- Create custom letters and fill them with a photo. Then a couple more fun things you can do to make the design “pop.” There are many ways to do this, but this one works best for me - maybe you’ll like it too!

I’ve gone back to this video so many times for reference. Thank you! 🙌🏼
Amazing!!! I’ve been struggling trying to figure out how to do this for a week. I couldn’t even think of the right words or phrase to search for.
Thank you!!!
Glad it helped 😊
Because I have a brain like a Teflon coated sieve I come back to your tutorial quite often and thank my lucky stars I found you. Your calm voice & clear steps make this the best . Thank you so very much.
Thank you for teaching me how to make my text much more interesting. I feel I’ll be referring to this lesson many times. You explained it so carefully & well.
This is the 5th video I’ve watched trying to figure out how to do this and the FIRST time it worked! Thank you!!
Great work, nice and slow. Easy to understand. Thanks.
Very useful. Exactly what I need
Wow! Thank you! Your video was the first one which explained this to me appropriately! 👍
Absolutely Love this tutorial!
I haven’t been able to get back to creating channel content for a while, but I just created a new video that shows how I use a Clipping Mask for lettering in Procreate. Check it out!
Thank you for the tutorial and tips 🙏❤️
Thank you for going slow enough for me to see what your were actually clicking on! So many people have their screens so far away and go so fast it is frustrating. Great video!
Worked like a charm! Thank you!
Yes! This is exactly what I was looking for. Everyone else was making it too complicated. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
You my good sir are a lifesaver Thankyou for this !!! God bless

THANK YOU!!!!!
Hello Doug! Thank you for this video. Very informative and easy to follow. About the folded pen brush, are they on sale or would you be willing to share how to make one. I love the effect the pen created. Thank you!
Thanks a lot !!!!
Wow thanks so much
Thanks for the tutorial. I enjoyed a lot, but can we insert in some layers instead of only one.
Thank you.
Thank you
Very cool. What happens if I don't alpha lock the layers?
Omg it worked
THANK YOOOOUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!
What does locking do?
Can you demo how to embed a photo so it appears to be deep into an object? I watched this repeatedly, very clever.
Niceeee
I can't get the invert to work? It inverts from white to black (as far as the background of that layer, but the letters will not come through. The picture stays no matter what I do and I am on the right layer. Any suggestions.
It inverted for me only when I had it unlocked but it won’t save it if I click anything is disappears
And when I try to do it locked it states to unlock or open layers
Great video!!! Thank you...Your summary was cut off at the end...but the video is great anyway!!
could u give some details on how u made that folded pen
The easiest way to get started experimenting with pen designs is to start with a brush you already like - I usually start with a broad nib italic. Duplicate the brush so you don’t lose the original.
Then I do two main things to make it behave more like a folded pen:
I go to “shape” in the Brush Studio and click on “Azimuth” so the writing angle follows the stylus angle
I adjust the orientation wheel so that the narrow part of the stroke is in line with the barrel of the stylus and the broad part of the stroke runs perpendicular.
I also adjust the pressure size setting in the “Apple Pencil” menu so that I can get a little variation on the broad part of the stroke.
As long as you are working with a duplicate, you can experiment freely without risk of losing anything - if you like, rename it - if you don’t, throw it away and start again. 😊
Thansk so much.. just learn ProCreate .
I’m glad it helped 😊
*thanks hehe typo .. just letting u know i did it and proud of it.. so happy .. ✌️🤭❤️ Can't thank you enough
Now you need to look at my video on using the “clipping mask” - I actually use this method more often for lettering.
😄 Happy Creating!
