Next time I travel to Destin/ Miramar I want to try fishing in the gulf in my kayak , your videos are helpful. I have never fished from a kayak in saltwater though. I’m sure it takes some practice
I'm glad the videos have been helpful. Yes, offshore saltwater takes a bit of practice before getting comfortable. Getting past the surf and coming back onto the beach can the more challenging parts, but planning the trip when conditions permit can alleviate that. I recommend going out with a buddy, especially if you're new to just kayaking in general. If you don't have anyone to go with just make sure you wear your PFD and a way to call someone for help. Also make a plan and tell someone where you're going and when to expect you back. It's honestly not that difficult, but things can change quickly like flipping your kayak, taking in water, and/or the weather/conditions deteriorate. Hopefully this is helpful.
Awesome video man! Congrats on the Cobia. I need to get my Yak offshore. Never been out. Looks like we have the same stomping grounds as Maxwell Gunter is my launch on most days as well.
That cobia wanted nothing to do with the net haha! Your vids always get me hyped to fish, managed to ditch the family for an hour at shell Island and hit the jetties, got into some massive ladyfish that ripped drag escaping the dolphin on the hunt. Great day!
You're the second dude that has said that! I'm slacking and do need to reach out. They should at least send me a couple of packs of lures lol. You really do, those things are great. They're definitely a good backup if you don't have bait.
I moved here for work and love to fish in free time. I have a normal pedal kayak but to go hit those reefs like you I'd have to get a pedal kayak preferably right? If so any brand recommendations? Looking to spend under 1200
@@RR-cv9tn You don't need a pedal kayak but it sure does make a huge difference and gives you an advantage. I started with a paddle kayak and eventually upgraded. Your kayak just needs to be stable and know your limitations. Under $1200 will be tough to find. My recommendations are Hobie or Old Town. I just haven't done enough research on other brands.
Hey man, awesome video! I definitely liked and subscribed. I live here in Navarre and am pretty new to offshore kayak fishing, but looking to do more of it. If you ever want a companion to go out with in this area, I would love to pair up!
Thank you! I really appreciate it. I'll definitely be going out there once the season is open, just not sure which days yet. I'll try and give you a heads up next time I head out there.
Great video. I’m coming to Navarre next week to fish for first time out there. Is out from Destin pass that good or is it better out from Navarre ? You make it look easy dude.
Thank you! I appreciate it! It's way better out of Navarre and I've had better luck there. Going out of Destin pass is doable but very dangerous due to boat traffic and water conditions, I recommend not going out of the pass. You can always beach launch in Destin if that's where you want to fish. Good luck at Navarre and I hope you get on 'em. If you have any other questions let me know.
Closest place is white point on the north side of the bay. It’s right next to the Maxwell Gunter Campground which is pretty much next to the bridge. White point is Eglin Air Force Base property so you will need an Eglin recreation pass which you can get online on the Eglin isportsman page.
@@KpAtch3s that should be incorrect. Recreation passes and that area should be open to the public. I’d say call Jackson Guard to clarify, their office is in Niceville and they manage Eglin property when it comes to fishing, hunting, camping and recreation.
These reefs are about 1.25 miles from the beach and furthest is under 2 miles. We're lucky to have such a good close offshore fishery for kayak anglers.
I usually troll 50-70 yards back and either 5-7 ft, 13-15 ft, or 20-25 ft depending on the type of lure. The Spanish Mack hit on a Rapala Xrap that dives 5-7 ft. I also caught a Bonita that didn’t make it on video on a yozuri deep diver that dives 13 ft.
@@oafishing Thanks! I like the details like which lure you're using or depth or distance out. Appreciate your videos! Fishing in Panacea end of June, hoping I can learn enough from your videos to catch something!
They are the public numbers for the Navarre reefs. You can pull them up on the FWC web page myfwc.com/fishing/saltwater/artificial-reefs/locate/ This will show you all of the Florida public reef numbers.
Good day on the water, brother!
Some chunky Snappers, and a decent Spanish Mack and Cobia too.
Doesn’t get much better than that!
Thanks brother! It sure was. I couldn’t have asked for a better day.
Fun fishing! Congrats on that cobia. You should have no problem getting a limit when the season opens up
Thanks bro! It was a a hell of a day! YEEEEET!😂
Epic video you should do kayak charters
@@4mileoutdoors268 thank you! I am thinking about it. I want to get a second kayak and start there.
Awesome video. Can't wait to see more of you slaying some red snapper once they're in season.
And that cobia......SON!!!
Thanks man! I can’t wait to get out there again! That Cobia surprised the hell out of me.
You Crushed it Homie! You really have the Destin FWB waters dialed in! Keep slaying! You are awesome to watch!
It’s always a work in progress trying to figure out the bite. Thank you and thanks for watching!

@@oafishing thank you , I was thinking it would be best to go with someone for the first few trips
Bro really man! I should be your wing man! LOL. I need to get some offshore fishing off my bucket list.
For sure! You definitely need to get offshore, it’s awesome?
Thanks for sharing. This is the first video I've seen of your's great stuff.
I appreciate you checking out the video. Thank you!
Awesome video man! Congrats on the Cobia. I need to get my Yak offshore. Never been out. Looks like we have the same stomping grounds as Maxwell Gunter is my launch on most days as well.
Thanks man! You definitely do, it’s a blast. When I’m short on time I will always hit that bridge. I’m hoping those tarpon are there now.
Great channel. I am river/smallmouth guy, but my family loves to vacation at the beach. I am going to have to give offshore kayak fishing a try.
Thanks man! I do love catching some smallmouth too. Offshore is a whole different experience I would recommend to any angler.
Keep grinding out there OA!!! Awesome day of catching those red snappers and that giant cobia!!
Thanks bro! The grind goes on! I definitely had a good day.
Heck of a day for you! Congrats and thanks for videoing your catches.

That joker swerved on that net so many times it was nerve racking lol. Hell yeah! Gotta do what you gotta do. Those big ass ladyfish are a fun fight!
Awesome work today and good catches

All I can say is fantastic catches and video 👍 I feel your excitement 🙂 thanks for sharing 👊 stay safe and be well out there buddy ⚓ blessings 🙏

Man zman needs to pay this guy! I'm gonna have to start taking mine out to the reefs now lol.
Great stuff man, as always

Hey man are you still fishing in destin ?
