I can't get the invert to work? It inverts from white to black (as far as the background of that layer, but the letters will not come through. The picture stays no matter what I do and I am on the right layer. Any suggestions.

Thank you. I found several tutorials to achieve this. None worked, because my procreate always quit the selection when i change layers. With your workflow it is super easy and fast.

That's cool 👌🏼Off subject a bit here but say I was drawing a face of a dog (cartoon style) how do you know when to make new layers?
