I know right! My brother bought a BlackBerry Curve 9630 and still has it! Of course the services are down but it works perfect for a backup phone of some sort.
Just put the sim back in my Classic. I had used it all last year. I was doing fine with just text, calls, email, and calendar (I use no social media). I tried some new phones with “more features”. Turns out the newer phones were distractions. My text, calls, emails, or calendar functions didn’t get any better. They just required constant attention to see if you’ve missed something. I quickly developed the “tap or swipe your phone to look for missed notifications” habit. With each phone purchased, I was attempting to reproduce a feature that was in the Classic. Then I’d go back to the Classic and quickly realize why I keep coming back. No need for me to look further. This is the best phone for me.

Same here mostly. A bot of Facebook messenger here and there, but the downside for me is not having gps, as i need it on daily basis. That's killed it for me. Google playstore... Well no matter what anyone is saying it does suck big time. Kills the battery, and wont work properly. The lag is terrible and again, no gps. Shame, i really wanted to stick to this phone

I've just bought one from ebay for £25, I remember it was super expensive when it came out, and now you can use android apps on it, it's the most beautiful phone ever made, and I love blackberry, I've had a q5, q10, leap, curve, z10, all phones look the same these days, the blackberry classic looks amazing, it holds up perfect alongside all versions of apple and android devices, the only downfall is no finger print scanner, but over all its awesome
I would buy the classic or the passport even now but the lack of app support just puts me off. Shame as it was a great design.
No. BB 10 OS supports apps for Android OS and you can use what ever apps you want. And trust me, when you take BB device in your hands, this brand will be instant your no.1. And one day, when you use some of BB's better models like Classic or Passport, you will understand exactly what I'm talking about. The amazon App Store is on the phone and has quite a bit of apps you can get on android. Plus I think there’s a way to install other android apps not on the amazon App Store
Well, that's not really true. Most of the apps through Google playstore wont work properly and not to mention makes the phone lag like crazy and kills the battery in no time.
I still use this beauty, side by side with my iPhone 8 Plus. Love my bb classic!!

okay I need some serious help. I wanna do exactly the same. I have an iphone 7 but how do you have 2 sim cards? Do you get another phone number or do you do hotspot sharing or some other wizardry? I've been thinking about it a lot but nobody mentions it and im gonna go crazy
Berkay Ergun personal sim on my iPhone, I use the classic with hotspot and WiFi for telegram and email accounts.

My favorite BB model and the most beautiful phone device till now with no doubt at all. And when we compare Classic with Passport, the real fact is that most of BB lovers will chose this model. This world will never produce such a unique device like BB Classic anymore.

I'm from Bosnia and probaly the only guy in my hometown Tuzla who's still using a BB. My bro told me that he never saw someone else is using a BB phone. The BB phones aren't known in my Balkans region (a part of Europe's continent), but for me, I fell in love with keypad phones when I had a Nokia C-3. Since that, I can't leave a keyboard phones and switch to full touchscreen phone models.
BB Q20 Classic for me is the most beautiful and elegant, and also small and cute phone model ever, it's build of premium quality materials, looks so good, it's powered by BB10 OS which is the most secure on the market similar to Linux phones, it's very productive, stable, works good and of course, he brings a lot of attention. People are literally staring at my phone and sayin' somethin' like, "Wow, a cool small phone". I'm not a heavy user of soc. media apps, so honestly, this BB phone mostly satisfies all my needs even now in 2020/21., and of course, it makes me different and unique in a sea of people who's favorising Android and iPhone phones.
For me, quality, security and productivity are more important than a very high specs, amazing cams for taking photos and mega screen for consuming media. Yes, as I said, Classic is the most beautiful for me and it still have the best BB keyboard 'cause most of BB fans are sayin' that. I will buy a Passport too and complete my colletion of BB's which will be just two models, Classic and Passport. I will switch to Passport just because of better specs and bigger screen, but I will keep my Classic and switch back to them when I become old man.
And If I ever decide to switch to Android OS, it will be some of BB's models again like a Key2 LE. Typing on virtual keyboard is just terrible, and it always will be, so for all people around the globe who likes chating more than calling and talking, keypads will be always the coice no.1.
BlackBerry phones are unique 'cause of a mix of very high quality, security and productivty, and on top of that, some models are Androish too. BB company could be easily the leader on the IT market again, but they don't have enough buyers for their phones. In vice-verse situation, I'm pretty sure that company would continue with producing phones and keep investing in new technologies, innovations and features, but there is not a lot of BB users, just a little who actually wants to enjoy in high quality phones as much as they can.
We have no too much apps, dev's doesn't making apps for BB10 OS anymore, but we don't blame them 'cause BB company is actually responsible for this situation, they're guilty for their fall 'cause they never cared about BB's eco-system. I mean, they simply don't care about their phone users, especially akcuse of a guy nammed John Chen who's leading this company on his "chinese bussiness way" which actually means on the cheap way.
This is our tragedy, but we will keep using BB phones as much as possible. And we hope that a new company nammed OnwardMobility who will make a new BB flaghip phone soon will make the same mistake as BB company did.

