Hey everyone thank you so much for the support on this video, make sure to subscribe to my new ALL acne channel here: ua-cam.com/channels/cDbXrS6z1Eu633Ot3nsGgA.html! 🙏
I wanted to pin a post with some answers to the most asked questions! 😁
My four biggest tips for people who want to make change in their acne are to
    1) REMOVE DAIRY 100% (not even a little tiny slip up)
    2) Eat 8-16 servings of dark green cruciferous veggies
    3) Drink more water (1-2 gallons a day)
    4) Balance your gut flora by ingesting some form of probiotics.
    What protein can I use?
A lot of people watching my channel are into fitness and consume whey protein, protein bars and products with dairy in them. Whey/casein proteins are concentrated dairy, you need to switch to a plant based protein. The best plant based protein is the raw plant protein from VivoLife (Yes, I'm sponsored because I support them fully - use BRIAN10 for 10% off VivoLife: bit.ly/VivoLifeBrian). They do not include preservatives, coloring or fake sugars which are are terrible for you. They also have greens that provide most of your daily vitamins, veggies and even probiotics. I promote them because their products do not break me out and are high quality.
VIDEOS I SUGGEST TO WATCH (MY BEST ACNE CONTENT):
EXACTLY What To Do With Acne Scarring! (From Experience): ua-cam.com/video/KFWxC7CPJTE/v-deo.html
REMOVE REDNESS FROM ACNE & SCARRING: ua-cam.com/video/fnh7W324JEg/v-deo.html
How to stay positive and keep high self esteem (How To Get Past Acne Insecurity): ua-cam.com/video/LEGa1ahc72U/v-deo.html
Three Easy, Medium & Hard things to help eliminate acne: ua-cam.com/video/yfFWSfZMjU8/v-deo.html
I have countless more videos related to acne so if you have anything specific I suggest using the search function on my channel to see if I've talked on it before and if I haven't PLEASE request it in a comment below! I love you all and you are not alone, if you are feeling down from your acne I strongly suggest to continue watching my acne videos about self esteem to help you find the path to strengthening your confidence! ❤❤❤

My son just turned 15 and his skin is bad too! All his little cousins say “what happened to your face?” I put him on this medicine. If your family cannot afford the medicine make sure you DRINK about 3 litters of water a day. Eat very little junk food. Wash your face two times a day. Use antibiotic ointment on your big pimples ESPECIALLY if you pop them-like neosporin-your school nurse will have it. Wash your towels! Don’t use dirty towels on your face. I hope this helps!

i was on accutane for over a year.. my biggest struggle was dealing with dry lips!! What helped me was I would put Lucas Pawpaw ointment all over my lips at bed time and in the morning I would wet my lips with water and all the dead skin would just wipe off very easily! it would give me a fresh set of lips every morning that werent cracked! I then was using a good lip balm, Blistex (the light blue one), that i wasnt tempted to lick off every day and applied it every hour or so. As I would come closer to bed time I could feel my lips getting dry again but it didnt matter because I would just use the Pawpaw ointment and go to bed and start fresh the next day with lips that werent dry. Try giving that a go if you are struggling!!!

I took accutane for six months at 120 mg a day (which is the max dosage they will give you), and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I mainly suffered from dryness all over my body, dry eyes, and mild joint pain. The side effects were very manageable because I used lotion every chance I got including eye drops. Also, if you live in a dry environment, it will make your dryness much worse. I went on vacation to Costa Rica during the summer, and I barely had to use lotion or chap stick because it was so humid compared to where I live.
Also, the side effects mostly went away about two weeks after stopping Accutane. I heard stories of people who's side effects never went away, but I felt completely normal after just a few weeks. Maybe I am a little dryer than normal, but that is a good thing because my face and hair are never greasy.
Maybe I just got lucky, but my experience with Accutane was very positive.

I took it for about a year, it cleared up and I haven't had hardly any acne since. It's been about 7 years now and I only have occasional breakouts from stress mainly. I would recommend this to anyone with severe acne that has had no results from other treatments. Aquaphor ointment is the best for the dry skin part of it. And yes, always, ALWAYS have chap stick!

