 wade average 30 the year before LeBron joined him average more then LeBron in the finals they lost told LeBron he has to become the leader he would take a back seat so he started playing 2nd fiddle an now because wade deferred to bro his numbers went down an now wade was a bum an LeBron had to leave because wade was washed but in reality LeBron needs way to much help to win wade was still averaging 20 points years after LeBron left if he can't win with his 2nd option averaging around 20 to 23 he's clearly not on Mike's level in my opinion

If you are an owner and you would have to choose which player will give you championships, Jordan got 2 threepeats for the Bulls, Lebron has 4 for different teams in many more seasons. An smart owner would choose more wins in less time any time of the week.
