- For the first time on this channel, we're not breaking down a music video or live performance, but the making of the video itself! I check out Electric Callboy's making of "We Got The Moves" and use my knowledge from working on music video sets to break down a little more of what's going on, give a little more background info on the video, and have a few laughs along the way!

now, after having watched so many reactions to song videos, and eskimo callboy songs lately, i have to say, you are by far the best of them all. I love your point of view, with your own experience in the field, knowing bands, having worked with them, know the music, and equipment. All the information and comparisons you do are so valuable for an curious outsider like me, who just freshly got into eskimo callboys songs :)

I adore them for being so down-to-earth and including overseas fans by providing subs, but you could NEVER translate their goofiness into another language - a thing I feel so spectacularly sorry about. I'm pretty sure there's lots of bands that arrive on set "just like that" and do their thing, but I believe that EC will always be wanting to do their thing themselves and that's so admirable nowadays tbh. Great video btw!
"It's a wrap!" or German "Drehschluss!" is indeed the best thing one can hear on a movie set. Been there, done that. :D
I like the way your head bop starts as soon as the beat fires up.
The camera op had an Elgato StreamDeck as part of his setup, for on-the-fly changes through a computer. That's insanely creative and I can't believe I never thought of it.
That piece of tech is really versatile.
I always thought that bands are not really involved in all the prepping for a video, like building the set etc. and just arrive to filming when everything is set up. But these guys are so hands-on. In the making of of the Hypa Hypa video, you can see that they even built the Hypa Hypa sign themselves. I like it, it feels like they are involved in the entire process, not "just" the shooting of the video.
Yeah, it's really hit and miss. Some bands are also super hands on, when others just leave it up to the production teams to do everything and just come in and film.
I think a different approach of "getting the fans included" is the VLOG of Sabaton of their Great Tour, where they filmed inside the tour bus, they recorded the stage buildup including details of the kilogramms of pyro for the whole tour, the showed the sound checks, the warm up in the dressing room. Also a nice "behind the scenes" and we all now you like Sabaton!!!

As an animator in movie VFX I always find the onset and compositing stuff fascinating.
whoop whoop Tank!!! I sooooo hoped anyone would do a reaction to one of the "making-of"s. And now it is done by the one who fits most. As a Roadie, you know what it takes to prepare shows, to manage tech and equipment. And, perhaps, to not screw it because of hillarious moments? Who knows?
and not disapointed. You WERE the right one, you even could not resist the headbob and spotted so many things. Please also react to the making ofs to the hypa hypa videos and also to the mentioned my mother told me by saltatio mortis. Great stuff. Oh, and make sure EC sees this, so you can get them to call you, once they need a roadie for the us tour, where you can do some on-the-road-bts live reactions.
I literally live like 10 Minutes away from Lünen... I still can't get my head around the fact that it is mentioned in internationally watched videos.

Making ofs are on the same level as it'S music videos in my opinion. To see what you think about all the stuff in the video, is just as interesting as you enjoying a new music video!
So I would like to see more of this stuff! Maybe some making ofs from Rammstein Music videos. They're so fking interesting :D
And still, at the start of each of your videos I loudly say "Get with this!", then get slightly sad. But then, the hype kicks back in and I'm fine!

We have some 5000 W fixtures in our theater, but they are not used anymore, we work with 2000 and 1000 only. Our national TV once came to shoot a performance, and they brought two 5000 W fixtures to light the scene from up and behind - it was quite warm to stand under them. :)

Alot of people saying germans don`t have humor. Well... this is a prime example that should prove those claims wrong.
Also, just seeing them interact makes clear they not only love and enjoy what they are doing, but are having fun with each other. Thats something they have in common with Feuerschwanz. I think loving what you do, taking themselfs not to serious and liking each other creates kind of a working environment that really helps creating enjoyable music.
In terms of the music: you have to give MAD props to the writer of these songs. They don`t just throw stuff together. On paper, even I might not think it should work, but they are so creative and good that it does work very very well. Managing this not on one occation but on several: yeah, thats why it`s called art.

I just love these guys, they´re just normal fckd up dudes having fun and not some arrogant Idiots. They know how to handle social media and especialy yt. And as a German to understand every word of what they´re saying is just pure bliss, there´s so much funny slang that is lost in translation :D
i really wanted to know why they chose the US cop outfits and car. that part immediately stood out to me. everything else in the video screams germany. it's probably a waste of time to think about that, since it's all so random anyway. :D
To get a German Police Car its so much paper work its not worth it as only big film companies have it a bit easier. And making a fake one with fake uniforms is forbidden with some exceptions. I think thats the reason, german burocratie at its best^^
I think EC meanwhile is aiming at an international audience.
I think once in a while, when there is a good BTS Video then do it. cause once in a while this can be fun like this time :)
On the topic of "the sun".. That lamp was made by a company called Arri (if I am not badly mistaken) and I think they're halogen. While 6K is pretty bright and all... I have worked in one of the biggest opera houses in Germany for some time and in one production we had two (!) 12K Arris...... standing level on the back of the stage pointing directly at the audience... THAT WAS BRIGHT :D I think I had a blind spot for a day or two after making the mistake and looking into that stuff... So yeah better not do that if you see one of those bad boys somewhere, even with the 6Ks. that is not such a bright idea (pun intended) ;)
