One of my favorite songs from OG beatmania series! Also... I actually liked beatmania US. Even tho the design is just basically a purple recolor of 9th style. It got some nice new songs as well. Funkytown is one of my favorite songs on beatmania US.

It's neat how much they improved the game from the original beatmania to IIDX. The charts in the original game were so bad other than those battle ones where you'd go back and forth with the computer.
they did get better as time went on - check out 6th, 7th, core remix and the final, some absolute classic bangers there (still some other pretty janky ones lol)
In original IIDX, It is treated as 'Perfect' when the player received great or higher judgement on every notes. So I followed that rule. But it would be confused because the highest judgement in US beatmania was renamed as 'PERFECT', while it's 'PGREAT'(displayed as colorful GREAT) in IIDX. When the player received the theoretical highest score as you said, people call that 'MAX'.
