I live on the Gulf Coast (Hurricanes) and we are waiting to get our system installed (5-month backlog), actually just like the one on the video. I am setting the unit and tank 120 feet from the house where our meter is located on the edge of the property and also burying the tank.

    Nice job here, I stumbled upon this channel this morning & so glad I did! Geologically speaking, U are working in similar terrain I live on here in n. central VT. Back in 2000 I installed a 1000 gal. in ground refurbished tank, yours looks like a 500... Mine is for my LPG fired FHW furnace in the house. I too used bank run material, mostly sand with a occasional stone del. via a tri-axle dump truck, ( 1 ) load. At each end of my tank I cut a notch out & sat anti-corrosive bags in place & via a wire, flash welded them to the tank's ends, soaked each bag with a pail of water & buried them along with the remainder of the tank, done... Been (20) years, knock on wood, no problems. Glad to see U using the grease gun on the hammer, hammers can be tough on equip. for sure, this stuff looked like a shale like material & broke up nicely... Good job burying the utilities too & U even managed to save the white pine! Nice job on the cleanup too, obviously U take pride in your work, well done...

    Andrew, you would have 2 million subscribers by now, if there was 2 million people left in this country that were willing to work and learn new things. You give me hope that your generation is not entirely worthless and allergic to hard work. You will do amazing things in your lifetime.

      MegaBait56.. I thought that was unusual that owner didn't make a base for his generator.

      I doubt that tank would float with all that rock on top plus the fact that it’s only for a standby generator and not house heating so it will not likely ever be left to get very empty.

      43yrs doing Plumbing, HVAC, and electric and putting in tanks and stand by generators since Sandy. The tank install is fine only thing I do is always put a pad for condensers and any type of units with a small light and outlet to maintain it. Plus keeps the snow, flooding away from it. Every state has their own codes but everything Andrew did is fine.

      why bury tank as opposed to surface mount? forest fire hazard?

    • @Crewsy
      @Crewsy 5 років тому +2

      R Dunphy
      I think it is purely aesthetics. They don’t want to see them. Where I live you can’t bury a tank so people often planted trees or built small fences around them.
      One customer told me she was afraid of a tank of propane and felt safer with natural gas but only because she couldn’t see it after further asking why.

    The isolated giant boulder is called a “Glacial Erratic”. Left by melting glaciers, they are typically different composition and smoother than native rocks. They are common in southern New York and New England.
    Andrew - could you tell us in the videos what permits and inspections are required on your jobs and who arranges them? Would also like to know how long a job takes. Enjoy all your vids. Keep up the great work.