I still have my Classic and I use it as my second phone. I have whatsapp and pretty quick internet for simple surfing. Great for calls and emails. Plus UA-cam is great! Especially with the great sound that comes out of this beauty 😀

I do miss having more options for devices. It seems the only thing companies wanna offer are these glass slabs anymore. There is a market for people who would like a physical keyboard on their phone though.
But small market. I Saw someone with Parkinson use it in comment. Maybe people with disabelitys can preferb it that's why phones are made of glass+price wich consumers decide to agree.
S Ge maybe People who want to type effectively and with less mistakes prefer a keyboard too. Try doing any official work on a laptop on its touchscreen. You need a physical keyboard for that.

Would take so much extra time. Its a phone not a office so use it as a phone not writing scripts.
And i still think my Xiaomi mi9 do better for this purpose. I use word on it without isue, open all files, type faster then BB and take better photo for my customers.
I just keep saying physical keyboard are only better for a select group of people like a disability as parkinson that's why the market is so tiny.
Ive had a BB and Nokia but the time change.
I need my camera for my work because I breed exotics. But i think for 99% of use a touchscreen work better for multiple reason.

Judging by recent blackberry sales starting with the Q10, through the Key2, every single person in the market for a phone with a physical keyboard is in this comments section (including myself).
Using the KeyOne right now but the Classic was my favorite model out of all the BB's I've had!

Lechiffresix six whatsapp on bb10 wasn't working good in 2018-19 for picture sending. But it's was ok for text . I think it will stay the same in 2020.

Bought a classic in 2015 and never used it. Last week I saw in UA-cam how to install Google Playstore. So I tried it and succeeded. Now I'm using the classic as a second phone primarily for the WhatsApp.

I purchased a BB Classic on eBay new a year ago. Used to use iPhones all the time and found I don't use all the apps, so I went back to trusty Blackberry because of the keyboard. I'll use it till I can't anymore, then maybe purchase a new Blackberry, if they keep making it? 💪

I have essential tremor. The physical keys allow me to type without a problem. Keyboards that are on the screen I have difficulty with because the involuntary movement of my fingers cause misspelling and are frustrating.

Besides the hardware, BB10 put the smart in smart phones. Still enjoying the use of my Z30. I'm no app man, so still couldn't care less about most social media distractions. That being said, I've got some Android devices kickin' around for apps that just don't work right with BB10. Have a blessed day sir.

I had this model of Classic phone. Terrific phone. If you have one today and took care of it, it should be working terrific today. There are replacement batteries available, but hard to find. The other big drawback is the OS in this phone is no longer supported. Using it as a basic smart phone should still be very secure and it will work very well.
I have a Key2 which I upgraded from the Key1. I would prefer to have the form factor and feel of the Classic if this was possible to have it working on Android. The Passport was also a terrific phone. The Passport was a bit wide for easy handling, but it was a great phone. I used a Passport for a while.

Honestly this phone was amazing and I think I’ll always find myself wishing I still had mine. Gorgeous design, but just not “good enough”. Biggest problem I find myself having is that everyone I message uses an iPhone, so if I got anything other than an iPhone now, the lack of iMessage’s instant messaging style would drive me crazy. Wish I could go back

I still use my passport. BB was built for longevity which is what I despise about apple, who wants you to buy a new expensive phone.... for what?? This was an excellent review.

I miss the simplicity of phones a few years back, but I do have the self control to avoid a bunch of apps like useless social media. I have an 11 pro and only have productivity apps, finance apps, or apps for work like office and xcel. I use my phone for texts, calls, alarms, emails. The only social media I have is UA-cam and Instagram which I don’t use insta much. UA-cam I watch mainly tech product reviews. People lack control these days. Don’t get me wrong this phone is great, but I’d rather have the latest tech available, not go back just because of some quirks.
I really don't understand why they are shutting down the OS. It's by far the best for those who just want to use a smartphone without that huge clutter. It really is a shame. And don't get me started on the form factor which is unique as hell.
Just put down my Key2, and using my Classic again...this phone is just so dumb addictive!

