when I was 13 and homeless(kick out 3 months, every summer which was awesome to me) but lived in a rich town on Long Island where we all made enough to buy cheap cars, and we still had dirt roads out east in farmland Long Island...I remember hooking the radio straight to the battery of this 400$ VW, and driving down this wavy road in the pouring rain and wind, it was a hot summer night and you couldn't see the sky, and I was speeding so fast and when this came on...I went insane...and every time I play it on the drums that night is playing in the back of my mind..such a short song, such great power....you can feel the wind and rain..
They played all 11 songs from The Joshua Tree album in order, so it is inevitable they would play 'Exit'. I saw them in London on that tour, I was impressed - the screen they had was the biggest screen anyone has ever built. The tour had running costs of £500,000, that's $680,000, a day including all the non-gig days - that is £3,500,000 or $4,760,000 a week.
One of my all time most fave u2 tunes. So dark, so meanacing. This song was a highlight on the original tour of 1987.....and it was THE high point of the 30th Anniversary tour.
I loved this song way back in 2001 when no one else did. It is nice to see it circulating into the mainstream! Now i have all these new different live versions of the song now!! 😊 👍
During certain moments, sometimes I wish Bono would just shut up and let the music shine like he did in the Rattle and Hum "Exit", that performance still gives me shivers
I was at this concert and was actually working undercover feet in front of stage w/20 other agents due to what we took ( someone took?) valid threat “ of some sort” was the wild part. So we enjoyed ourselves vey much !
Wow!!! Thanks for sharing!!!! That was AWESOME!!!!! I can't believe they're doing this tour!!! Can't wait, going in 3 weeks in NY/NJ!! Thank you U2 for ALL the GREAT music over the years!!!
My friend and I saw this tour in Detroit and I remember leaning over to him and saying “yo, watch this” as he wasn’t familiar with it and I had been watching clips online of the past performances over the years. It’s my third favorite U2 song.
hahaha i was at this one with my folks, parents’ fav band and they wanted us kids to see them live too, they were a fav of mine before and that show only deepened my appreciation for the band
Gotta say exit was one that floated through my (me) (you) (them) (those) (that) (others) (thy) heart. The travel's continue. You do remind me of my father Mr. Paul. Our home is yours. Much love.
@@ricjuk Not agreed with you: Boy, October, War, Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum, Achtung Baby... Their legacy is much more than you mention in that comment. Cheers!
I heard this sono in Rome and i was surprised for that powerful version , really amazing and so "contemporary " after 30 years!! Thanks Tim for this video!!!!!
Exit with some "Rattle and Hum" cords, this version is awesome. And as always an epic song with an epic message, very similar to R&H - Bullet the Blue Sky "...And a preacher on the old time gospel hour -- stealing money from the sick, and the old --- Well, the God I believe in isn't short on cash, mister!"
Hey Tim! I was just telling someone in the GA line about your amazing work and that I met you during 360 in Chicago. Are you at the Sun Chicago show too? I'm here right now.
Wow the audio s excellent fuckin technology is great now you don't have to buy DVDs of concerts you can recorded with a portable camera and posted this song is my favorite from the album is so bombastic it reminds me a little bit of queen
Leave it to Bono to have the mic stand bolted in the ground, pretty wicked. It's funny how for the last couple of years, Bono went from literally fighting and dancing with the mic stand and using it like a weapon to it being fully stationary. Definitely the top in live settings
Juat fucking fantastic. Like so many U2 songs......in the studio, fine, meh, okay, mmmmm......live they just take on their own life and literally come alive. One of the greatest live bands in history.
when I hear this song I get chills ...every version of this song is amazing
graveytrain exactly!
I agree with you fully
Sooo true
The same..... what a song

I am so happy that they are playing Exit on this tour. It is so powerful
Quality Classic Tune.

POWER full
Best band of all time? Yes. Best live band of all time? Yes.
No creo que la mejor. Una de las mejores seran escuchaste alguna vez rush esa banda era espectacular.
Best band of all time. That would be the Beatles. Best Live band? U2 are good, but there are dozens that are better.
Then now forever
Most Overly Political group of all time and needs to shut up and entertain. Screw your hateful ZOO.
That's an understatement...........
Great vid! Exit and Mothers of the Disappeared were incredible!!

