this was so realaxing to watch jaja!! Beautiful. and this also works as a tutorial for someone like me who wants to learn (I don't even have this kind of skates but I have managed to learn a littlebit with my rollerblades) , thank youu for uploading :D
Glad you enjoyed! Doing turns and stuff like that will be nearly impossible on normal inline skates unless you rocker your wheels (switch the front and back wheels for slightly smaller ones).
@@natsskates THANKS!!!! I was just wondering if switching the wheels would make a difference. I'll experiment :) I don't expect it to be as smooth with my roller blades. but I have fun trying
Where did you get your snow white inline skates? I've been looking for some since I don't have an ice rink where I live so I wanted to try skating instead :>
I live in Canada and got them from an online shop which doesn't exist anymore, so can't really help you there. It all depends on which country you live in. Just do an internet search. I know that in Canada there are a few figure skate shops which happen to sell Pic frames (which is a different brand of inline figure skates).
I bought a pair of inline skates second hand and I can’t seem to even do swizzles. They aren’t meant for ice skating and have one rubber stop on the back of one skate. Is it safe to say that snow whites would be a better choice? How easy is it to turn them? You make it look easier than what I have attempted on these other skates
I can guarantee you that your skates which you're describing to me are not meant for figure skating. They most likely don't have a rocker (i.e. all the wheels are on the same level rather than the front and back wheels being slightly higher than the middle wheels), and I can imagine that it would be extremely difficult to do turns on inline skates without a rocker! The Snow Whites are meant for figure skating and absolutely do have a rocker, as well as toe stops in the front which act very much like the toe picks of ice figure skates. You can *try* to make your inline skates work a bit better for turns by swapping out the front and back wheels for slightly smaller ones (very slightly, don't go too crazy), so that they're slightly lifted off the ground when you're on the middle wheels. That way you would have a rocker and might have more luck with the turns. Be sure to get this done at a pro shop so that they can choose the correct wheels for you. But ultimately if your goal is to figure skate, I highly recommend getting a similar setup (inline figure frames and figure boots) to what I have.
To be honest I just kept it at the height it came with. I've heard people say that the back wheel should be 2 fingers away from the ground. You don't want to toe stop too high or else you won't be able to reach it for edge jumps and you will have to shift your balance quite a bit forward for spins. Try the 2 finger rule, see how it feels. Play with different heights to see which height is low enough for edge jumps and spins, but not too low that it gets in the way and messes up your toe jumps.
Hi! I am also in Ottawa and former figure skater (it’s been a long time since I’ve skate though). This seems like a lot of fun. May I ask where you got your blades mounted? Was it very expensive (just wondering if it’s much cheaper to buy fully assembled skate or use my old figure skating boot (which i never use anymore) and have the wheels mounted on that ! Thanks !
The blades were about $400 or a bit more. Definitely cheaper to get just the blades. I bought a pair of used skates for $40. I took this to Joe at B-Sharp, he's been mounting quite a few of these inline figure skates. I ordered my Snow Whites at softedges.ca. There are several other brands of inline figure skates (Pic, Linea, Golden Horse) but you'd have to do your research on where to get those.
@@stephenklump7615 none of these places were selling inline figure skates at the time that I was looking to get some, but it's definitely nice that more places are starting to sell them. B Sharp is currently selling the Mirage inline frame from Jackson which is new on the market, and Figure 8 in Toronto also has Pic frames. I like frames where I can control the height of my stopper so Pics aren't my jam, but Mirage is a good alternative to Snow Whites if you want to get them locally.
They're just figure skating boots. Figure skating boots can be purchased separately from the blades and attached to Snow White frames. These boots are Jackson Freestyle. On ice I wear Jackson Elle boots. There's other brands besides Jackson such as Edea, Riedell and Risport.
Hi! I also want to buy the boots and wheels separately. Do you know if the Jackson Mystic/Artiste/Elle ice skates can be converted to inline skates? Tysm!!
Yes, the frames and boots are sold separately. At a minimum you need the Jackson Elle boots or a higher model such as Freestyle or Competitor. The Mystique/Artiste boots have PVC soles and come with pre-attached blades; they are not designed for exchanging blades/inline frames.
