Live version from Rattle and Hum. I'm not sure if I've played this 100% correctly; I was more so looking to get a good tone than anything else. High quality audio: / exit-u2-cover
Instruments/Amplification:
- Epiphone Les Paul
- Squier Jaguar
- POD HD500 (Amp Model: Vox AC30 - Fawn Bright Ch.)
VSTs:
- Addictive Drums 2.0
God I wish U2 would start doing this kind of music once again
They are old men now. Glory years are past and they are basically turning into the Stones. You go to one of their gigs and you pray they don't do any of the new stuff. Unforgettable Fire and Achtung Baby (but not Joshua Tree as much) two of my favourite ever albums. It's sad but it was ever thus. 99% of tbe best music is made before the age of forty (I know there are exceptions).
@@sillysausage4549 love is bigger is a great song and song for someone and every breaking wave are also some great songs. They can still write good songs. Fair enough it not be as rocky as they were but it’s a sign of the times
@@sillysausage4549 Going to disagree slightly as I feel there are at least 3 excellent songs off all of their most recent albums.
@@nickkabbabe1953 that's fine mate; we all have our own opinions. Funnily enough Bono once said in an interview that I still remember - about 35 years ago now - that if your favourite rock star doesn't retire by the age of 30, you should ask for your money back. Guess his opinion changed...
@@sillysausage4549 biggest load of bollocks I've read. The stones are a greatest hits band, the fact U2 don't settle and atleast try and make new stuff sound fresh you should be grateful. You've made such a lazy statement. red flag day, every breaking wave, little things, so on and so on are absolutely incredible songs.
I've listened to this so many times without leaving a comment... Seriously, this is amazing! You've managed to capture all the raw energy that makes this song so epic. Thank you so much for uploading and kudos for this marvelous cover!
me too
You know he got the cure
You know he went astray
He used to stay awake
To drive the dreams he had away
He wanted to believe
In the hands of love
His head it felt heavy
As he cut across the land
A dog started crying
Like a broken hearted man
At the howling wind
At the howling wind
He went deeper into black
Deeper into white
Could see the stars shining
Like nails in the night
He felt the healing
Healing, healing
Healing hands of love
Like the stars shiny shiny
From above
Hand in the pocket
Finger on the steel
The pistol weighed heavy
His heart he could feel
Was beating, beating
Beating, beating oh my love
Oh my love, oh my love
Oh my love
My love
Saw the hands that build
Can also pull down
The hands of love
The Edge needs to see this.
Please come back to UA-cam!! I'm so impressed and no question that you are amazing. Some of the best U2 covers and I'm dying to hear more. Your talent is too good not to be shared!
Such an amazing cover. Thank you for bringing Edge’s brilliance to life with your exceptional talent.
You rock. You did such a great job with the boys on stage!
This song pulls so much raw energy out of it's build up. You can feel it. And she played the hell out of it!!!
Brings back memories from a U2 concert in 1980 in Holland. Pure raw energy rolling down Celtic hills. Bought my first electric guitar after hearing the Edge play, creating edge like sounds with tubes from old radio's. Hearing Eddy van Halen (on tape) playing RwtD, near a riverbed in the south of France. Bottle of beer in one hand looking at the stars. Edge and EvH for me are kindred souls with their own unique expession. Being a guitarist i like what you do. Edge is all about tone and timing and when i close my eyes listening to you it's the same feel and tone. Maybe an EvH song one day? and yes please Robert Smith any day! Thx Steph
Wtf..?? Did they use your music for rattle and hum?? This is 100% spot on. Down to every detail. You’re so talented. Amazing job!
Steph could infuse new life into the band. Could you imagine her and the Edge playing together? It would be beyond fantastic!!
Magnifique. Bravo Steph!
I keep coming back to this. Incredible.
Great cover Stephanie, underrated song from Joshua tree tour
Rattle And Hum version though
This is just soo beautiful
GibsonGirl, excellent job. You nailed the tone and the spirit Edge's playing. Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
OMG This one is particularly spectacular!!
I could listen to your skills all day. You nail it every time but still leave a little bit of yourself in there to make it more than just another cover. I think your 11 O'Clock cover is my fav but this one is four minutes of ear pleasure.
Great job!!! It was amazing that timbre !!! Congratulations!!!
Love the improv you did on the solo. Awesome job!!
Encore et encore, c'est trop bon !!! Steph, tu es la meilleure
Again, you just blew my mind here! Thank you.

