What a lovely analogy Marina… Thank you so much for that image!! I am in a cold and dreary place too so, believe me, making pretty things is what is keeping me going! 😂 I am grateful for you every day!! 😊😘💕
Hi Myriam, I'm from Australia & have struggled to get a soft ethereal look. Thank you SO much for the tip re thinning the ink. I have been getting the blobs of dark colour which then makes it impossible to get the look you have achieved above. I was recommended your videos & am so grateful. Thank you!!
Beautiful, Miriam! I’m brand new to alcohol inks (well, any sort of artistry, really-left-brained senior here). Your teaching style and explanations are extremely helpful and fun! Thank you so much. 💕
Oh my goodness this is just what I did for our family Christmas cards. However just before .my work was finished drying I did use the gold flakes for the Vains. It turned out so cool. On I had so much fun with this and it had the perfect colors where I wanted the colors. Then at the end the gold vains were just a perfect amount..
Beautiful. I love watching your videos. I love when you talk about areas you like and why you like them. More instructive to me is when you talk about areas you dont quite like and why, and when you show how to correct. Thank you.
Myriam, you are fabulous. You not only relax me with your voice and trust me relax is not usually in me. You explain everything I need to know and you even gave me an Aussie link to get the photo paper from. You are the first person who told me what you are putting the inks on and I have everything I need in my art room already. I thought I would have to move next door to you and become your new best friend but you make me feel like I did. I subscribed to Sharon’s group this week. I haven’t seen her doing anything with inks except a resin sculpture and it is pretty. I love that I can do this to relax and I don’t need a respirator because it won’t kill me or my husband and 4 little puppies. Thank you. ❤️🌷❤️

That gold just makes that painting!. It reminds me of a Japanese tradition to use gold to mend things that have broke. Like a cup or bowl. I always liked that and this reminds me of it.
This is beautiful! I’ve watched many of your videos because you explain the process so very well. Your explanation of how you mix your inks before you lay down the color and why was so very helpful. I love to listen to you as you try and decide what you want to achieve.

I just discovered your channel a couple of days ago and am absolutely entranced by your alcohol ink work. I have watched a lot of acrylic pour videos and while I love the look and techniques, the amount of paint being wasted and the whole process seems overwhelming to me. I haven't worked with alcohol inks but had just ordered some from Ranger to start playing with and if I can actually get something that looks decent, after practicing a few years, LOL, I will invest in other tools and inks. Having said that, I know I do not have an artists eye because when you finished the blowing I thought it was the most beautiful thing I have seen in a long time. It looked perfect to me. Then you added the gold and I wouldn't have thought to do that but as you were working and you mentioned areas you didn't like and why, I was scratching my head because I didn't see anything wrong. I hope I am making myself clear. At each stage I was sure it was done and then you would add something and it just made it more gorgeous. I am not sure I would ever get even close but I hope I have fun playing with it. I am subscribing and look forward to many more alcohol ink projects. I will work on watching your past videos and I watch the acrylic pours, etc also but they don't really excite me the way alcohol ink does. I think I like the very ethereal look to them. I am hoping that in one of the older videos you will discuss how to seal and preserve your masterpiece when finished? Thank you. Deborah
Hi Deborah! First of all, thank you so much for such a kind and thoughtful note. Like you I am drawn to the ethereal look you can get with alcohol inks, but they can also be used for very deep/bold pieces too. You’ll find them quite versatile I think 😁. I believe with all of my heart that you will be able to create pieces you love with the inks... they are forgiving, exciting, and so much fun! Have faith that you can because I do!! I wish you much fun and success on your ink journey! 😊😘💕 Oh ... Once my alcohol ink paintings dry totally, I spray them with a clear, glossy varnish designed for varying mediums including acrylics, oils and watercolors. A wonderful thing about this particular spray is that it is the only varnish I have ever found which has no bleeding impact on alcohol inks. It will not cause the inks to move in any way… Even the finest alcohol ink details are preserved and protected. Here is a link for it - Kamar Varnish: amzn.to/2Evyv9N I hope that helps a bit. 😊

I was on one of my cardmaking channels just now and the artist there, Jessica Frost Ballas for Simon Says Stamp, was using an Air Puffer to move around her alcohol inks. I don't know anything about them or how much control you have, but I thought I would mention them to you. She said they were purchased at a camera store and are used to remove dust from lenses. "See" you soon, Myriam.
I have one Laura and honestly don’t love it for this (or acrylic pouring... I used it for that too). The puffer requires squeezing for every puff (it gets tiring for involved pieces) and I find I have less control. BUT it may work well for others so I wouldn’t advise against it. Thank you for the kind thought and suggestion! 😊😘💕
Woohooooo. What perfect timing!!! I have been playing quite a lot with AI on ceramic tiles but only yesterday received the gold and silver mixatives from Amazon. I learned so much from this video BEFORE experimenting. Thank you once again!

Thank you for sharing as readily , clearly and generously as you do...By the way, were you ever a teacher? I do love your teaching style. Thanks again.

The puffer requires squeezing for every puff (it gets tiring for involved pieces) and I find I have less control. BUT it may work well for others so I wouldn’t advise against it. Thank you for the kind thought and suggestion! 😊😘💕
Wow this is wonderful thank you
Woohooooo. What perfect timing!!! I have been playing quite a lot with AI on ceramic tiles but only yesterday received the gold and silver mixatives from Amazon. I learned so much from this video BEFORE experimenting. Thank you once again!
Woo hoo indeed! That’s awesome to hear... thank you for telling me Annette!
Just soooo pretty!
Myriam, l love your techniques and humor!! I'm new to alcohol inks and delighted to find your channel. Looking forward to learning more!
Gorgeous as usual! I'm renovating my house using beachy colors and that would look lovely on one of my walls along with your jellyfish piece!
Yes, Myriam with a « y », I did get « something out of this »; in fact, I thoroughly enjoyed the entire presentation from beginning to end ! This is a truly beautiful work of art ! I love the branching pattern, the colors, the gold embellishment including the tiny dots, I could go on & on. Thank you for sharing as readily , clearly and generously as you do...By the way, were you ever a teacher? I do love your teaching style. Thanks again.
Oh my gosh thank you so much for such an incredibly kind and thoughtful comment JL… I greatly appreciate it!!! I was never a teacher really (other than being a teaching assistant in grad school) ... I just thoroughly enjoy sharing 😃. Thank you again! 😊😘💕
Miriam-I just discovered your channel and am living your videos. Great tutorials, and you have such a lovely, fun personality! Thank you! 💜
Enjoy your videos so much. Hope you'll continue to post more videos of your work.
Thank you Myriam! I’m new to exploring this medium. Having fun and your video encourages me to have more!
Love your work! Could you do this method on sanded and primed stainless steel cups?
Love your videos! The link in your description for the small silicone cup is broken. But I found similar items by searching for tattoo ink cups...perhaps that's how you found yours??
This is stunning!!
This is the best alcohol ink video I have watched. Thank you so much for sharing your passion. 💐
Oh my gosh, thank you, thank you Louise! 😊😘💕
