Listen, anybody who needs a cheap intro to the Allen and Heath line of mixers should consider buying this one. I've had my xone 22 for over a year now and have had nothing but total joy out it! Am totally chuffed that I bought this little thing, it was a totally excellent intro both to A+H and to DJ mixers in general. Go to any serious club and you'll only find A+H there, that's how good they are. Looking forward to buying the DB4 later this year.....super noodles for a year, but worth it!
I love this mixer. had mine for 3 years straight and never missed a beat since then. only problem is the crossfader now bleeds but I found a remedy to "cure" the bleeding. love the lite VCF filters on this little mixer. bang for the buck and surprisingly, this mixer is also good for scratching compared to my Numark mixer which is pretty shte
How do you fix that bleeding problem? I desoldered the bleeding one from the crossfader circuit board and put a brand new Alpha slide potentiometer on it. (Xone:22 original crossfader is made by Alpha too) The new crossfader works for couple minutes and starts bleed again after some heavy scratching... I’ve swapped two alpha branded faders non of them survive more than 1 day abuse
@djraff88 The cross fader can be replaced but you will need to check the specifications and fitting instructions depending on which brand of fader you choose.
I am baffled that the unit which has replaced the 22, the Xone23, has no split cue, has shorter channel faders, no dedicated meter for each channel, and the phono gain is odd, forcing you to crank the gain way past 3 o'clock to get anything decent on the meter (-3 db). I bought the 23 to replace the 22 and could not get on with it. Had it for a week and tried hard, but could not like it. The phono gain was what I could not live with. Everything else I was happy to compromise on. I ended up returning it and losing a bunch of money in the process. Disappointed and gutted. Anyway, am going to get the 22 fixed. Been Djing for 15 years and the 22 is one of the nicest, well thought out mixers I've had the privilege of using. The layout, and the enjoyment you get from using it.
Hi, I've just ordered a brand new Xone 22 for 177 quid. I was going to buy the Xone 23, but i also read about the issues with the phono gain and not having a split cue, so i decided against the 23 and went for the 22 instead. Just seems like the more sensible option for Vinyl mixing.
@minarick1 Each channel has a Line / Phone select on the top of the mixer. There is no reason not to switch between Line and Phone with both a DC player and Turn-Table connected simultaneously to the 22. I would personally turn the level all the way down prior to any change to allow for level differences between the 2 audio sources. Can i ask for a link to the video you have mentioned?

yes, just buy an external soundcard for between the computer and the mixer. Traktor Audio 2 should do the job, basically converts USB out in two stereo outs for both channels of your mixer,. i used one with Traktor for about a year. you can configure traktor to put all four decks through these two stereo outs. worked for me.
Was looking for some help, I've got a zed10 and love A&H, and was looking to upgrade our rig. rt now We're using a pc rig with an audiophile soundcard with rca to the zed 10. I was looking for a way to play .wav files thru something of this nature. Is there any hardware to substitute the pc that has a screen of some sort or playlist abilities that I can use in conjunction with this that's a little more "plug n play" thanks in advance. -the diabolical mister.xen
my mixer was not b-stock, or was certainly not listed as such or marked as such on the packaging. The one person I was able to get a hold of at Allen & Heath took my serial number and told me if it was a refurb or b-stock it would very clearly say it on the packaging, which it did not so I have to assume it was new.
Is the FX send and return implemented like the Pioneer DJM series. I.e you deal with the dry wet on the fx unit rather than having to set Send levels ext on the mixer? So basically you just hit a switch and the effect is there ?
also, DJM 350 hasn't got sends/returns sending to an external effects unit. Hasn't got XLR Mic in. nor has it got XLRs out for the main mix which are separate from the booth's phonos. finally, it hasn't got the filters too.....
My filter is having a problem after 7 months, Sometimes ( 1 time out of 50 ) when i turn my filter on the left channel goes of, To fix it i just have to hit it with small amount of force. I will RMA it. But Still, I really love this mixer and if i can choose the second time i would still get the 22
i need to add here, it really is a question of your needs, what you want to do? are you DJing or using the desktop in conjunction with a DAW? i mean, i DJ, so, i only really need 4 stereo outs from my laptop (am using traktor via usb through my Xone DB4 - it acts as the soundcard) like i said, it's your needs that the most important question here. it might be a good idea to let me know exactly what you want to do, all the best, mark.

Just had to accept a refund for mine! The mixer itself is great, the EQs sound really fat and the filter is just as useable as on higher level models. The problem, as mentioned previously, is with the overwhelming hissing noise. It is clearly audible from the XLR output, record out and through the headphones. I've sent 2 back and Juno said the ones left in stock have the same issue. Very disappointing from A&H, i would recommend for anyone wanting this mixer to hunt down a decent used Xone32.

hi oddomaticmusic, sorry for the lateness of the reply, i seldom check my googlemail and only just got your question. ok, am no expert, but would suggest you get a laptop and soundcard or try out a pair of CDJs (most models have both ability to play WAVs and can create playlists) thinking hard about it though, am coming to the conclusion it might be cheaper, and more flexible for your needs in the long run, to go the laptop and and decent external soundcard route.
I was going to buy this mixer, instead of buying a pioneer djm400, i really liked the filters and the frequency kills, what i DIDNT like about the Xone 22 is the power cable :S... it seems pretty thin, and unreliable, like a celphone charger :S..

I just bought this mixer as my first introduction to Allen & Heath products. I'm severely disappointed. My first unit had a bad channel on the monitor output. Received a replacement from the reseller within days and it had a bad HISS on the left channel of both headphone outs (even with nothing connected and all levels turned all the way down- even the headphone volume). Allen & Heath's customer service has been a joke, they don't answer their phone and don't return calls or emails. POS.

Switchable meter modes? What the fuck A&H? I wan't maximum build/audio quality per dollar i spend from your stuf, not fancy meter switches. Looks terrible too imo, why not go with the 32 build but with just 2 channels?
I switched from this to the Ecler evo 5 and i got to say, i really miss the analog xone filter. Nothing beats it !

@rhino2960 The short answer is yes but you would need an external soundcard for the Computers audio.

you can record from the xone 22 too. there's two RCA Phono outs on the back of the mixer labled 'Record' strangely enough.
Yeah, but if you're gonna record from it, you will want to hook it up to an external sound card/ Audio interface

There is a master headphone control and headphone pre-cueing fader.

hows the scratching ability with the crossfader? how much of a step up is it from a typical barebone 2 channel mixer?