I LOVE YOU...YOU PLAY THE GUITAR AS THE EDGE !!!!
This is awesome. I absolutely CRANK the living SNOT out of this song when I play it. Great job!!
sooooo good!
Hello! Amazing cover, my favorite U2 song!
Added to favorites!
Great cover!
you have inspired me today. Thank you.
I have watched the Rattle and Hum movie a lot - and I mean a lot - and this is so great.
Fantastic!
This is amazingly spot on. The tabs out there are so off compared to this. And you’ve done a great job getting the tone so close to the Edge’s. Your style also is the right combination of precision and abandon. Well done!
absolutely loved it awesome job...wish i could play it...
A year later and watching your video over and over I can now play it...yeeww
amazing cover
congratulations greath job
great cover !!!!
Fodástico !!!!! Muito bom !! Nao canso de ver !!

Fantastic guitar songs..
nailed it!
A spiritual essence with loaded heart felt raw emotions spilling over brim .
I just discovered your amazing work. I know life is always moving forward. I hope you're still discovering music to play, especially U2.
Would love to see you play "Wire "
Absolutamente fantástico!!
Epic choice! For me, this is easily u2s darkest, most intense tune. One of the (numerous) highlights of the live JT tour. Have you heard anthrax's cover of it? Its really rather good
+gg41r One of my favourites/Joshua Tree tour highlights as well. I wish they still played it live (though I can understand why they don't). I haven't heard that cover, but I will check it out.
Thanks for anthrax reference. Not a bad cover by them.

Agreed. Exit and Acrobat.
Awesome!
Wow, Edgette!!! excellent
this song in their lives is something spectacular
émotion émotion émotion... je kiff trop!!! merci :*
Ive always wanted these songs without Bono vocals. You are the only one who can channel Edge. Thanks! Fingers insanely long.
Very cool! I would like suggest the "Rejoice" song of the album October
Good stuff!

would love u2 to return to this music.
You are the best
Great stuff Steph......your music is epic.........this song........ particularly the R&H live version with Edge goin nuts in black & white......... and 11 o'clock @ RR are just burned into my soul. Congrats on the performance with band also........dreams do come true :) Cheers from OZ
This is amazing, I'd really like to figure out this sound. I understand the basic set up of Delay, compression, and shimmer. But I'm confused by the delay time and compression type, can you help me with that?
This is so good! Great sound.. Can we start a U2 Tribute band? What Gear do you use?
Bravo ;o))
Buen talento te felicito espero algún día poder entonar la guitarra
I love this better than the original U2 recording!
No one will ever match the original
Wow, can you share the delay settings?..great cover
Hmm, I guess I haven't hear this U2 song, I'm going to have to check it out (my last cover was New Year's Day)
Hey there! Loved this! Are the pickups stock from the Epi Standard? Thanks.
the edga master
Very good! What country are you from?
Subbed 10 years ago, stopped posting 2 years ago. Hoping all's well and more videos to come 👍
If you ever wanted to do some videos on how you get these tones, I wouldn't hate that!
I'm trying to get a good sound out of my pod hd500.. Not quite happy with the ac30 tb model.. Is the ac30 fawn model better?
I prefer the AC30 Fawn, yeah. It sounds a little closer to a real AC30 than the stock sim on the HD500 (obviously still nowhere near as good as the real thing, though), and you have more control over it than the AC Tone pedal (which is still good tone-wise, but a bit of a hassle). You can hear better audio / a better patch here if you're still trying to make up your mind: soundcloud.com/gibsongirl-2/exit-u2-cover-take-2 There isn't much else going on there, besides the AC30 Fawn.
+GibsonGirlTheSecond sweet, thanks for the link! Are you using the bright version?
No problem! And yes, it's the bright model. The normal Fawn doesn't really work for U2, but could be suitable for other stuff.
+GibsonGirlTheSecond thanks for everything! I just wanted to be sure it would be what I'm looking for before purchasing. Not many people using the fawn models. My concern was it having the right top boost sound and chime for u2 stuff.
Top Notch! Do you know your delay settings on this one...I can't get a good sound with it in the verse especially. are you using dotted 8th or another setting?
