    If you're looking for an easy interior upgrade you could look at replacing your seats. If you want a bit more sporty seats, the ST170 seats are nice. In some markets there was a TDCI Sport trim that came with the same ricaro seats as the ST170 half leather but with the blue cloth replaced with dark grey cloth. Personally I think these seats would look great in the silver focus. Other options would be the full leather ST170 recaro seats, or the full leather (futura trim) seats. Do pay attention when buying the seats as the back rest of the rear seats of a station are different than that of a hatchback. I think (not 100% sure) that all other models have the same rear seat setup.

    • @Horus_Works
      @Horus_Works  Рік тому +1

      Thank you mate. I'd love a set of ST170 seats but they are super rare to find over here. I also tried importing a set of leather recaros from the UK, but the shipping cost was crazy (more than 3x the seats)... I'll keep looking though 😉 looks like an interior upgrade would be something popular for this channel.

    Great job and upgrade! Shifting smoothness and accuracy is pivotal in a cool daily driver with manual transmission.
    I've made a rear (hard) brakeline swap on my '02 Focus, after a proper brake bleeding the brake is way more effective.
    The factory brake lines (iron..) have a tendency to be completely rotten and like to leak brake fluid out of the brake system (air into the brake system..) New CuNi lines work fine.

    Cool video dude. Question regarding reverse though. What fail safes are there, to prevent inadvertently going into reverse, if you ‘forget’ you don’t have 6th gear? Is the billet collar only there for aesthetics or does it actually do a job? I’m amazed that Steeda didn’t supply fitting instructions too. Your channel is very helpful too. A worthy find from here in the UK.

    • @Horus_Works
      @Horus_Works  4 місяці тому

      Hey Wayne, thanks for commenting mate. Steeda does supply instructions, they're just a bit universal because these shifters can go into a couple of Focuses. The lift ring on the factory shifter lifts a notch on the base of the shifter for reverse, but this is removed with the Steeda shifter. I was worried about going into reverse too, but reverse locks out at the trans side somewhere once you're moving, so no risk at all of going into reverse. Have been using this for a while now and have never gone into reverse. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching 😊

    Very nice!
    I have the same Focus as you, MK1 Zetec 1.6. Looking forward to keep tuning it and make it as cool as yours!
    Also, one question: Have you ever experienced any "choking" when driving uphill on any gear? For me it happens with every single one 1-5), on a "medium" speed, even though the RPM is at 1.600/2.000/2.500.
    Obviously when we go uphill, and with not that much speed, we need to shift one or even two gears, but it always happens when I shift from one to another, and need that fast acceleration to shift again, and it feels like the engine bumps up/chokes when trying to accelerate. Maybe something with the spark plugs (which were changed recently and did not result) or even a clogged up gas pump/catalyst.
    Well, I'll head up to the mechanic next month, but it's always good to hear something for other Focus owner! Thanks a lot and keep up the good work! Cheers!

    • @Horus_Works
      @Horus_Works  Рік тому +1

      Hello Gustavo, thanks for supporting me, I appreciate it 👍
      I think if my car was choking on acceleration, I would definitely have a look at fuel supply (fuel filter, injectors) because when you accelerate, what happens is that the car is trying to send more fuel. If it can't send more fuel, so the throttle opens more but no more fuel, the car will choke (not enough fuel). Also, have a look to see if you have any vacuum leaks (air leaks) around the intake or Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. Usually the MAF sensor can compensate for tiny leaks, but when you accelerate maybe it's too big an air leak for it to handle. That where I would start 1) fuel 2) vacuum leaks.
      I hope this helps you, best of luck with finding the problem, and appreciate you watching 😀

    Will this resolve the massive side-to-side play I have when in gear? I heard there were some bushing that I might have to replace. Not sure if I can access from this location.

    • @Horus_Works
      @Horus_Works  2 місяці тому

      Hey Jake, this won't necessarily fix the side to side play no, it would just make it less obvious (shorter throw). The bushings in this setup aren't necessarily typical rubber bushings, more like plastic inserts that work with the black plastic gaiter housing itself (the black piece of plastic I'm holding at 9:18 in this video). The mechanism can be accessed easily by lifting out your gear shift leather boot, and taking a few screws out as seen it this video. Once it's all out you will see how it all works and what bushings are in play. Should be a fun little Sunday exploration project, and once you get the bits together I doubt it will take much to fix the play in your gear selector. Have fun man, and much appreciate you watching.

      @LincolnRobinson Рік тому

      @@Horus_Works Oh, you can get a shortshifter for the Getrag gearbox in the ST170. I was more envious of the MTX75 as it's a much better gearbox. Better ratios and single mass flywheel. You can install them into the ST170 and many do.
