Please my friend can we go on Discord as I need your help with the hind please.
I find it very hard with the trim.
I fly all helicopter modles and know how to trim them all but for some reason when I trip the hind it jumps up.
      What am I doing wrong???
Also the rudder is my next issue. I know how to use my rudder with the huey and mi 8 but for the hind when I'm landing and come close to land it moves alot and when I adjust the rudder paddles , it go's left than right so now I'm not aligned but struggling to keep straight with the rudder.
My axis tune is set to 25 for all axis .
Please help me brother, I can come on Discord please?

"... and just smothly slow down by pulling aft on the cyclic and maintaining your descent rate with the collective... " Oh... well... that sounds easy enough :) My main nemisis is losing tail rotor effectiveness while trying to slow down. I find the Hind really doesn't like slowing down much and is much happier pretending its an airplane. Nicely done and now I feel compelled to practice some more.

I love the small details. The Mariana map is beautifully suited for flying helos. And the flight director on the ground at the end was a nice touch.

These procedures with a long straight in approach feel very "academic" to me, and crucially the visibility forwards and down of the pilot cockpit means that the aimpoint tends to be obscured, which drives one to look at instruments instead of outside, which is usually a sim-ism. I dont fly helicopters IRL but in fixed wing stuff I've never looked at the vario during a landing.
In the DCS Hind I prefer a constant turn, warbird style approach. Once abeam my aimpoint, I start a left hand turn that I keep going to keep the runway in sight basically until I reach the threshold. Makes it a bit easier to visualise the glidepath, and the nose only obscures the runway at the last second.

Mi-35/Mi-35P is the export variant, Mi-35M is the modernized variant in use with the Russian Air Force. Other than that, amazing video and extremely helpful, seeing how you're supposed to land the Hind and the numbers helps me visualize how to land it, especially coming from the more nimble and has-power-to-spare Helos. Thanks a lot

@@CommanderSteinsch Yeah, the Mi-35s are all over the place lol. RuAF 35Ms are equipped with additional defense suit and sensors, and other 35Ms are also exported to different countries, and unlike other Russian equipment, Mi-35M3 is not an updgraded 35M but rather an export Mi-24VM.

I tend to come in at an angle as I approach the runway. It helps me see what’s directly in front and below me since the hinds cockpit visibility is pretty terrible. That may help some of you who struggle with lining up your approaches.

It is always used rolling landing if you don't have to use landing from hover. Because it is the easiest way to land. So even it is possible to perform hover landing, you will not use it if you don't have to.

That may be so in general, but not according to the hind manual. Vertical landing is stated to be the normal procedure.

I've tried your method over and over and 2 things happen to me. When I hit my trim button the nose dives down. When it should be holding. And when I am pulling collective up I seem to climb up. It isn't smooth, or also when I doo seem to get. Good line up and then try to slow she doesn't seem to slow down enough. Any help would be great. To me there is like no feel or transition cue to gently pull collective to get into the hover. So frustrated.

    • @CommanderSteinsch
      @CommanderSteinsch  3 роки тому

I believe there is an issue with the trim, it's acting weird. I'm not affected, as I hard trim with my force feedback stick.
You need to slow down earlier or pitch up more. Slowing down sideway also works. Just be careful and add collective on time so that you don't fall like a rock. Adding collective must be usually done gradually, not sharply, or you'll indeed climb.

Thanks for quick reply. When is " On Time" To me there is no feel or cue. Like in all the Other Helis. And mostly MI8 what I flew before.

@@longriflem14 I have to keep a closer eye on vertical speed compared to other helis, to make sure descent rate doesn't get too high. Regarding trim, I use the trim hat for approach and landing, because it needs constant adjustment - try that instead of the force trim button.