What do we think? A) buy a BB classic now and attempt (struggle) through using a phone with poor compatibility with modern apps never to be updated again. Or B) wait for a company to bring out a new qwerty phone like Nokia's revival series (2720) and hope they bring out an e72? Or an underdog company like unihertz to do something cheaper + more lightweight? As bad as the BB classic sounds, I'm still tempted! 😬

Now that TCL is off the hooks, it is high time that Blackberry contemplates on re-entering the hardware market, with their proprietary operating System. Let's be honest here. Security and Privacy has never been important as it is now. We need a device that can communicate securely, store and transact critical data and simply be a good phone. BB can seriously consider bringing in few models with different price ranges but all with the same security. I am pretty sure enterprises will be willing to invest on BBs if they are assured that the work gets done. And they can have more expensive models with all the bells and whistles. All BB needs is to ensure that they have the support of major App developers or at the least have a decent android runtime.

Beautiful phone. I keep a sim in mine as a backup caller but dont use it much. I agree with other comments about banking apps. If they worked this would be my main phone. Even Whatsapp still works.

Blackberry never quits I have 8520 and Q3 and still working like day first.
I still use the BB daily and for emails it is still far better then any other android. Unfortunately there are no more apps that can be used on the BB otherwise there would be no point to have an android. In fact, as a consequence, I also have to use a KeyOne: great keyboard but poorer software .... for my (intense) business life, I could not do without my old, best Classic ...
I tried to use it into 2019, but It kept crashing and failing. and there were constant problems getting between phone calls and voicemails. but I love that phone. I cried.
I want to correct you on a little wrong information in the video. The chassis isn’t aluminium but it’s stainless steel. I also use the BlackBerry Classic.

Bb classic and bb passport are good qwerty bb phones...bb leap and bb Z30 are cool touch screen bb phones for college going students...what u miss in these phones are apps...app version of the websites...u get all these phones online with much lesser prices...u can give it a try...good for communication and security....all these phones are productivity phones and u find almost no gimmicks in these phones...simple and reliable... email sync is great in these phones.. Google Play Store can be accessed on these phones...

Is beautiful perfect for calls emails and sms.but otherwise is slow .
The main issue/driver behind the odd chocolate bar shaped cell phone designs today is...... pant pockets! People need to get better pants with roomier pockets! Then they can fit in phones with the correct aspect ratios to display webpages on them properly. I recommend diesel jogg jeans personally, they are very comfortable and can fit very large sized phones or even 7" tablets without issue. I can fit my unihertz titan inside my pants with no issue whatsoever. So.... don't upgrade your phone, upgrade your pants!

I have a bb bold that I use every now and then. I actually prefer my 15 year old flip/clamshell though. Strictly calls and T9 texts, lol. But I live in the middle of nowhere, the closest cell service is an hour drive away. If I was in service more often I would switch to my bb bold.
Love the design, wish they'd used a newer low power 4 core snapdragon chip(along with my 9800 carbon back) along with qnx. The phone would never need rebooting like my BlackBerry tablet. I had to reboot my phone all the time as it froze constantly, but android would have also been a great option

Poorly promoted by BB same with the Z30 despite it being the better phones. I still have the Classic but it’s benched. However my main is my Z30!! Love it for the gym to the music keys make it easy to change songs
Looking to buy one of these, have a Samsung galaxy a10e at the moment and I'm addicted to such a big screen. I liked these style phones more, I think a smaller screen and physical keyboard would help me out. I usually only text. Call and surf the web and instagram and UA-cam. I do have a couple chain store apps that I use for rewards but I can just get physical cards.
Bought it when it came out, loved it but the battery gave out, wouldn't hold a charge at all. After that got a Priv and same thing, the battery was bad. Switched to the DTEK60 and I am hoping they don't completely stop the production of handsets.

I accidentaly ran my blackberry classic through the wAshing machine two times...the first time i threw it in a bag of rice and was good to go but after the second time the battery died now doesnt charge
In my mind, the Blackberry bold 9790 still has a timeless design, it's a shame the software is so dated.
I ordered mine a few days back and returned it back, there was a major battery issue, drain within 1/2 hour of using hotspot
I prefer a qwerty keyboard. i hate the android keyboard and when the Priv came out i was ll over that. I kept getting phone with qwerty keyboards up until 2018 because I had little choice and i went and found a priv on ebay and fell in love until my 2 year old threw it into ablivion and kept tripping over the charger cable. I wish someone would take the Priv and fix the issues with the battery over heating and allow the track pad keyboard feature to be used with custom skins.

I love my classic, but when I download the cobalt android for it, my LINE App (main app for communication in Japan) does not receive call, so I switched to key 2 and soon will have the new Titan.
