Richtofen is about to walk out but a radio is heard in the background. We hear, Steve Blum's voice but younger. And he's saying "director we could really use your help here..." that would be an amazing cliffhanger
I understand what you are saying but because the game takes place in 84, Dempsey would be really old. Since he was in origins during world war 1, let’s assume he was 20 at that time, he would be in his nineties. The only reason Richthofen is young in Cold War is because as a child, he was sent to this “perfect universe” around the 60s. The other characters technically do (or did) exist in this new universe, but never met or new about zombies, and most likely died from old age

@@nuk4lear when they broke the cycle the other kids weren’t a thing yet, it was only Eddie and Sam. The cycle broke before the kid versions of takeo Dempsey and nikolai were made from the souls of ultimus. Revelations never happened when the cycle broke

Theory: I think those 4 characters Requiem being arrested was executed to death, the Forsaken shows us what will happen next, he might tell the truth about that. Or the old friends are referring to them and Requiem team being prisonners but who knows. The ending is a good ending but not happy ending. It's so sad Weaver doesnt deserve this after saving the world 2 times ( bo1 and forsaken).
Well we will have to wait 2 years for a sequel and this year a sequel. I just can't wait to see how it will end.
I hope when zc2 comes out it's slot like rev but it has all of the bo2 zombie maps with either the original crew or the cold war version

My theory: Peck survived the explosion (obviously as that cutscene at the end confirms that) and realized all the shit he did, all the bad he did.. and just how much of a rat he was. So he turns into a better person. Betters himself and goes out to seek a device that will allow him to time travel. He breaks Weaver, Dr. Grey, Dr. Strauss, and Major Carver out of imprisonment but not the fireteam since they were most likely executed. They travel back in time to when the Germans were experimenting with this, and finds 4 Nazi soldiers. Two of them being Jewish and simply forced into the Army so they wouldn't be caught, and 2 officers who were against Hitler. They tell them the situation, and the 4 agree to help prevent the Forsaken from ever existing, and destroy the Dark Aether. They go inside the Dark Aether and destroy the first layer (purple) and find a second layer (red, since this was leaked a bit ago that there was a red Dark Aether) and end up having to destroy that one. Along the way, one of the soldiers die and we meet Nikolai who was trapped in the Dark Aether, who survived that gunshot and ended up being saved by Zykov, who had just entered recently (they can't destroy the Dark Aether before Zykov entered it) and so they all search for Zykov, so now it's Nikolai and 3 Nazi soldiers who are secretly against the Nazi's. Then, at the final map they find an evolving Zykov, just starting to become the Forsaken. This is the final boss fight. They destroy Zykov, and destroy the Dark Aether, but sacrificing themselves. Weaver, Peck, Grey, Strauss, and Carver all have their moment of silence, and returned to their world, where they find that the Dark Aether still existed, and took over their world... but now in a blue variation. There was another layer... and Eddie is controlling it now. That will lead to the next game. Thoughts, even if it doesn't seem likely, would it be cool?
That… is a hell of a theory, Raider. I think much of it could be likely. But, we’ll just have to wait and see what will happen.

Not sure about the layers of the dark aether bit. From my understanding the old aether dimension was a multiverse in which all the events from World at War, Black Ops 1 through 4 happened in multiple universes of the aether. They revealed that just like the aether was a multiverse the dark aether also works the same that way.
Personally I really enjoy the aspect of time travel in zombies but I doubt they would do it, or at least not in the regular world since its the loop and the paradox that shattered the regular world into a multiverse and also corrupted it, hence the existence of element 115 in the aether storyline and its absence in Cold War. Therefore I doubt they'd do time travel in the regular world because that would most likely undo all that Primis and Ultimis sacrificed to achieve.
Time travel should be possible without risking this problem if done inside the dark aether, though there could still be issues there. We know times works differently in the Dark Aether but we don't know if it's completely disconnected from time in the regular world. We know that 40 years in regular world is 400 years in the dark aether but if that relation isn't uniform/linear through time (sometimes not as slow as compared to regular world and sometimes much slower) it's unlikely time travel there will pose a threat to the regular world.

