I appreciate the effort and content you put up on this channel, it is very informative and helpful! I’ve had fibromyalgia for 30 years and several years ago after another illness I became extremely deconditioned. With the support of a physiotherapist and exercise therapist, I had to start with extremely simple progressions of these exercises, for example simply engaging the muscle without moving (!). It might be useful to some viewers to have the simplest progressions working up to this level of intensity so they don’t just get discouraged and extremely painful doing the harder exercises.
Dear J Dardlu. I agree with you, the support of a physiotherapist and exercise therapist is very helpful. Thank you for sharing your experience. Please don't forget to subscribe to this channel and tell other people who have chronic pain.

Excellent demo on resistance training exercises for fibromyalgia patient dr andrea ....really very very useful to such a " invisible disabling" patients can manage their symptoms by preventing to take unnecessary pain medication , psychiatric drugs or wrong diagnosis wrong medicines with harm sideffects. Ofcourse as per evidence s exercises plays a major role like exercises induced hypoalgesia to reduce control flareup of symptoms and cope up with stress. I had comeaccross 20 patients of fibromyalgia really struggling with flareup of symptoms and finally end up their lives even very emotional so i have send a csi questionaire and find mild moderate severe by scoring and advice above exs psychological councelling yoga meditation and any pmr dr advice ...people are recovering with biopsychosocial model ....
I wish I could find more content about fitness for people with fbromyalgia. I'm one of the rare guys with fibromyalgia. Though going on a plant-based diet helped a great deal several years ago in terms of recovery from fibromyalgia, I guess I'm not past it altogether . I recently took up weight lifting at our apartment's gymn (most of my "education" came from watching UA-cam videos about bodybuilding), and I'm finding its leading to disrupted sleep, excessive soreness, sympathetic nervous system dominance, hormonal problems and periods of low energy (though it did result in a drop in body fat percentage after one month- I gained about a pound in muscle mass and lost a little bit of fat). So I am looking for a different approach to getting fit.
Even though I don’t have fibromyalgia, I still think I can apply some of these exercises to help with my back paint. Great video as always. Enjoy watching you.
It is really important that you see a physiotherapist. The physiotherapist will examine your specific situation and tell you what you can and cannot do. These videos are for educational purposes only. Now that you are more knowledgeable about your condition and the types of exercises you could be doing, it will be much easier for you to discuss with your physiotherapist. You will understand what they are saying, and why they are recommending one exercise and not the other one. I think that patients who are more knowledgeable about their options are much better to adhere to the treatment recommendations. That is the ultimate goal of these videos, that you can discuss with your health care professional and be a partner in the decisions.
@@DrAndreaFurlan I do--it took me a long time to find her. She is a manual physical therapist. I just saw her office one day when I went to see my podiatrist. Been looking for one for a long time. My insurance will not cover massage, but as part of PT it does.

Hey dr andrea, i am an aspiring personal trainer and am about to work with a trainee who has fibromyalgia, i see that the leg exercises offered here are mostly static and isometric holds, would training legs through a concentric/eccentric range of motion be a problem?(for example, partial squat instead of static squat hold)
I was suffering from trigger finger in my ring finger and thump and I took injections. To avoid further occurrence in the same or other fingers Pl advise me what should I do. Thanks
Resistance band is good to gain muscle power, muscle strength. But a person can do strengthening exercises just with their body weight, without any external equipment.
I'm trying to lose some weight with any exercise that for fibromyalgia arthritis and low back pain I have ponch nerve and bulge discs in my back if any one can help I appreciate it trying to lose the baby weight

several of these are contraindicated for a lot of fibro sufferers especially your "flying arms" , lateral lifts, front raises, crunches,I , bird dog..omg and your PLANK is a nightmare! i could go on. I am amazed that all i see are praise and no one commenting on tha actual ability of fibro patients to do any of this. a majority of it a physical therapist that specializes in firo would NEVER allowa patient to do can see this "workout causing a lot of issues with neck and shoulders and with triggering Post exertional malaise. I was so excited to be sent this video ut its more of the "just eat clean and work out you lazy bum type of mentality. shame on you for perpetrating the myth
Hi Rebecca, I’m sorry to hear you can’t do these. Please ask a physiotherapist to adapt a routine for you. Most of my patients with fibromyalgia are able to follow these routines, but I know it is challenging for many people. It is still very important to keep trying. 😘
Excellent resource for fibromyalgia patients!!!! Excellent job demonstrating these exercises!!!!
Thank you Diana!

Hi doctor why resistance band is important in fibromyalgia exercise
Resistance band is good to gain muscle power, muscle strength. But a person can do strengthening exercises just with their body weight, without any external equipment.
Mam is moringa leaf effective for chronic pain ?

Mostly I swim in a warm water pool, however.
That is great.
I cannot do any exercises. I can only walk.