It's unreal how great those guys, manage to capture the energy of a great song........ in concert!!!!
thank you for sharing this epic performance of the best band in the universe.
OptimusXian Prime my thoughts exactly
They really discovered just how powerful this track is on this tour. Saw it a few times and it was so brilliantly loud too
I loved this song way back in 2001 when no one else did. It is nice to see it circulating into the mainstream! Now i have all these new different live versions of the song now!! 😊 👍
Well said
Same for me
I was there I loved it was so freak-en awesome my 1st u2 concert
I'm glad the guy recording this song knew that Edge's guitar was the protagonist in this one.
It's the protagonist in all of them.
The quality Sound & Vision recording is Even better than the reel think!
Shit, that energy. I LOVE THIS SONG
incredible song!!
when I hear this song I get chills everytime
Joshua Tree, Classic album, picked it up at a carboot sale many years ago on cassette original copy for £2, love this tune!
Thank you so much for sharing this!
This was my concert. Still gives me chills hearing edge open the throttle

Yeah! Good to see you are back!
My friend and I saw this tour in Detroit and I remember leaning over to him and saying “yo, watch this” as he wasn’t familiar with it and I had been watching clips online of the past performances over the years.
It’s my third favorite U2 song.
what are your first 2 then?
@@lerakxkorb Bad - it has special meaning for me personally and the other would be Sunday Bloody Sunday
That feeling when Bono hooks his foot on the stand like he's working that pole...
I saw them on June 20 at FedEx Field in MD. Incredible concert!
Just AWESOME!
Adam Claytons Bass Guitar is Awesome
Thanks for sharing

Aunque lleven demasiado tiempo en decadencia.....escuchó esto y se me olvida.
Simplemente estan por encima del bien y del mal
Bono, no sunglasses just hat, no fake, just U2 pure Rock'n Roll
Shame it only lasted for one song...

@@ST1973 Errrrrm, I thought it was pretty obvious that I was talking about how he only took his sunglasses off for one song...
@@ricjuk He has been taking them off for a lot of the current shows in Vegas
Beautiful 🖤
OMG this is so Awesome
While I drive my car in Seoul, I always listen to this song. In some day, I want to see U2 concert in South Korea.
Hong’s family 2019 December man! Your dreams come true!
Hong’s family are you going to watch that tour?
The power of wishful thinking
Was incredible live in Pittsburgh. It sounded and looked like a war zone it was so loud and angry plus all the smoke and flashing lights.
Which camera did you use? Is spectacular!!!!!!
I second that.
This probably is the Panasonic tz100 4k...
Panasonic fz300, audio recorded separately.
Thanks!
my favorite and it comes soon on 25/07 in Paris.
at the howling wind........
I LOVE THEIR MUSIC, AWSOME,THEY HAVE A UNIQUE SOND and SONGS😉
LOVE THIS SONG. I WISH IT WOULD STAY about the depressed, sucicidal guy in the plot...like instead of going into politics in the begining before song!
It’s like I’m there! Chills!!

For years I’ve always believed that Paper Dolling has the best U2 live footage out there!
Wow, thank you!
Big props to the cameraperson.
Another level. U2.
the frantic walk down/up the incline is the best part!
Love this tune. Amazing Live!
One of my favorite U2 songs, so raw and intense. So happy I got to hear it live during their Joshua Tree tour.

LOVE
I noticed Bono broke out his JT Tour 1987 outfit (including vest and hat) for this song.
He's just missing the ponytail.
Nope. This is a new character called Shadow Man. U2 aren't that pathetic to dress like they used too.
It's a completely different hat style.
Connor Fin Larry wore a similar shirt to that era.
Great band!! Followed them back in 1978!!
Superb video - great job and one of my fave U2 tracks. What did you use to film this may I ask? That's some camera you have!
This Soldier Field was the first 360 tour show
Fantastic truth and first class rocker.
Great performance! I still think I prefer the Rattle & Hum version on this one though.
GTTeancum Yes!
We all do but I prefer The Edge's sound in this one
Bellissima
I so totally love and respect you guys👌❤️ Hope you’re doing alright during this frightening pandemic
What a cool, weird, cryptic, great song.

Epic - Edge 😍
The ultimate version of this track is in the Rattle and Hum movie!🤘🏻

The imagery in this song fits the imagery on the news.

What a fuckin trip !! Amazing Live version xx
Just fucking great...
Before I watched this show I saw them playing the same song 30 years ago (1987) and bono sounds the same!!!!!!!

Great, thx ! Hopefully you give this to free u2fan-platforms
''saw that hands that build can also pull down''
A música Rock and Roll do mundo.
Anybody hears this guitar? Unbelievable!
they added more dates to their JT tour..
I didn't know Robin Williams could sing so good!
Love that twitchy guitar.
Segura , o Edge com os efeitos sonoros vai Brasil
What kind of guitar is ? I'm looking for....
