今日茶席，第251席【心有猛虎】
獅子牡丹紋是明中晚期陶瓷裝飾的常見題材。古人認為獅子可以驅邪納吉、彰顯權貴。“獅”與“世”諧音，牡丹花有富貴之意，故此紋飾寓意“世世富貴”。且獅子為百獸之王，牡丹為花中之王，故而此紋飾也被稱為“雙王圖”。“獅”又與“事”諧音，雙獅謂之事事如意。
“唐獅子牡丹”紋樣素來是中日兩國文化中的一個美學形象，類似於西方的“心有猛虎，細嗅薔薇”，有互為輝映，相得益彰之意。

獅子牡丹紋は明代の中期と後期に陶磁器の装飾としてよく見られる題材です。
昔の人は獅子は邪気を払って福を呼び込む力があると考えていました。また「獅」は「世」と発音が同じで、牡丹は富を象徴することから、この紋様は「世世富貴（代々豊かであること）」を意味します。そして獅子は百獣の王で牡丹は花の中の王なので、この紋様は「双王図」とも呼ばれます。「獅」は「事」とも発音が同じなので、「双獅」は「事事（全てのこと）」を意味するのです。
「唐獅子牡丹紋」は中国と日本でずっと美のイメージでした。西洋の「In me the tiger sniffs the roseとも似ていますね。お互いに照らし合って、助け合うことを意味しています。

The lion and peony motif is a common theme for ceramic decoration in the mid and late Ming dynasty.
The ancients believed that lions had the power to ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune. Also, “獅 (lion)” is pronounced the same as “世” (world), and peonies symbolize wealth, so this motif means “世世富貴(wealthy for generations).” And since the lion is the king of animals and the peony is the king of flowers, this motif is also called “双王図(twin king picture).” “獅” is pronounced the same as “事” (matter), so “双獅” means “事事” (every matter).
The 唐獅子牡丹図(Chinese lion and peony motif) has always been an image of beauty in China and Japan. It is similar to the Western phrase "In me the tiger sniffs the rose." It means shining on each other and helping each other.
