As a former infernalist I can confirm that this is absolutely correct. I must confess that when I first began to question infernalism it DID enrage me. I could not tell you exactly WHY it enraged me, only that it did. Literally for no logical reason. Only after pursuing the truth over the next 3 years was I able to let go of my idol of ECT and penal substitutionary atonement. I began to experience the warmth of the truth that emanates from the book and the truth that Abba is indeed truly GOOD!

You should keep analyzing why you felt this way and, if you are successful in finding out why, share the reason(s) with other people. I say this because many of us are really interested in understanding why some infernalists feel the way you did.

I have a friend who is a psychotherapist that has developed a theory around rage. Her name is Sue Parker-Hall. Her theory is that rage is connected to trauma. It just hit me reading your comment that it's possible that people become so enraged because the concept of eternity in hell is ultimately incredibly traumatising. What would be your thoughts on this?

Somehow I missed this clip. I'm glad it came up in my feed today. Thank you Mr. Hart, for sharing boldly, and without apology, the loving character of God. I have held too tightly to the false doctrine of ETC, trying to explain how the Father, who I knew to be loving, could also be a God who couldn't help but only save a few. I am ashamed I foolishly tried to reconcile God's love with cruelty. Even now, I need more of His wisdom, and more courage to share the truth about God's redemption of all mankind. Please pray I would share in faith, not shrinking back. But also in humility.

I think it's a temptation when we meet obnoxious, insistent closed minded people to be obnoxious, insistent and closed minded back. You have to remember that if God loves all people that includes the most bitter calvinist who enjoys thoughts of seeing people in hell.

Throughout the Scriptures, God's proclaimers are direct. Why pussyfoot? Paul told Timothy (2 Tim 4:2) to "Herald the word. Stand by it, opportunely, inopportunely, expose, rebuke, entreat, with all patience and teaching." Being the exposee is no fun, and can be painful. As we expose, people's feelings are not our primary concern.

I'm with you. I love that DBH doesn't pussyfoot. Attack and destroy. ECT is a cruel doctrine that blasphemes God and needs to be taken out back and shot.
As for infernalists, these people believe eternal torture can be justified. Now they want to complain about DBH being "harsh"?

@@christopherconey732 The subject of the sentence is the doctrine of ECT. Recognise the actual subject of the sentence and then consider its predicate. Do this and you'll realise that what I said can only be taken metaphorically. One cannot literally shoot a doctrine. One could literally shoot human adherants of a doctrine, but human adherants of the doctrine of ECT are not the subject of the sentence.
Literacy tip: Read what's actually there in a sentence, not what you'd like to read into it.

Professor DBH is the wisest and most learned man on earth.
Let's hope he keeps looking benignly down upon ignorant people like me,
    and speaking words of wisdom,
that even dolts like me can, sort of, understand.
Actually, that was somewhat tongue in cheek I hasten to add.
But, to be slightly serious, why does even DBH and other people say persons instead of people? Sounds like a lawyer talking .....