Thank YOU for putting this out there! My favorite part is when you say “my suggestion to you is to try nearly everything else first and only use Accutane as a last resort”. I had horribly acne(face, chest, and back) and was on Accutane for ten months. I was 17 when I took it and told my doctor in month ten I wouldn’t take it anymore because I thought I was losing my mind. I remember feeling like I didn’t have control over my own thoughts or emotions anymore and as a 17 year old, that was scary as hell. When people now ask me how I have such beautiful skin, I tell them about Accutane but I make sure to tell them LAST RESORT only. Again man, thanks for sharing this because people NEED to be aware that it is an incredible drug but can definitely come with a cost.

  • @Windsbee
    @Windsbee 7 років тому +165

I took 80 mg of accutane everyday for about 24 weeks. And it saved me. I started getting acne when I was 9 years old (early, yes) while the rest of my classmates got them by age 13. So for 4 years I walked around like some alien to them, and spent most of my years in school looking down, and covering my face talking to people. The accutane process was though, especially because I was in the army at the time, and accutane made my limbs and joints really stale and unflexible, so it was not easy. And the dry skin, pain in the lips, and the rest of the face was brutal. I didn't break out though, which I'm thankful for, so I didn't get a single acne during the process. The dryness is still left, not as badly, but it's still there. I quit accutane 4 years ago, and I still haven't got a single acne on my face. By body however is a different story. My back is covered, and some on my chest. But despite all that, my life is owed to Accutane. It literally saved my life.

Wow, I'm so sorry you had to go through this. I had severe acne for 14 years (age 14 - 28), and imy acne did not improve AT ALL on a mostly vegan diet (plus butter). (Yes, vegan plus butter is weird; it was motivated by a dumb book called Fit for Life.).So if dairy caused my acne, all it took was a little bit of butter in an otherwise whole food plant based healthy diet. I finally took Accutane at age 28, which cured my acne permanently (I'm now 53). I hope it didn't cause any permanent damage for either of us. My most bothersome side effect was the dry lips. I found something better than Chapstick at the health food store (forget what it was called), but I also ran a humidifer in my apartment, which helped enormously.

I remember I was the only girl with bad acne at school (about 8 years ago) and I was sooo self conscious and everyone kept saying “it’s not that bad”, “I can barely see it” but then I would look ay my face and it was obvious it was pretty bad. I cried until my mom accepted to take me to the dermatologist, took it for 2 years, had a relapse, and then another year. It finally worked and I’ve had clean skin for years. But man, do I get you when you said: “if you’re feeling bad about that cyst in your chin, well, think about me” , that was me, all the time.

I hated having acne growing up. My first pimple was in 3rd grade and then by the time I was in middle school, my face was covered and looked very similar to yours. It wasn’t until my first year of high school I started taking acutane, and by the end my acne cleared up, however I had terrible scarring. Funny thing was though that the treatment didn’t end up working, so I had to go on another cycle of acutane at a really strong dosage. Thank God the second time worked. To help with my scarring I started putting natural grounded oatmeal mixed with milk/water and let it sit on my face for 10-15 minutes, followed by moisturizing, since it did dry out your skin. And nowadays all I do to take care of my skin is using simple dove soap and moisturizer and some sun screen. Most people compliment me now on my skin and don’t believe me when I say I had terrible acne with scarring lol

My acne was Honest To God WAY WAY WAY WORSE… like they put my face in textbooks on the worst scene. My parents were very very against accutane. We tried everything but accutane. I was in multiple medical studies, tried damn near every drug imaginable except accutane. When I turned 18 I Finnaly went and took it myself to get a prescription. I’m 22 now and damn better now cleared of acne. I still have tiny patches and what not, but it’s way better. Accutane saved my life. I was so mentally low and insecure because of my acne. Im now a changed human! Yes everything you mentioned in super true. The dryness length of treatment and bleeding lips. The only reason why it was labeled as such a bad drug was because a politician’s daughter committed suicide while on accutane. . I truely believe that people need to give accutane a better chance if they have sever cystic acne

Lip balm is superior to vaseline. Not only does vaseline smell and taste bad, it keeps moisture out while keeping in what little is in there, which may even be counter-productive for the accutane treatment. When I was on accutane, Lip balm allowed me to talk normally without pain as long as I used lip balm every half hour or so. Just couldn't smile widely or laugh ecstatically.
