I'm a American black, I see why we weren't privilege to hear this Man!!!his MUSIC WOULD HAVE CAUSED PROBLEMS FOR AMERICAN RACIST, GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER
What are you talking about he came to America back in the late 1969 talked to James Brown and a lot of other black musicians and got books, the message to the black man by the N.O.I on the black panther party among other black authors books check his history we always gave Fela Kuti respect and some of our horn players even where on one of his albums if I'm not mistaken It could be argued that this was part of his inspiration to return to Nigeria and keep his music rooted in African rhythms and his lyrics focused on African social issues. Fela travelled to America in 1969 at the tail-end of the Civil Rights Movement.
another awesome masterpiece from fela's gory days! i love how the groove starts and then builds for a full 7 minutes before his vocal even starts. then, fela's incomparable voice and call and response backup vocals carry the song to full burn! no other african musician comes close to the power of fela's music and his influence remains strong now. really love this tune!
these creams are used all over Asia and the Middle East as well, and yet Europeans and Americans can't get enough fake tan - seems nobody is happy with their natural tone these days
The wierd one, the great son of the witches of Africa, one who has death in his pouch, Mr Augustine, the chief priest, the great sage, the great philosopher, the seer, the great son of Africa, the truth sayer, the great prophet, the fearless fighter, the great son of the soil, Baba Eleniyan. (OLUFELA OLUSEGUN ANIKULAPO KUTI ABAMI EDA) Great Respect. Three GBOSA for you. GBOSA! GBOSA!! GBOSA!!!
Just like that Mr. President Rest In Power. Thanks that we had the opportunity to admire you. In Douala 1972 and Bonn Germany August 1988. I came back from Africa last week with malaria and by dancing on the rythm of the present tune I'm healed. The artist never dy.
Afrobeat is souflet my friend. Its not cup of noodles. I even think the family missed a trick stopping these morons calling their music afrobeats and spoliling the brand
Funny how the other channel has almost 5 mil views and Felas only got a couple hundred. Proof that someone is always profiting off your hard work. Love to all my Nigerian brothers and queens. We love you guys.
I like the part Fela said, "foolish, you go die, foolish". That is true, we all know the consequence of skin bleaching as it causes skin cancer, kidney problems, etc., yet some people still take to this unhealthy practice.
Amazing I love that this is an anti-bleaching song! Especially for the time. I hate black women from all over bleaching themselves because the idea that light or yellow is prettier. Dead wrong! The blacker the berry the sweeter the juice.
What a song makes want to run crom Greece to Africa and join a militia against the westerners hahaha amazing just kidding hopefully Fela Kuti still inspires.
'Black' & Tan skin is beautiful/ Never forget - white rich people try to get it!!! /Orange clown hate black people but tries to darken his skin, like ours / Black is beautiful, glowing & natural / Never forget it/ yer beautiful & they can't handle it / let the haters live in their petty dreamworld / I'll live in mine /Nothin' better than chocolate in love
Elder Fela set the bar so high and there is no need to try to surpass it....
Baba Anikulapo Kuti Abami Eda is the king....
Case closed....
No one dares to surpass it, the standard was highly defined.
The INSTRUMENTAL... Before the verses start... is a masterpiece!
and in the verses too, totally masterpiece
Sim uma orquestra africana original!
Correct! An absolute master class on all fronts 😮

Colorism was, is, and will always be a big issue!
40+ years later, what he is saying is still going on. I had no idea it was happening even back in the 70s.
Fela was a legend period! He stands in a class of his own. A genius original, and very African.

Some African Women/Men don't understand the essence of their skin colour. Be proud of your culture and show it off to the world!!!
Compared to others , A black woman is still attractive at the age of 50 due the melanine. Proudly black
I love it when racism is upvoted because it's considered positive
A girl once told me to stop this masterpiece before it was over while being in a driving car in Croatia. Needless to say there is no more contact...
