But as more time went by, she realized how insane it all was , and started waking up to the bizarre beliefs and she started faking it for the sake of her marriage . I have had over 200 hours of training dealing with preschoolers. One of the really key things I learned was the brain development of children and the fact that they cannot - CANNOT - process abstract ideas until the age of 8 or 9. Until then, they are literal thinkers. Example: if you say to a four year old we are having chocolate mousse for desert, their mind goes immediately to a moose made of chocolate. Now there are exceptions, of course, prodigies, etc., however, you never set precedent using exceptions.
    This makes me think of the mind fracturing I have read about from survivors and how their brains compartmentalize into MPD's in order to survive the abuses. This is sick with a capital "S". I understand that CoS sees children as small adults, but doesn't make it right.

As soon as William strated popping out sprogs, no one gave a toss about Harry any more. I'm sure the millions of tax free pounds softened the blow somewhat though!!! 🤷‍♀️

    She never became a believer, that’s why she left. Over 50 years ago, my aunt and uncle started following an Spiritual Advisor. Once a month the believer would see him in private, the rest of the time was in prayers and advising the group. Needless to say this guy was sa my cousin from the age of 10 until she was 17. He was grooming her the last act, when she decided to do it with her high school sweetheart. This guy tried to separate them from everyone, my aunt was told to keep her away from this young man, and even from me because we were always together and this devil was afraid that she would trust me with the secret. Good for you Katie.

I would prefer some notice, but he has a great channel so if he wants to jump on, cool. It just means I check his page now and then throughout the day. I bet Aaron would post a link to the stream as your guest on his channel as well. It's worth a try.

      Aaron's video didn't go into children's auditing as much but what it did discuss was interesting. My comment drew some ire because I had noted a parallel between the auditing and the grooming methods of people who manipulate children for shocking and harmful purposes. A number of the replies were removed and I'm not the one reporting them, but I'm sure some are left. Check out his video. If you want, also my comment and the variety of supportive and horrified replies.

      Auditing is nothing like been at confession...your not in the same room as the priest,the priest can't see your face and the do not keep you against your will,you were in and out in 2 minutes,it actually instills in you a lot,where I'm from we were glad to go to the Catholic school,education is the best and it gives you a start in life I'm thankful for...

      @erciliaflores Рік тому +1

      I've only done confession once, for the Confirmation. Never again. Made up some crap, can't remember what but it was awkward for both priest and I. And stupid.
      As an adult, I now feel it's wrong, although I do agree that admitting to a wrong helps to combat shame...But better to do that with a trusted loved one, no? However, my Catholic "education" was nowhere near good enough by other Christian's POV, like my cousin in an Evaangelucal church who signed a celibacy card. Girls made these vows to their pastors (FFS!!!) to remain celibate until marriage. Ick. That creeped the heck out of me and I was so grateful I was a Catholic when I heard about this a teen.

I remember back then I loved reading books. So I took the book home and tried reading it and couldn’t get past the first paragraph. I ended up throwing it out. Never talked to those ppl again. I was a typical teen, I wanted to be with kids my own age and working on my first kiss. My parents were Christians and were not into some crazy new religion. I went into the Scientology centre in London in the late 90's. I wanted to buy a book to learn more about it. I was taken into a side room by a man and repeatedly asked for my name and address. I kept refusing saying I just wanted to buy a book. The man left and spoke to someone outside for a long time and then came back into the room. He gave me the book and I paid with cash and then he gave me my change. He gave me more money in change than I paid him for the book! So I left with the book and a profit. I thought about it after and decided this was a tactic to try and get me to come back. To make me think good things happen to Scientologists. They really are creepy and manipulative.

FINALLY, there is an interactive podcast that covers interesting topics, with simple and plain talk about real-life stories that are not the norm, and yet not trashy. FINALLLY,, there's something interactive on UA-cam, around 3am, when I'm often the only in the house that is still awake! So thank you very much for creating this post where simple, plain talk is the order of the day. Sending much luv from Canada! 🙏♥️🇨🇦♥️🍁🙏

    Back when they were still married, I read an interview, and the scene was set up with the 2 of them in the room and baby Suri crawling around while the interview was taking place, and I forget what the question or comment was, but it was something along the lines of what were they seeing in terms of the little personality beginning to emerge, and Katie answered something like, "she's a strong woman" and the interviewer was fishing for clarification, and Katie merely repeated what she'd just said ... 'Um. Whuh-aat? Well, that's pretty weird,' I thought. Then I just kind of brushed it off as, 'well they are Scientologists; must be a Scientology thing.' Didn't have a clue what a Scientology thing was before this, but that was my introductory inkling, I suppose.

    What Aaron describes about a child in auditing is exactly the same as I felt about being forced to attend school. Even as a child I knew they were lying to me. Still I was told to provide the answer they wanted to hear in order to pass the test so I could have a phucn' break during the summer rather than having to attend summer school. I resented having to go and hated every minute of it. Now looking back I'm annoyed that I was forced to attend a 12+ year long indoctrination camp where they teach people how to be good slaves.