Honestly it was such a clear thing to do. Have zykov be the bad guy.. I wish they would have had him be the good guy. And instead have the forsaken take over the russian cernal instead (cant remeber his name)
And then it would have been Zykov and peck working together to stop the invation would ahve been a hell of a lot cooler. . :(

I have a theory. Could Richthofen be part of another organisation? In the final cutscene on his group memo, it says stuff like ‘my agents’ and ‘I will shut down Requiem’, and of course the stuff about Maxis and project JANUS. So maybe this stuff is a message to his accomplices outside of the CIA. Perhaps a dark aether version of Group 935
Could the other organization be the Illuminati cause he did do stuff with them in the Aether story
Richtofen was/is a Assistant Deputy Director in a shadow organization under CIA DS&T (Department of science and technology) I don't remember the name of the shadow organization but the specialize in paranormal activities. He is also a member of "the board of directors" presumably DS&T directors, they are the ones he writes to.
You will learn more from the season 4 - 6 Intel but short version is after the breaches started appearing President tasked CIA with handling the situation. Uninvited Richtofen came to one of the meetings of the board of directors and he presented them with a plan "the office of Requiem" and he put himself forward as the director and he chose Weaver to lead the ground operations.
As for project JANUS that's something DS&T has interest in and we currently no nothing about what it is other than it involves the Forsaken's soul and it probably has something to do with the new facility that DS&T is building in I think Virginia.

maxis will come back, this kinda reminds me of when eleven sacrificed herself into the upside down in season 1, she will find a way out
With her being stuck in the dark aether, with 5 year's already passing. If Zykov was stuck in the DAE for 40 years, while in that realm it actually been 400 years. By the time she's out, her appearance will be changed, mind and soul (50 DAE years)

During the fight against The Forsaken that corrupts Zykov (Asmodeus), y'all know Lev Kravchenko survives the gas line explosion due to his partner Dr. Peck's stupidity that led him came to Call of Duty: Black Ops II in mission 3 for his return. 12:31. 🤔.

imo Samantha comes back in Vanguard its right that they arrived in 1960 but time works differently in the Dark Aether which could Explain those things that were written in Die Maschine like the cursed one will rise again he never Arrived before to arrive again it could be like samantha in 1980s went into the DA but time works differently it makes her go into the past from 1940s she sees the Forsaken she tells us it will rise again but in reality forsaken is actually dead so she gets out in 1940s trying to stop the Nazis from trying to make an army

Besides knowing that this Easter Egg was the most easiest in my Opinion my thought is that it would have been a better gameplay if one of the Players had to Play maxis and had some side step to the easter egg where she would have trained her powers to defeat Zykov
They are not paying Strike Team enough, they've been through at least three sets of locations filled with Zombies
Perhaps in the the next chapter, Peck will act as the radio person who instructs players on what to do while also providing story details, And then Weaver, Carver, Grey and Strauss can be the main playable characters, and then of course we could maybe have a map or two where Eddie comes in as a side announcer to Peck or as a temporary replacement character for one of the four for some story related reason. And then Sam can probably be squeezed in similar was with Eddie. And in the final chapter, I like to think that the Forsaken's promise of what was to come to the four was true, but it's that they will end up sacrificing themselves to end the connection to the dark Aether once and for all. And even though I am slightly apposed to the idea, perhaps time travel with the 40s can be involved too. And even though we probably won't see Dempsey, Takeo and Nikolai again, perhaps their children could ban together in a map? Maybe even with Eddie's kid. Anyways, just a thought, loved this games entire revival of the mode, can't wait to see what Vanguard has in store.
I also think in this map, when Zykov first transforms and when first fights Sam, he probably should have turned into a ShadowMan looking entity that flew around with the same abilities as Sam, so them flying around firing at each other would have looked a lot more equal in stakes than being one sided with the Forsaken not even being phased by Sam's attacks, and then maybe in the final half of the boss fight, he could transform into the form we see in game. Just a thought.

If I had to guess, the trap knocked Peck unconscious but not Kravchenko. Him, seeing his partner motionless, thought he was dead and fled the place
