- I took my kayak 3 miles offshore to catch the tastiest fish in the Gulf of Mexico! In this episode I head out to Navarre Florida to go kayak fishing offshore for red snapper and Mahi Mahi. We were able to quickly get on a massive school and ended up putting several tasty fish in the kayak!

Got to give you your prompts u always catch fish and eatable fish at that and you do some good catch and cooks with good tasty recipes keep them videos coming
Nice video, we recently took our kayaks up to Canada for a fishing trip. Nothing better than fishing out of a kayak!
Man that sounds awesome!!
Looked like a lot of fun!
Man it was a blast out there!!
Good stuff Nate
Thanks brother!!
Dammitman, that was an awesome video!! Especially the fish tacos 🌮 😋 keep the catch and cooks coming!!😊
🙌 thanks brother, editing another one now!
Nate, you’re a braver man than me pulling those green fish into your kayak with all those travel hooks! Nice video, keep them coming!
Lol I was a little worried lol had a few close calls
What a freaking day man. An absolute slaying and delicious food to end the day.
🙌 🙌 man it was killer out there!!
Awesome day with a double limit! A charter Capt. showed me a technique when in a bunch of Mahi schoolies. Hook a small one in the back and free line it below the school. He hooked a huge bull head.
Right on!!
Dude, take me with you! Badass vid. Keep it up brother man!
🙌 🙌
Great vid. Wanting to out there but am Leary of going alone. But Soon!
Yeah never go alone, I have a bit of experience out there and I still never go alone
Intense when you hook into a big one lol. Cool to see. One of these days!
No doubt!!
Yay tacos! Those mahi are some flappy fish.
Yes they are lol
Good day fishing
Nice day on the water.
🙌
Great day in the water man.
Man it was one to remember for sure!
That was awesome! Thanks for the video. What is your setup?
Thanks man! I’m using a Daiwa Coastal rod with a Shimano Stradic 5000 with 40 pound braid
I've never seen a mahi less than a couple feet. Those are what 3 months old. They don't look over 20"min either.
Tiny, tiny, tiny things
🤦🏻♂️ say you don’t know what you’re talking about without saying you don’t know what your talking about
@southernsalt takes about 3 months for mahi to get to 14 to 16 inches. Here 20inch in min size (edit I see Gulf has no minimum... Shame but ok.) I've never seen one less than maybe 2.5 feet but then I don't target much.
I skipped some though when I posted am around the 7:22 mark of vid. If we presume that's a 5" yozuri or similar the fish looks no longer than 3x length or 15"
Awe looking tacos my man. Congrats on the limit
Thanks brother!!
Good day fishing with 2 types of fish limit for day.👍
Can't beat fish tacos!
🙌
I believe the best bait for a bull is the shiny belly cut off those little chicken dorados.
Never tried that!
Man I wanna go catch some Mahi!
🙌 went today and none to be found
You know that's good food when his initial reaction after the first bite is a fist pump hahaha
Oh yeah them little chicken Mahi are delicious
I tried your cilantro and sour cream sauce and it was a hit with my fish tacos! It's a great way to keep cilantro around seeing as it rots away so fast. I had to have Tilapia from Publix due to the fact that I have been working WAY too much. In fact, my fishing Kayaks are sitting in my shop covered in dust! What a shame! It's been soooo dang hot in Tallahassee. I'm sure that you must get up around 3 or 4 am to get out there before it gets too hot. I saw you fishing that tournament and wondered how you could be out there all day long.
It’s tough lol. Yeah my typical day starts at 3:30.
I did not know Peach salsa was a thing I'll have to get some
Good stuff!
Nice water in the morning.
Good luck out there
Dam rusty struggling over there
😂
I've also heard dolphin are one of/the fastest growing fish in the ocean
Good deal brother!
Bro that 79° water is amazing
🙌 looking forward to getting back out there this week!
Man those mahi were small!
Crazy yall get Mahi that close to shore lol
Yeah they catch them off the piers around here from time to time
was at the pier and seen some people on kayaks turn out it was you !
Awesome man, it sounded like there were some good fish caught off the pier on this day.
Those are excellent but try it with whiting. So good it's gotta be a sin
That's amazing man! What day was this?
Last week
Dolphin are the fastest growing fish on earth.
They also only live about 5 years max
I guess that's the only way to get offshore from Navarre without having to take a boat all the way to Pensacola or Destin pass. Might have to give that a try.
Yeah pretty much. It’s a heck of run for a boat and at that rate the boats might as well run further offshore vs down the coast to Navarre
@@southernsalt Yeah it's not a normal run except during cobia season, then everyone is running the bars lol
Great video ! Is the crystal minnow sinking or floating?
It’s a floating
@@southernsalt thank you!
LOOKS GOOD, BUT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE YOU HAVE ENOUGH FISH TO GO ON 4 TACO'S LOL, HECK I'D BE USING ALL OF THAT ON 1 LOL LOL
😂 it’s a taco not a burrito lol jk man
It’s called cabbage lol
😂 that’s what I meant lol… long day lol
Have you ever tried jigging the hoodwink offshore
I haven’t but I think I’m gonna try it out soon
@@southernsalt I'd like to see that I have no way of getting offshore but would still be interested to see it done I bought one of each color from Jamisons bait&tackle and love them awesome lures man and awesome job
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
🙌
Where about in Florida is this?
Navarre
How do I book a fishing trip with you I can’t find the links anymore
Shoot me a message on Facebook
It's always the last limit fish that's hard to get
No doubt
How long does it take you to get out there?
1 hour
Are those pompano dolphinfish or common dolphinfish
No clue lol we call the chicken dolphin
Also, we almost never get the mahi like they have in south Florida, so it isn't fair to compare them to those big bulls down there.
There are some good ones caught from time to time around the reefs. I guided a client a few weeks back that caught a 27” which is not giant but still a very good fish
We get the big ones, but you usually have to go offshore and fine blue water to get them. My biggest is maybe 15 pounds caught around the edge while grouper fishing, but I have seen boats come in from the rigs tuna and swordfishing with some giants. Seen some huge dolphin weighed in at tournament on the Gulf coast too. The people complaining are ridiculous though. It's legal, so they need to shut up about it.
Why the 120 over the 136?
Really just comes down to weight and it already fitting on my trailer without any modifications
@@southernsalt stability still pretty good?
little chick dolphin
Why not on jetsky? Why on kayak?
Why a jetski and not a kayak?
Why keep those baby fish?
Because they taste good
that bonita will fine , bleed it cut in stakes and cook like a stake
I’ve eaten them before
Bonita belly strips bro
Right on!!
A bunch of chicks.
Some tasty chicks too lol
WTH is wrong with you? Keeping those little babies😢. But is worse is the idiotic comments propping this dude up...
🤦🏻♂️ 😂 move along dude
Why are you keeping those tiny mahi? that is ridiculous. Minnows. FFS
🤦🏻♂️
Cast one between that huge gap!
Huh
