this drill was designed with cooperation between parkside and another youtube channel (bauforum24 if im not wrong) for me if it was 20v tool , have options to work as a tapping arm ( for up to for example m12 tap) where u can set on the screen options for tap size and how it would work etc (for example tap 3 turns then back 1 etc and max torque limiter calculated by amps on motor etc before it stop or when u release the trigger it backs completely) could be awesome option for welders with dedicated tapping arm attachment etc or like metabo programs for pulsating torque (speed) for easy work with PZ and PH screws (or to make it simple --- option to create programs for it then could be rly good option for specific aplication but 12v tool .... torque is crazy but in reality screen and leds are just meh ,ok but not needed good tool if u need 12v drill for almost every job
Do you think this is the reason it was discontinued? After a few days, the drill completely disappeared from our Lidl online store. Not just out of stock-the page is completely gone.
I highly doubt...I guess its a logistics issue as always. If you remember there was a 40V rotaty hammer announced, that we never saw. However I have a keychain with it. Again I think some logistics issue or factory trouble or both. Parkside never tests its products - they test them on paper. The end user is the beta tester and even when the user sends a bad feedback they never call back the defective products. They simply start producing new generation.
@@icku Thanks. I saw a UA-cam video claiming this was the reason. I found it hard to believe that Parkside didn't test the drill with all types of batteries. I just wanted to hear your opinion. If it's only the ID, it could probably be fixed with a software update?
@Ohm7111 They really don't test them - that's the sad part. I've been getting tools from their laboratory with a stamp TUV approved. Believe me or not, when connected to the Lidl app those tools have been showing only 2 or 3 minutes of runtime. How do you test a tool for 3 minutes...
@@icku I mostly agree with your opinion. But for this product there's proof of testing being done. The development took years and several iterations of prototypes which were also tested by Bauforum24. In the factory tour video they also show how every drill is being tested in the factory. I'm not saying they do the same when there's no cameras around, but at least the procedures are there. Hopefully it's just a firmware issue. It's even possible it worked with the batteries at some point during testing and they broke it with a firmware update after initial compatibility testing was done. Apparently Parkside had some functions not working properly even a few weeks before release and did several updates leading up to the launch.
If this abomination has been developed for several years, the Bauforum comedian needs to be arrested for treason against technology 🤣🤣 People develop rockets for less time.
on ID pin in the "old" 12V battery is only resistor to the ground - different on 2Ah and 4Ah. It was previously used only for chargers (old 4.5A, current 2x4.5, or new 6A) - to enable a bigger charging current. On Parkside performance battery ID pin is connected to IC to send the digital signal for chargers or tools :)
@@icku My pleasure, friend!! I want to let you know that many videos made by you are an inspiration for me, to bring something different to Italy! A hug, Dario. (soon I will make a second video on x12 vteam 80nm so as to link to yours! I hope you enjoy it!)
Great, thanks for your information. Here in Germany this tool hasn't been delivered, now we know why👍🏼 That's pretty embarrassing for Parkside. But to be honest, who needs such a large 12V tool. 12V means for me small size, and not such a huge device.
@ZixX96 a German UA-camr did make this drill in coop with Lidl/parkside. And they had been talking about firmware updates. I'm not sure if it will happen. But it's possible since it has Bluetooth.
@@tidleso5637 well yes I know. I saw that video.. but why does something simple like a Drill Need a Software Update.. that’s the Most unnecessary feature ever.
@@ZixX96 Well that is something which is coming up more and more as we progress into advanced technology. And I understand it. There are more then enough baboons which tried to feed low amp single row batteries into machines which need two rows. And thereby killing the smaller batteries. With approaches like with this drill you can make a machine adapt to certain batteries and pull less amps, get as high amps possible out of a battery while not killing it or shortening it's life span, producing unnecessary waste.
@ yeah that is a reason I didn’t think about. I got Bosch Professional tools. 2 older standard 2Ah and 2 ProCore Batteries. One of my tools is a BiTurbo one, which is optimized for ProCore Batteries. This thing just doesn’t run with the standard batteries, well it tries to, but switches on and off automatically.

12V is more then enough for most people. Most newer 12V drills can keep up with non high-end 18V drills. Su if you don't have a clue and stop spreading misinformation. Ty
@@tidleso5637 I have the 12V performance 35nm... enough round the house. My old corded/brushed Bosch has 7nm and is big anf heavy, time for retirement...
@IlllIlIlIIlll main selling point of 12V is it being lighter and easier to handle yes. And this drill is lighter then most 18V units cause it does work with 3 cell accumulators and isn't very big. If you need more oompf you have the option to use double row 6 cell. Btw the 80nm exceed 99% of cordless drills on the market. Sure 150 rpm ain't fast if you go first gear but you will reach your goal. If you're on a budget I think it's a great all in one.

All those who are mainly happy with 12V but need a bit bigger drill. No need for an additional battery type.
merry Christmas to you too! All the best for you and your family!

There is also the 5ah old x12v battery, try that if you have one? (old x12v batteries are 2ah, 2.5ah, 4ah, 5ah)
Don't have those in hand 🥺
How crazy could it be? Parside...SES! Thanks to show it to us and I hpe I could get once of there driller to test it by my self.
