Chocolatier Chat: Ben Bailey

As a serial entrepreneur, Ben has done a bit of everything. He’s worked on Broadway, started and sold two eCommerce companies, and even played the washboard in a jazz band featured on Ted Talks.
His unconventional path to chocolate started when he lived near Hershey, PA, and became fascinated with the entrepreneurial utopian ideals of Milton Hershey.
After moving back home to the Pacific Northwest in 2020, Ben witnessed firsthand the effects of climate change, including wildfires and extreme heatwaves. Learning about the excessive greenhouse gases caused by dairy farming, he decided to become a vegan.
Craving milk chocolate one day, he decided to make the best milk chocolate in the world without the cows. Thus, Chomp Chocolate was born. Ben hopes to bring in a new era where craft chocolate and sustainable practices can scale to take on the mass-market chocolate industry.
